Your point would be close to being relevant Dargon, if more than one of those quotes was mine, and my quote wasn't out of context entirely. You can't ask me to defend other people's point of views, I was defending my own thank you.
My quote was meant as a comment on the two different ways of operating such a programme, and not as a direct criticism, the american way has advantages also, namely it usually is adaptable to crisis (as on appollo 13) etc. Russia's is not perfect either (oops am I know Russia Bashing?). Tell you what the european space programme is underfunded does this make me european bashing?
Next time pay attention to who makes the quotes and not accuse me of other's attitudes please.

What European Space Program?
Quote: I very much regret about Shuttle, seems to me this tragedy not only America, but all world !
I don't want to justify my country, but to nobody a secret, that in Russia bad financing of astronautics - and some projects are sold to America, for example engines... It's impossible to speak prejudicedly. This remark concerning development of the Russian astronautics is inappropriate, as here the question is not the one who is better, but what to do further (I agree with Odwin).
P.S. Give to throw a stone in your side! Recollect, that to this Shuttle already more than 20 years!
Ehm, I don't get some sentences of yours...
Those engines weren't sold. They were bought by mcdonnal-douglass because they were superior.
PS, I'm Belgian (Europe...)

What PH meant to say was that his, and our, posts were not US bashing but in fact objective and provided accurate remarks in regards to the US space program. He used the other examples to demonstrate that he also admits the vices of the European and Soviet space programs.
Hope that helps Rey, and hope that's correct PH

Here is something you and others just don't seem to get. The time to critique a countries space program is NOT right after a tragedy and lives have been lost. That is basic common sense and human respect.

And the time to make accusations, no matter how true about the Iraqui people when their country may come under major attack, putting their lives in danger is not fair either. Is there anyone sticking up for them as much as we worry about the feelings of americans? Is it not human respect to realise that Iraqui people have no care about less than a dozen people on the other side of the world when they are starving and dying all the time and now face the threat of war?
I was just answering an remark about that and then a question, other than that I would have stayed quiet on the whole issue.
And europe does have some space programmes, mainly to my recollection centering around satelites and the international space station.
