Heroes fans crusade to support morally and financially Heroes series
.During these difficult times ,i think its time for the heroes community to show its love and dedication for maybe one of the best turn based strategy game ever made.
I think we owe it to ourselves ,to this wonderfull game ,and especially to the visionaries who made this great game happen ,and despite the current difficulties ,THEY STILL TRY TO SAVE IT.
I trully believe that Heroes is an exceptional game and thats exactly why it has exceptional fans ,maybe the most hard core, passionate and dedicated fans in the gaming industry.Fans that after so many years they still have enough passion to play the game, to participate to the community ,to make suggestions about the future of the game,and also sometimes to argue about certain aspects of the game  .I think noone can forget the death threats received from NWC, concerning the "FORGE" issue lol(i still cant believe that lol  ,or even the fearsome fights between HEROES 3 and HEROES 4 fans .
Some of us,have even created a team (THE WOG team)that produced a modified version of the game ,some others have created a custom made RANDOM MAP GENENERATOR for HEROES 4(tnx SLAVA ),and please lets not forget the numerous TOURNAMENT coordinators that have invested serious amounts of money and time: TOH(tnx vesuvius for everything),MYTHS( kitten ,raven ,motor,andi)WIZARDS AND WARRIORS,THE BASTARD TOURNEY,THE HEROES LEAGUE and many others.
One thing is sure, the size and the passion of the heroes community(throughout the last 8 years) has proved that "Heroes of might and magic" is indeed a unique and exceptional game that HAS EARNED THE RIGHT TO SURVIVE AND CONTINUE TO EXIST.Its time for us now to gather our strength and to make this public ,to let the gaming industry know that this game deserves to survive and that there are a large number of supporters who care about the fate of Heroes of might and magic series.
So i have few suggestions to make:
1)The LEADERS of the heroes community must come to an agreement in order to COORDINATE THE ACTIONS OF THE NUMEROUS HEROES FANS.I think its time for VESUVIUS,ANGLESPIT ,PSYCHOBABBLE,KITTEN,RAVEN,AIR ETC,to step out and mobilise the fans in order to achieve coordinated action towards the gaming industry.
2)Create a team of volunteers that will help the leaders coordinate the fans,and to decide exactly what type of action is needed
3)We have to mobilise all the fans, especially the old fans of the series.Many of them are right now inactive but i bet they still care about the fate of the game.When we will have decided exactly what type of action we will take ,i think it will be a good idea to email them and ask them for their support
4)suggested type of actions:
a)MASSIVE EMAILING TO SOME SOFTWARE HOUSES THAT MIGHT HAVE AN INTEREST IN "HEROES OF MIGHT AND MAGIC SERIES".
b)MASSIVE PREORDERING OF THE HEROES 5 GAME(even if this is done only unofficially ,lets say preorder the game to Jon Van Caneghem)I really dont care if i loose 50 dollars, that's the least i can do in order to show him my moral support.
c)INDIVIDUAL DONATIONS OF A MORE OR LESS SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF MONEY FROM A LARGE ENOUGH NUMBER OF MEMBERS(in 2 conditions).First the procedure concerning the donnations must be transparent,and the person in charge must be a respected and honourable member of the Heroes community,preferably some of the "leaders of the community",and second there must be a large enough number of donnators in order to effectively help NWC, and not waste our money .(i m prepared to give 1000$ if these 2 conditions are fullfiled).
.I know that this letter has a romantic side ,and that many of us are already mature men and women with real life problems,families ,jobs ,hobbies etc(i am a 35 years old lawyer,engaged,no kids yet,living in northen Greece).
But i also know that i will never love a game as much as "Heroes of might and magic" again.....

that's true fiction my friend  whom do u want to donate money, do u really think they will use it for creating heroes5, it prolly use it so pay some of their debts . And how much do u think u will collect 100 *50 $ i think is top. The will pay a employee for a month

.Well i have to admit that i wasnt expecting that kind of feedback,a bit too sarcastic for my taste and without any real reason,dont you think?
Anyway Titan ,since i really have no interest at all arguing with somebody like you,and since i really dont enjoy public tossing (and flaming),i ll pass,for now .
I just wanted to say to you,that when you see a post and if you have nothing really to say,well....just leave it alone,man ,simple isnt it .

