Poll Question: Best special magic skill?
Greetings Everyone,
You might have noticed that each magic alignment except the Stronghold has a special skill associated with their magic alignment. Those skills are Sorcery, Resurrection, Necromancy, Summoning, and Charm.
So, from the above, which one is your favourite of them all?

I have too say the Necromancy skill is the best.
They all have there good points but when playing another person and not the really stupid comp Necromancy is the best.
I mean the resurection skill is ok, but only helps if you lose creatures in battle. Also it doesn't work on your Ballista!
I think that the sorcery skill has to be the second best skill because it up all effectivness I believe.
Summoning is ok but it's only worth it at Expert and up. And that's debateable.
Have to say I haven't had a lot of practice with charm so I am not too sure how usefull it is.

As all the third magic skills except Necromancy are worthless, I guess there's no contest at all...

Sorcery can be effective.
Necromancy is lethal
Order is the weakest but still useful
Life can be quite effective as well.

resurrection can be useful, sometimes. but only in multiplayer games. when fighting against neutrals, one should not really create situations where resurrection can work.
however, in multi it has often happened that me and my opponent gather all forces into one battle, and as those are roughly equal, almost everybody dies. and still after that neither one is willing to accept defeat, so we both start building up our armies from zero again. Getting 30% of your late army at that point makes a HUGE difference.

necro is best.....easily accumulate vamps.
nature's ok...only that the best creature summoned are elementals..disappointin'.
then resurrection...later 50% troops'll be back.
Then that chao's power boostin'. It can double the spell damage. But since damagin' spells still suk, so they are not that good.
Then that order thing is next to useless. Most time enemy won't convert. When they convert, often they are different alignments, which means u'll have to make space up for those few troops and decrease ur morale. Then the only good thing is that force surrender.

1. Necromancy is the best I agree. The higher in level your hero is, the more vampires you can raise.
2. Sorcery is quite effective if you are a chaos sorceror. The double damage can be a lot when your hero is level 25+
3. Resurection is useful, but since I avoid losing even a few troops in most fights, it goes unneeded most of the time.
4. Charm is not totally useless. I use the troops that I get from charm to reinforce my garisons(the non-town ones).
5. Summoning can be annoying if you don't have any nature towns but still have the skill on one of your heroes. The sprites and wolves and lepres are too weak to suit later armies.
