actually if u get 2 barbs (only barbs) u can get a woman and a man barb and they are different in appearance and if u evolve in an advanced class they will certainly look different (if not same class and gender)
give it a little time, you'll grow to like it

One think I love about heroes 4, is the power of the heroes can gain, with the secondary skills a heroe can be a real heroe with magic, strength, and the not combat skills I think is fun

I think heroes 4 it is better than heroes 3 by far, the only problem here being the lack of the random map generator. I think heroes 3 was such a success because every game was different.
And I totaly agree with Valkyrica about logistic,wisdom,air,earth.... and not to speak about if we play random on an L map and one got Kyrre as a main hero and other got straker, or piqedrim or other useless hero.
So heroes 4 is much better, less the random map part

haile, you don't have to be on the zone to be a good player, i thought you knew that by now, i have thousands of heroes3 games played, and not being on the zone was because i didn't know about toh and our internet connections were slow, but we had lan tournaments all the time ... prizes and all, so grow up !

i'm with haile on this one. I've played many many new players who say how good they r etc etc, and only one who backed it up with ability was archie.
Normally i get told how much amazing luck i have and how unbalanced the map was, when i hit them in week 3 or 4

Oh yeah, I remember looking for new recruits for my div and I saw the promising records of three guys called Archdevil666, TheVinz and Bjorn190.
They were on zone a lot and all three of them claimed to be good players.
I challenged all 3 of them to a duel to c how good they really were.
Vinz beat me, mostly because I didn't get haste in 4 (!) towns and my droids and dwarves (double built and some dwells; kinda Joe-tactic there ) couldn't reach his troops.
Archie ran over me like I wasn't there.
And Bjorn... well he had a great sense of humor and I had a few good laughs; especially when he reached lvl 5 at the start of week 4. lol

H4 is clear winner here.
More strategys, more tactics , more balanced
H3 is also nice (but less , ofcourse)

Well I donīt like some things in heroes 4, like necropolis and inferno towns combination , and we havenīt many cool creatures like Dreath knights, liches, thunderbirds, dendroids ... but I still thinking Heroes 4 is a great game

it's the little things
Like not bothering to personalize heroe images or to have them change and evolve as the heroe evolves. I personally find h4 a more satisfying and strategic game to play then h3. But I deplore the way they missed out on so many aspects of the game. Sure the game was a finacial success for the company, but it also may have been the online turn based break thru game we have all wanted but they botched that aspect of it. Who knows how well the game would have done online if it had been done properly.
Of course the answer to this is that 3DO has never given a damn about the online gamers. The inclusion of multi play was never anything but an afterthought in any of there games to begin with. We kid ourselves if we think that online play ever contributed to much of the profit margin for the company. At h3's best you'd go into the zone and see maybe 150-200 players as compared to an RTS such as AOE where you'd see over 1000 or more players in the rooms on a reg. basis. The numbers were against the peeps who play the game online from the beginning. For every 1000 HOMM games sold you'd be lucky to get 1 person to ever play it online.
Which saddens me the most, as I think this game if done right could truly have had a huge online presence, but now we will never know. Maybe HOMM5 ?
