Which is the best hero for you?Which is the best skill for you?
I would like to know which "combination" of skills you like more in your hero. For example, I like the Assasin (Death Magic/Combat I think) and the Battle Mage (Order Magic/ Combat), because they blend powerful spells with physical power, strong attack and magic resistance. And please, don't tell me that you love the Archmage(because this is everyone's favourite).
Secondly, which is your favourite skill? As for me, I like Tactics and Chaos Magic(da best magic of da game)
Nobility is the worst for me (too...financial!)

I try to have 2 heroes, one that fights and one that cast spells.
The combat hero would have combat, tactics, scouting, nobility
The other one I try to make him an archmage, with chaos, necro, and order sometimes.

I think assassin is very good, also. He has a lot of movement, and can cast raise ghost to weaken the enemy very much, fatigue to make the slowing 75%, and vampiric touch to make himself undefeatable. And of course the mass weakening spells.
A Paladdin is also strong, because life spells are good for protecting and healing yourself: cast spirit armour, xx ward, and regeneration in the beginning. Without life magic you have more trouble healing your hero. Also give him basic nature magic for stone skin, pathfinding and speed.
I also did well with a combination of the two, the assassin was fighting and the paladdin casting the protections onto him.
My main army with the creatures must have something of everything, scouting, pathfinding, tactics skills, nobility, diplomacy. If you give those might heroes a little magic skill, you can make them very useful. Casting a single-creature curse or bless is much more effective than shooting with advanced or expert archery, I think.

Warlords are good especially if you're using a stronghold town with breeding pens- population growth + 100% I think...

Breeding pens give creature growth +50%.
The might town's grail structure, the Festival of Life, gives you another +100%. The best grail structure of all, I think.

demonologist, and assassin.
a good demonologist is the only guy who can afford to lose e.g. 50 venom spawns every fight, day in day out, and also the only guy who can "drag" those spawns along without killing the army speed. tends to run out of spell points fairly quickly, though...
and assassin, for reasons described above. havent had the chance to develop one myself, but seeing how vampirically touched dogwoggle won every fight without a scratch convinced me of the value of the combination of tough fighting with death magic. another question is if they should be on the same hero. it might be cheaper to have two guys -- one with GM Combat everything, and another for the death magic support. much less experience is required to develop these 2 heroes than 1 with both abilities.
