Sorry, but I must disagree with the idea about day and night. It would change just too much. I like the good old heroes style. Bad idea, guys!

If it would have night\day in game a week would last 14 turns and a month 56.

I think having day and night, and weather, is a good idea. But instead of having alternate turns being night and day, we can have the following system:
A player gets his turn as normal, starting at the day. When his normal movement is completed, he goes into the night, where he can choose if he wish to move his hero by another 50% at "night". Doing so will cause a penalty in morale, and the attack/defence will be reduced the next day.
In view of "night" factions like necromancy, the converse is true. He starts at night, and moves as above. But instead of morale and stats decrement, you lose some units (destroyed by daylight), say by 1% or reduced HP.
For stealth purposes, the hero may choose to "camp" for the day, and gets to move 75% of his movement rate in the day, and receives no penalty in morale or stats. He can move by stealth during this period.

No, no, I dont agree with changing the good old turn system thats here from Heroes 1. And it would also make the game too complicated. And it is also impossible, i.e. the heroes meeting, or if you move with 1 hero at day and wanto move also at night, what about your other heroes? Will they have day all time? Or will their turn start at night?

To make things simpler, perhaps the "day" and "night" is relative to the hero who is moving. I know that there will be a lot of problems in the game mechanics though, especially when two heroes meets.

OH come on... That would be NOT HoMM!! You can't upgrade the game until it's not anything like it was before. Night&day is 100% IMPOSSIBLE in HoMM. If you want night and day, go play WoW, RYL or any other game like that.

Day and Night could work if you weren't in a normal 24-hour planet. FOR EXAMPLE if the expansion pack plot involved liches attempting to stop the rotation of the planet, then as the campaign progressed the intervals of day and night would grow longer. 24 hours of day, then 24 of night... you could also have spells that prematurely toggle day/night. This way the turn system would be unnaffected.

I think I'd prefer to explore possibilities rather than downright rejecting any idea. Afterall, this is the Altar of Wishes. Though the idea may not work out eventually, there is no harm trying to contribute ideas.
There is another possiblity though.
Each "turn", a hero receives a day turn, and a night turn. Heroes move as normal during the day turn, and when they end the day turn, they can choose to move additionally with 50% movement points at night. The penalties apply as above.

How does this create a completely different game? We are still having the good old turn based strategy game involving the hero-creature system. All there is is a proposal for a new movement/ turn-based mechanism. What is different here? If you find the concept impossible, please explain. I am rather stupid here, and I do not see what is so impossible or complicated.
Besides, this is the Altar of Wishes forum, not the developer/ programmers forum. Whatever ideas presented here need not be implemented in the actual game. If the developer feels that this is a bad idea, they can laugh off the idea. Just let them decide. I just want to try to contribute ideas on how it can be done, rather than blatantly rejecting the idea without giving a second thought on it. Please respect the ideas that people can contribute.

Ok, discuss what you want. Its an open forum, and I dont want to spoil the fun. I just want to tell you my oppinion: Im not going to like the game if it has night and day. As I imagine it, it looks just not like the good old Heroes...
When I come to a good argument why shouldnt Heroes have night and day, I will mail you.
