Well, my first signature on HC was "Hi.".
A dif question, huh?
Which creature from HoMM3 looks like it's HoMM1 counterpart when non-upgraded, while it looks like the HoMM2 version when upgraded?

This is hard for me, because I have only played the odd Homm's. I do know that the swordsman, dwarf, griffin, gargoyle and unicorn look nearly identical from Homm's 1 and 3. the battle dwarf doesn't look like a homm 2 creature. The obsidian gargoyles look too similar to the stone gargoyles of Homm 3 and the same for the unicorn and war unicorn. This leaves the crudaser and royal griffin. But I remember one explaining to one of my Homm 2 friends about Homm 3 and they said that crusaders were really good in Homm 2, but they never heard of royal griffins, so I will finally say
CRUSADERS!!!
Is this a good guess, because I have no clue? lol

But aren't there in Crusaders Homm 2? Anyway I guess that was kind of a vague question that can be interpreted differently.
I thought you meant
Swordsman of Homm3 looks like swordsman of Homm 1
AND
Crusader of Homm3 looks like crusader of Homm 2

The HOMM2 crusader looked much better than Mr. Tinman from HOMM3. I go with Silx, the Griffin.

yes, but if I had known that he wanted to know that a homm3 crusader looked like a homm2 swordsman or a homm3 royal griffin than I'd have chosen the griffin.
Due to my logic these would have been my 2 final choices, because I still would have thought the same for the battle dwarves not looking like a Homm 2 creature and that the war unicorn looks too much like the regular unicorn as with the stone gargoyle and the obsidian gargoyle. If you look at my previous post you will see that I would not have chosen any of the other creatures from Homm1 that looked like homm3 creatures.
Anyway. I got it wrong. Can you ask me another question or is that all the tries I get.

The answer was... griffin. Please note that in HoMM1 they were brown, while in HoMM2 they got white heads. In HoMM3, griffins are brown (with maybe a little tint of yellow, which the HoMM1 griffin also had), while royal griffins have a white head, just like the HoMM2 griffin.
