Attack Syria?
OK folks, now that the Iraq war is basically over, its time we start focusing on something relevant here.
We had our "Attack Iraq" thread that was very well debated, now we should be ready to debate what may be the next potential battlefield (for us Heroes Community guys that is!)
Anyways, there are some startling revelations coming out about Syria and we all know how this country has behaved in the past (invading Lebanon for one). Syria is now apperently harboring Iraqi fugitives and storing banned weapons.
Hmmm, doesn't look like this kind of information will bode well for this country's leaders.

Well I think that we should just go and kill them to,if they are going to harbor Iraq troops they should die like Iraq troops. Why would they do that don't they know that they are going to die! I mean they just seen us go crazy on the whole of them,I think I'd chossen a diff. plan of action beside the plan of death

Personally I think Bush should just leave. His dad messed up now we got him following in his footsteps. First Bush Sr. went to war with Sadumb (not a typo) then after the war he says "Screw peace LETS BOMB PANAMA!". Well look at whats goin on now......Bush Jr. goes to war YET AGAIN with Sadumb (again no typo) and then whoops "Forget peace let's decide if we wanna go after Syria who MAY be harboring iraquis". BAH

Panama?
Theres a huge battle we all forgot about.....LMAO. Yeah, Bush Sr. is a real warmonger startin the whole Panama thing, right?....LOL
BTW, Panamanian forces murdered U.S. citizens and troops there before the U.S. forces ousted Noriega.
BAH to you little back sheep.....go run to your dreamworld where war is nevermore and it rains flower petals and magic raibows have pots of gold at the end.....if only it could be like that then people wouldn't have to fight.
But until then, unless you are willing to fight for something, you better believe someone else will and they will knock you right over the head for it and run away laughing.

As you'll recall Israel did.

Some of which were sold to them with the approval of the........... BRITISH government!

Oh please, and the fact that the US waited until the very year the canal would cease to be American property to install a new regime there is pure co-incidence?

That's one of the excuses they gave yes. The fact that they solved nothing, didn't remove the Syrians and did nothing to prevent massacres says much though. Guess who was in charge of that invasion then? Yup Ariel Sharon.........

He had as much say as going in there as Tommy Franks did on Iraq.....he was an army general, not a politician at the time.
Thats like linking the fact that Bush Sr. flew a bomber in WW2 to the fact that he had his military use jets to deliver bombs in the Iraq compaign.

I almost forgot...
....so what if Ariel Sharon was in the army during that time? Does that mean that we are going to see another Egypt/Isreal war? Whats your point? You dont like conservative jews who have been in the military and are now politicians so you make some sort of alluding comment?

Quote: ....so what if Ariel Sharon was in the army during that time?
He wasn't just "in the army", he commanded the invasion forces, another matter entirely, he is responsible for the troops he commands and their actions.
Quote: Does that mean that we are going to see another Egypt/Isreal war?
Unlikely, Egypt is incapable of beating Israel alone.
Quote: Whats your point? You dont like conservative jews who have been in the military and are now politicians so you make some sort of alluding comment?
No, I was saying that electing a known anti-arab general from the extreme right wing of the political spectrum, known to be responsible for dubious acts in the Lebanon war, and known for his unpredictability and uncontrolable nature in 1973 doesn't garuntee anything but violence in return for violence. I've nothing against conservative jews, but if people elect someone like Sharon, they get what they voted for, extreme responses to palestinian terrorism and little attempts at diplomacy. His brand of solving terrorism and fighting Arab irregulars failed in the lebanon, there's no reason to believe it will be different in Israel today.
Quote: He had as much say as going in there as Tommy Franks did on Iraq.....he was an army general, not a politician at the time.
Not strictly true, Sharon has long been a right wing politician or involved in such parties since at least 1973 when he was actively working against Golda Meir in the middle of Israel's crisis time of the war. His actions in the conflict reflect his nature and political standpoint.

To answer the question - no.
If you really feel that Syria must be attacked, feel free to do so at your own personal expense and risk.

its threads like this one which makes me wonder how dumb a human being potentially can get.
Do you we must have another war after this one?
Whats wrong with having no war at all?
oh... so your news wont be as exciting then? things like this pisses me off.
war aint a good thing, for christ sake its a terrible thing.
people get killed, how would you feel if your brother went to combat and he got killed in it?
exactly, we dont need to have another war unless really extreme circumstances (meaning: not Bush needs another war to raise his popularity for the next election ).

I have only one word for those who want to attack Syria:
There is no point in attacking Syria.
Syria does NOT pose a threat to American life or any other Western life, unlike Iraq or North Korea. If you want to remove a "threat of terror", why don't you concentrate on removing North Korea instead of Syria. After all, they are the new threat to the global society.

What the hell, people? I am raising a hypothetical question for debate....not for my own personal gain. Chill the **** out.
Let's return to the questions and problems posed, not bashing me for raising the subject, like we can ignore it.

Ok. There has been much media attention dealing in the speculation that Syria might be secretly supporting terrorist organisations such Al-Qaeda by diverting government money into their bank accounts in Europe.
If this is true, then by attacking Syria, the terrorists will lose a major source of income or maybe even a potential ally. Therefore, striking back at the US and its allies will be their only option.
