Trip to Hawaii 7-13 to 7-23
Me and Mel are taking off to Hawaii, so I will be out of touch with email (I think). I've done all the necessary updates, and Mel has updated the player photo page.
Anyone in living in Honolulu reading this, perhaps we can meet up for a lunch or something over there....

Rob, by the way........
Did you want us/me/anyone to handle new regs while you're gone? I'd be happy to do it, but I forgot to ask before you left and don't want to step on your toes without knowing if you had plans to handle them from there.

OMG!!
When I saw this thread I almost expected something like:
"The HC trip to hawaii is gonna take place from 7-13 to 7-23 we are staying at the luau hotel in the west wing, if your looking for a reservation call +1 546 86 23 49"
And that was so unfair! :U CAUSE I CANT AFFORD TO GO!!
Otherwise it would be really cool to have a hc hawaii trip some day.

I've seen Greystole in the zone a couple of times in the past month or so. Last time I saw him he was on DND and most likely playing a game. So, seems to me he's still around......?

Hope you had a great time in Hawaii. I've been there once, and I'm sure you'll have to agree that it's just a beautiful place.

The photos always look like a great place. I'd like to see some of that slow lava up close if I ever go.
Seems kinda tropical in many areas, ......so are there alot of bugs? I have never heard complaints about any, but just had a wonder now.

Clan wars wont be getting much more active. It is a great system, however I think the system is kinda backwords. Basically, The more a strong clan plays the stronger they get and the easier it gets for them. Shouldnt it work the other way around?? The longer they play the more they conquer the harder it should get? Think of that little tractor at the fair that the little kids gotta peddle the farther they peddle the weight gets heavier and heavier and harder it gets etc.
At the current stage of clans, there is only a few clans that have enough artifacts to compete with each other. No new clans will start up and there is virtually no point in the rest of the clans even attempting wars. Hard enough to beat an all Lord+ clan anyways, let alone when they each have 5-10 artifacts lol.
So maybe should just move right to clan finals....
My opinion never really counts for much anymore, but just thought I would offer it anyways hehe

weeeell....
in the real world, whenever emperors tried to build empires, their empires became harder and harder to control as they grew larger and eventually when they got too big they collapsed. so yes, it would be logical that the more lands you have the more PENALTIES you have rather than BONUSES.

Clans - Basics - Chapter one
Quote: so yes, it would be logical that the more lands you have the more PENALTIES you have rather than BONUSES.
this sounds like ...masochism ."let's try our best,to feel a stronger pain"
I wonder what reason could drive someone NORMAL to take this decision ? Every succsesfull effort deserves a prize ,i think.
If we look in the history, the expansion of one empire means that it gets closer to more civilzations (clans in our case), make them THINK how to protect their threatend independence. As a result , they should try to find a common solution, to ally (in our case to exchange strategies making an anti(that)clan funclub ) in order to have more chances to win and backing off his enemy.
IMHO,a greater empire means
- more fights (experience),
- more territories (having more info about other civilizations allows it to find easier custom solutions for every type of battle that can bring incoming victory nearer)
- with every land conquered its army became larger, cause of forced recruitment (THIS WILL NEVER APPLY IN OUR CASE, BECAUSE WE ARE AFRAID TO RELY ON OTHERS ..."NEIGHBOURS" from toh ) (here meaning artifacts)
could be more but i don't want to be annoying , if only i didn't miss this chance yet
In the history ,the only explanations for collapse of a great empire were inner-fights or women. (IN OUR CASE, none could be applied
As a conclusion, you'd better start looking for some girls which can drive us crazy, making losing our minds, OTHERWISE the things will go on as before
......or maybe you should play disguised yourself clangames with us, don't try naked, because we are already tired of seeing this ,everyday on GS
have a nice day

Also, the " Fall of the Empire" so to speak comes in clan form as " Inactivity and Lack of weaker/newer clans participating" As I said, with the current format, there or only maybe 3-4 clans Tops that will continue to war on that map in clans.
I am just hoping that clans ends really fast now so that I can join Clans2 and participate for first couple months until 3-4 clans each get 10 artifacts then that clans be ruined also hehe.
As much as people hate inactivity you would think people would want to do the things that would solve the problem...instead the same fate is gonna happen to H4 that happened to H3. People arent gonna accept change and H4 wil die just as H3 did. Granted H3 was an old game so that helped H3 die, but I think ultimately H3 coulda lived alot longer if the player base woulda been willing to change formats up and do different things.
Anyways, I am babbling like Teacher now so I gonna stop before I get annoying too.

lol, i know you don't want to admit it Jinxer but H3 isn't dead, it has more activity then H4 does. lol Old? yes. Dead? not at all. And due to the fact I do respect your opinion, yes you do get under my skin sometimes with the "H3 is dead" stuff. lol. No offense though. To each his/her own opinion.
Truth be told, I really like H4 and should probably give it a chance online, but if the transfer rates are what everybody says they are, after one game, I would lose interest.
Off Topic again:
Why doesn't anybody complain about the Vial of Acid? it seems to be pretty strong against the undead.
On topic:
Ves, got any videos from you trip to hawaii? Preferably similar to the hotseat video =P

Chubby I hear what your saying and I guess you are right. If you are basing the " Deadness on the fact that H3 has more activity then H4" then ofcourse H3 isnt dead.
I was with TOH H3 back when it started in March 1999. It was Simyar back then. And when I unfairly refer to it as Dead, I am comparing it NOT to H4, But I am comparing it to the activity levels and amount of players in the first 3 seasons of TOH/SImyar H3.
Also granted the Zone may still have average of 50 players a night in there, but how many of that 50 are actually veteran players? Maybe 20? The rest are newbies that are either gonna try the game for 2 weeks or 1 day or just floating in etc.
I am getting burnt out on H4 already lol... so one good thing I can say about H3 is it held my attention for 4 years hehe.
