chaos spells damage
This is how much damage the spells do. Probably someone has written this already but here it is again. Tell me if I make a mistake.
Base damage: herolvl + 10
Spell multiplier:
spark 2
magic arrow 3
fireball/ring/inferno/ageddon 4
fire bolt 5
lightning 7
chain lightning 8
implosion 9
disintegrate 11
Bonus multiplier:
gm pyro: +100%
gm sorcery: +100%
eye of chaos (grailstruct): +50%
mayhem staff: +50%
archmage: +20%
Let's take the disintegrate of a level 20 hero: base 330.
If you have all 5 bonuses, then it is not as follows:
330 x 2 x 2 x 1.5 x 1.5 x 1.2 = 330 x 10.8 = 3564
instead, it is as follows:
330 x (1 + 100% + 100% + 50% + 50% + 20%) = 330 x 4.2 = 1386
That should kill about 6 level4 creatures.
The hand of death from the death school also kills 6 creatures, if the hero is level 20.
But that hero needs no gm sorcery, eye of chaos, mayhem staff, and archmageship.
If he had staff of death, it would be 7.5 dead creatures.
So my conclusion, I think chaos magic's directdamage spells are not so good, as they are now. You invest so many skills and other things, and then still you are not a greatly feared direct damage caster. And I usually cast other spells like misfortune, confusion, in battles with lots of creatures.
I think they should apply the multiplication method.
Then sorcery + pyro would make x400%, mayhem staff added would make x600%, and eye of chaos also, would make x900%.
That makes the direct damage spells worthwile, and the mayhem staff and eye of chaos something desirable.
The mayhem staff occupies both hands.

slow them down
spells like fatigue, slow and binding don't seem to work together: the target moves 1/2 speed and movement.
But aging, from the ghosts, does work together with those spells and can make it 1/4, so that the speed and movement usually become 2 or 1.
