Little More Organization Please (Maps)

To Bobntamr1, and all other mapmakers and people who send maps over:

I just recieved a slew of attachments of maps either zipped or not from bobntamr1 and a few others.  However, some were resends of something that needed to be fixed on the map, or something or other something.

Sounds confusing? yes it is.

My POINT:  If you plan to send a map, make sure it is already fixed.  I dont plan to update a new map to the website if it needs to be fixed the next day and again the day after.  Its a waste of my time.  It also shows in my eyes the map wasnt ready in the first place.  Bob currently has some computer problems so, he only forwards the maps...they arent playtested from what I see.

So those 10 or so map attachements in my email today? I sent them into the trash can without even looking at them.

yes.you got right.
still, nobody can eat the whole blame-pie

_you're not as close a used to
_map council is in dormant
_map bugs in homm4,are much more hidden than homm3,cause of scripting and more complex adveture mapstructure(passabalities, guard blockades etc). So,some may be discovered on 3rd-4th play.

+ we re kinda yoohoo as homm4 community

One thing to keep in mind......

We do tend to take for granted that ToH is run and operated by volunteers whom take some of their time to make things happen.

Let's cool our heels here........

..and this is highly appreciated by most..
but, that dont mean its a 'drag'..i imagine that can be at times..even playing can be a drag at times!
theres no use in volunteering though,if dont feel good about it..if dont feel the creativity in it.

just some thotss

PLaying can be a drag........

A quick player like me playing Zud is a drag........

PLaying 6-8 hours against Insatiable and losing very badly is a drag.......

Forgetting to remove the Mind Shield and attempting to cast mass precision on 300 halflings is a drag.........

Mixing thunderbirds and bone dragons is a drag....

I've sent Ves an email I'd just like to say publicly that the Map council does play test all maps before we send them to Ves and that maps often need new versions because of problems such as balance that aren't easily apparent from a play test.

Also the reason so many maps were sent at once is that Bobortam has been very sick the last couple of months and he was just going through all his emails. I believe all those maps were suitable for posting, I had tested 4 of them myself.

LMAO! I am so very glad that you had read what I sent you a couple of months ago. In not doing so appearantly you have missed out on why you got the slew of e-mails today, and the whole of the maps that have been ready for a month or so ...
