how do i prevent/detect cheating

i joined toh to avoid quiters and cheaters, but how can i tell when someone is cheating?  is playing a saved game ahead of time considered cheating?  if you are the host with the saved game can people still use cheat codes and stuff.  if i am going to spend multiple hours playing a game i don't want to get slammed by someone who will do anything to win, or just trying to peek ahead of time, maybe at strengths and resources.  what do you all think?

That is what the Password protect is for.  Make sure you always use it. That way they cannot look at saves.

Problem solved.

Yes, indeed use the password protection for these things.

Also, personally I would make a save file every day.  You can learn alot and you will generally always be able to tell if someone is cheating from your saves.

ToH is not devoid of cheaters unfortunately, but I wouldn't let any paranoia over them ruin your gaming competition either.

Best regards and good luck to you.
