Better email him. Last I heard from him was a farewell. He retired and I think I remember him saying he would be moving as well.

No need to guess about those reasons; he was a great player.
I do hope no-one is starting anything remotely close to flaming.
He was one of the best players TOH ever saw.

Frank left TOH and homm right after he received a major penalty reminding him to play honorable as it is expectd by a long time vteran.
looks like he didnt like the idea of being forced to play by the rules anyone has to follow in TOH and left.

Thx Schaaf...
Can we just leave it at this plz?
Even if it's just stating facts; it's still not fair to talk about some1 when he can't defend himself here.

franks H3 skills are slightly above average . his skills were focused on a handfull of maps so he fits in same cathegory that most players do.
thats not flaming thats just stating of facts. i played a ton of players in my toh career and the games vs frank wasnt as close of a challenge when i compare em to games vs antal, andi or VEX. THIS are really outstanding players who cankick your butt on any given map because they really know the game.
@kuma : someone asked a question and i just answered it.
@ prometheus : you joined the EQ gang too ? im on kael drakkal playing a barbarian shaman of the 52th corpse run. whats your char ?

indeed - and thats why toh rank does not mean a CENSORED when talking about true skill. every noob can become empereor playing only his fav maps vs guys he knows he will beat. thats nothing really hard and nothing really special
thats why i had the idea of "ultimate warlord". anyone who is able to defend the title on maps the opponent picked for more than a few tims is truly one of the best ever. (so far EVERYONE failed to defend the title). veryone of the players that call themselves skilled should try it and show if he really is skilled or if he is just tossing.

Nonsense. In season 1 I asked Frank to play a game on my back-then favourite map: Islands and Caves. He looked at it for 20 minutes and played it much better that I would have been able to at that time. Very ingenious in his ideas, very accurate both on combat and adventure map.
It´s true that he used unfair methods, and I think he absolutely deserved the penalty that he received, but nevertheless he is/was one of the world´s top 5 H3 players, skill-wise.

It's truth - Frank (sometimes) used to become unsymatic, especially when he was affraid to lose. I remember he tried to hastitate and make me nervous with his comments in the game swith me.
But he was for sure a great player, maybe the best of all times. I looked at his homepage and read the tips he gave on the board or somewhere else. He based on mathematics, he added, divided etc and tried to be as precisious as possible in his calculations. Minimalizing the cost, I guess it was his motto. And on the other side he spent a lot of time thinking of new strategies nobody new before.
And if you look at his profile you'll see he played a lot types of maps, mostly randoms. Isn't it characteristic for true heroes addict?

[ Quote) you make me laugh - you really do
Motorschaaf ]
motor really makes me laugh
ya i know motor knows this game and now he reached to good heroes skill
but how can he be a chair man of hc?
he insulted players everyday in my memory(this is a game..isn't it?)
as my memory when he got his tactic he had recanter's cloak so many times and his nick was recanterschaaf
and at that time he learned that stronghold and mass haste with hack or gurnisson could be the best..
yea like some players lol he was too lucky one time LOL
as for motor toh is composed of 5 good players and 10 average players(including frank LOL)
and 1000+++ under average players
ok my memory about FRANK
he is cheap lol but..was great
he didn't like to learn from others he just wanted to win..when he thinks he can beat someone easily he didn't care the maps or other things..
but cause he didn't like to lose
he didn't want to play vs some players on the maps he can't be sure of the win..
if he didn't care the maps or opponets he could be much better ..but it was not his game style..
if andi ask frank to play on "showdown3" frank will say "no" let's play 7 lakes..
if antal ask frank to play on most maps..frank will say "no" ..hmm maybe "7lakes?"
frank came to zone to win..(of course most do but he really hates to lose and didn't wanna learn from others)
he wanted to kill someone easily with diplomancy or 8 heroes chaining so though u are a veteran if u play frank on some maps u will lose on very fast time (week 1 or 2?)
my games vs frank
1.Season2 ..on crimson&clover
i was newbie skill captain though i had 2 crazy cadets medals killing some veterans(zud and 2 more )
and then i could reach 1400...
and played vs frank on crimson and clover..
actually after this game my heroes skill became so different than before..he showed what is important on maps..
(motor says frank knows only a few maps? LOL no way! frank tried the most maps ever in toh)
at that game frank killed me easily
after the game i didn't wanna play the game for 3weeks LOL
u guys could call it a "cheap tactic" but i even could not think about frank's stragedy on the map..that's why he was great at that time..so frank is crimson and clover player? LOL no way
2.season2.. on fire war campaign
was a division map ..and with the bitter loss vs frank
i thought that if i would play vs him i could play better on the map..
yea i was right i learned one more thing from him..
he killed me easily(and didn't wanna play this game for a week LOL)
3.season3... on battle fest tourney
this is jb's sub tournament
boots+gunnar+angel wing killed him on 2nd week day 2 ..was an easy game..but i dont think i beat frank..
on fest
everyone can beat frank
4.season4...on battle for honor(4min turns)
one of his favorite map
and one of my favorite map..
we knew how to play the map..with enough heroes(8 or 9)
and i could beat him after killing most his armies on week 2 day1
5.season4... on battle for honor(1min turn)
was an easy game i could beat him easily (but it was not toh game..)
frank liked to try maps that he knows(he knows 100++ maps and he challenged most maps in toh history)
he is ths hisotry of toh
though he is a bit cheap ..
if motor met frank earlier than andi
frank could be the NO.1 in Toh history from his tongue
sadly he met anditossingboy
and how can motor be a chair man LOL
he wants fame than honor
he could judge rightly cuz he wanted fame than honor
motor shut uP Foo

I was never subjected to the "bad Frank" Every game we played he was perfectly honorable. He was a great player, not the best, but he was never cheap or dishonorable against me. Of course I've heard the stories, but Frankly (pun intended) he was a gentleman in every games with me. I guess we played about 8 randoms (probably 5-3 in his favour) and a few 7 lakes which he won. All fun games, no snowing of whining.
Well that is my perspective anyway.

I played him once
when I was new to ToH and names like Frank and Antal were at the top of the rankings list.
I can remember it well, lol. I had a cocky line from the movie Young Guns 2 in my room info: "Yoo-hoo!!! I'll make ya famous!" and Frank was intrigued by it.
We played Crimson and Clover and he tore me a new ass on it, lol. I didn't think it was possible for anyone to lose a game so quickly until that game.
What I remember most is very similar to what Rychenroller has already stated: he was a perfect gentleman. Hell, had had me look at the map before we started and coached me about points of interest on it and different possible strategies as well. I was kind of shocked that he would bother taking the time to do that.
Regardless, I was still staring dumbfounded at the mean old Executioner on my screen on week 2 day 1.
Was fun, though
