Becoming Proficient at Playing HOMM
I have just started playing HOMM3. How much experience does it take to get proficient at this game? I just began the campaign and I seem to get my a** kicked quite promptly.
I guess it is a matter of persistence.

There's an easy way to see if you really are a 100% beginner. Play me! If you aren't you'll most probably win. I'm with the series since 1997 and still play really badly.

just wait and you`ll get better, just play with necropolis or castle...and you`ll win. by the way...is that long live the queen you`ve started? and if you think you`re losing, don`t give up, in those wicked campaigns you never know what happens..

...Especially in Liberation camp that I'm stuck with. 
Hey, and don't play only for necro and castle! Rampart's great too! Also Fortress and Stronghold can be good...

i think all it comes down to is practice. all you need to do is have good resorce management and plenty of troops. a bit of strategy on the battlefield doesnt go astray either. work out what units are good for what and defend your your arches and use your flying units for attacking ranged units. and fortify your castle. build up your town hall assoon as posible so you can get lots of cash. try out all the different sides to see wich one suits your playing style best. ummmm cant think of anything elese.