Hello again
The deletion of Titans post gives me the opportunity to write few thoughts about the censhorship problem and make few suggestions about how to deal with this serious problem .
a)First of all i recognize that the moderator by deleting titans post ,he was trying to protect me and my thread from abusif posts.I believe that he had nothing personal against titan he just thought that his post wasnt constructive.So i guess its evident that his intentions were good ,no doubt about that.
b)Concerning Titans first post ,well i have to say that i was unpleasantly surprised when i saw it,it was a bit sarcastic and not constructive at all,that's why i gave him the appropriate response.To be exact i would call titans post malicious ,but on the other hand i have to admit that this post wasnt insulting(he didnt use "bad " words,no direct insults etc).
So we have a well intended moderator deleting a malicious but not insulting post.What do we do now,thats the tricky question.
Well we can find the answer to this question if we answer another question "A)IS CENSORSHIP REALLY NECESSARY AND B)IF YES WHAT PURPOSES MUST SERVE IN ORDER TO BE JUSTIFIED" what do we try to acheive by deleting posts in this messageboard.
Before we answer this question ,we must not forget one very important thing though,that the deletion of a post (CENSORSHIP)is a limitation of the freedom of speech,and thats always bad!!(even when we delete an insulting or offensive post).
Its even worse in an online community like this one,because here we have ONLY 2 freedoms, the freedom to a)PLAY and b) the freedom to COMMUNICATE,thats all(For example we dont have the freedom to vote ,the freedom to work,the freedom to physically defend ourselves or the freedom to seek help from an authority like the courts. Generally speaking we dont have all the other freedoms we have in real life).
So the members of an online community like this one, EXIST only by doing 2 things, play and communicate,and by sensoring them we SACRIFICE their right to communicate(A VERY IMPORTANT SACRIFICE) in order to acheive a purpose, a goal.
So now we return to our primary basic question "A)IS CENSORSHIP REALLY NECESSARY AND B)IF YES WHAT PURPOSES MUST SERVE IN ORDER TO BE JUSTIFIED"
Well, every society has the right to defend itself,it has the right to self preservation,and i think its fair to admit that this forum will be unbearable and soon will die if everyone comes here and insults everybody.So i guess ,a MINIMUM FORM OF CENSORSHIP IS NECESSARY in order to preserve the existence of the forum.
On the other hand ANYTHING MORE THAN THAT(MINIMUM CENSORSHIP) CANCELS THE REASON OF EXISTENCE OF THIS FORUM(and also cancels the members too).I mean there is no point to come to this messageboard if we cant speak freely,and we cant always agree or be pleasant to eachother.
But AS LONG AS THE EXISTENCE OF THE MESSAGEBOARD(AND THE COMMUNITY) IS NOT THREATEN ,THEN THE USE OF CENSHORSHIP HAS THE OPPOSITE EFFECT,IT DESTROYS AND CANCELS THE EXISTENCE OF THE FORUM AND THE EXISTANCE OF THE MEMBERS).
So the bottom line is that if there are no insults ,no use of foul language,then there is no excuse for censhorship,because it has the opposite effect,it cancels the forum and the members.
That way of course ,the tossing and the destruction of the threads remains unpunished.Well i have a mild way to suggest in order to penalise our tossers friends ,maybe we should give them the "Blue star of tossing " everytime they toss a thread,but this has to be done in a very regular basis (and not exceptionally as we do now with the - quality point).Soon enough the real tossers lol ,will end up with a galaxy of blue stars ,then the moderator (when a certain number of blue stars is reached),will have the right to replace the old title of the tossers avatar with a new one(of his choice,example :supreme knight of the tossers etc ) ,some sort of decoration ,a recognition of his tossing skills .

Ok, first of all, I'm a SHE not a HE. I was most definitely only trying to help keep at least one topic on the whole dang board on track, which is impossible. 2nd. I only very rarely edit anyone's post or hand out any penalty's so don't give me that "Out of hand moderator" crap because that's what it is. Titan, you were deliberately malicious and absolutely 100% not constructive and added absolutely nothing to the attempted thread which is now so derailed that it is completely worthless. I thought the topic was novel and unusual and didn't want the same typical crap creeping into it that usually does. Since I most definitely offended you Titan, I apologize, it wasn't my intention to insult you by deleting your post in any way. I am sorry for the disruption my use of the moderating skills has caused I will now go back to not using them.
