I think the best ones were named, except Calh, he is great on random maps where scouting can be very helpful. Picture a 20th level cahl out in the bush with 10 efreet sultans and 100 gogs close behind. those gogs can sometimes do 1000 points of damage with enough attack power and maybe a good bow.

Xarfax
I personally don't like Xarfax considering that fireball cost the same and deals the same amount of damamge as inferno with a smaller area of effect but the odds are in his favor with his initial skills. He is the only Inferno hero that starts with Leadership. Wisdom and Leadership make a lethal combo putting him in the lead early on in the game. Late game I'd say Xyron but how often does one actually make it that far?

Inferno heroes from best to worst:
Demoniacs
1) Pyre - My favorite demoniac. Has logistics and free ballista
2) Fiona - Good for scouting. Having extra of those dogs couldn't hurt either.
3) Marius/Nymus - No wasted skill here. Specializing in demons or fiends is a good thing; the extra bonus always helps.
5) Calh - Not too bad, but Archery is not a skill I'd give my Inferno heroes.
6) Octavia - Good 2ndary hero.
7) Rashka - Hmmm...Wisdom and scholar, preferably a 2ndary hero here.
8) Ignatius - Third class hero. Starting skills aren't too bad, though
Heretics
1) Ayden - I donno 'bout you but knowledge always seems to be a problem to me when using heretics.
2) Zydar - Can you say Magic Arrow, Implosion, or Meteor Shower?
3) Xarfax/Xyron - The spells ain't too good, but they can help. Xarfax has better skills, but specializes in a lousier spell.
5) Ash - Bloodlust, not too bad, but she has got Eagle Eye. Luckily she doesn't specialize in it.
6) Calid - I'd pick her if i'm playing Dungeon
7) Olema - Inferno heroes hardly get Water magic. But if she does get it, she'll do quite fine.
8) Axis - I've never picked a hero who specializes in Eagle Eye or Mysticism b4.

It deoends on your strongpoints on playing Inferno.
SOme players like Pyrre because of the speed & Ballista is like having another lv7 creature when you get the Att up & lv ups.
Octavios good for some much needed money & if you dont have many selections then Ocaviuo is a good choice.
Some Also Mastered the skilkl of Demonocracy & like to use Marius to increase the speed & stats on the Demons which can make them powerhouse creatures as they already are,lv 4 creatures thier stats make up for having no skills.
Nymus is cool also if you want the increase power of pit fiends creating Demons.

It depends of which map are you playing. Sometimes you need Pyre, to explore more, sometimes Xyron to deal fair damage even at the start of the game.
But I prefer Calh. Gogs are his specialty. More powerful "fireball-lizards" magogs.
P.S. Rashka and Xyron are not bad. They are relatively good.

But he is still good to have if you're a demon farmer since his boosts will make the fiends survive a bit longer - they are high on the deathlist of AI and (I think, never played online before, so don't bash me if I'm wrong) human opponents.

They ARE high on a human's bash list.
Everyone wants to kill the fiends b4 they can make more demons. High on my list and through my experience, that is.
BTW, Nymus is female.

personally i like nymus and xarfax.
nymus cos the pitlords are so thin on the hp and they need all the strenght they can get even fron those +2 or 3 given by the speciality on the attack and defense. the lords are a fairly good unit and can deliver the goods when used wisely in combination with devils and efreeti.the offense in the begining may look worthless gut it's an all important skill.
xarfax on the other hand has leadership to start with which is a big plus and fireball is not much worse than the inferno and costs less.still it's useless in the late stages of the game. what sets this guy apart is the early mentioned leadership which can come in very handy sometimes.

I very rarely play inferno (probably less than 1%) but if i did i always have picked Xyron. Inferno is a really good spell, although you can barely cast it once at the start of the game. Once you get expert fire magic and a lot more spell power and knowledge, it would get lethal.
