Quote: Creatures with the "Berserk" spell cast upon them will now move towards the nearest creature if they can't reach an enemy in one turn.
I'm not sure if I believe this.....I think I've seen berserked creatures not move a lot of times (with heroes complete).
Time for a test map (to prove myself wrong).
Edit:
OK, I tested this now. (homm complete)
Basically, it's like the berserk spell totally screws up the AI.
1) Sometimes the unit doesn't move at all, even if another unit is next to it. If that happens, it is still beserked the next round.
2) If there are no units within range, sometimes the beserked unit moves toward another unit, somtimes it doesn't.
3) Sometimes the unit will move toward another unit one round, but not the next.
4) When the unit doesn't move, the text box doesn't show it defended or waited either one. It doesn't show anything at all for that unit.
5) One time the unit didn't move and nothing showed in the text box. But the unit got moral which DID show in the text box saying ".......attacks again". But the unit just stood there and nothing else showed in the text box. (and they remained beserked)
6) When they don't move, they do not get the 20% defense bonus like they would defending.
7) The beserk spell doesn't expire. (or at least it lasts longer than 1 round per spell power)
8) You can not beserk and hypnotize the same unit. If you hypnotize a beserked unit, it REPLACES the beserk. And vice versa. Only the last spell cast will affect the unit.
I didn't see it in my tests, but in games I think I've seen beserked units actually attack and were still beserked the next round.
Something else I *think* I've seen in games before is beserked AAs resurrecting allied units.
Also, beserked ranged units always melee attack.
So here's a question: I beat 70000 (7X9999) Arch Devils with one dragon fly, no damage spells and no summoning. How? Answering "berserk" isn't enough, there's more to it than that.

Quote: You can easily win with just 2(3) spells....slow and blind (bless), if u donīt forget your ammocart...
He he...
My ammocart had already destroyed by Faerie Dragons in Pandora's Box. I had no time to come back to my town. Also, I didn't see any War Machine Factory.
The nearest town (still neutral), closed by border guard. then the Keymaster Tent guarded by Legion of Nagas.....
LOL
but If we cast clone, the clone can still shoot. then If the clone's shoot is empty, just attack with the clone, and make other clone....

The answer is having Mullich with cape of velocity, Exp slow/ force field and berserk.
Round 1 mass slow, round 2 force field, round 3 berserk, then again FF/berserk/FF/berserk/FF/berserk.....Slow/FF/.....
Requires about 1 gazillion SP and it's as fun as an english joke

That doesnt show how good you are, it shows how weak the AI routine is. Try that against a human and stop spanking the comp.

True. The idea just popped into my head and I wanted to see if I could do it. Next time you run into 70000 ADs in MP, let me know how it turns out.
Besides, what if I like spanking the monkey?....I mean comp
@Tigris
Yea, it's actually fairly easy. Don't forget spirit of oppression.
You don't need forcefield. And it doesn't take as long as you might think. Judging by the spell points I used, I'd guess maybe 40-50 rounds.
The ADs will be speed 8 and you can make them dance with the fly. But if you let an AD get in a center hex, you're dead. I did the whole thing using only two hexes.
Starting out you will only be able to beserk 5 stacks. Eventually the other two stacks will join.
Here's the only tricky part. You will end up with one stack left. You'll have to kill that stack with cloned flys. So you want to keep the AD stacks close to the same size. They will gang up on one stack, so you'll end up with a few stacks almost full strength.
To keep the last two stacks the same size, you can use disruption ray. You can also use blind to control who attacks first. If you manage it carefully, you can get the last stack down to just a few ADs which aren't hard to kill with the cloned flys (with 107 attack, exp offense and buffed, did 40 damage).

I may have missed the beginning of this thread, but what's up with offensive spells like implo, lightning, or even magic arrow?
