It happens to us all!!
Poor Fuzzy I know exactly how you feel.....had it happen to me on Merlins Challenge and I was sooooo angry...cant remember who I was playing but I was winning the game by miles when I got caught with just one red dragon on my main....he killed me in like 2 mins and that was the end of it...
But we went back in and played the final battle again with full army and I won of course but officially I lost....oh well thems the breaks.. And I think it will be a while before I get caught like that again....hehe

2 thing's in one campaine!
In the campaine "Armageddon's blade", The king ended up with expert AIR, and EARTH. Hey, that's fine, but when I'm stuck with no WISDOM!!!! That can get a little IRRITATING!!
Also, the last senario said "60 day's to complete"
Well, I found out the hard way (Tryin' to might up my heroe's) that it was not 60 day's. It was 2 MONTH'S.
I was right there too, about 2 turn's from the little heroe hiding behind the inferno.

How bout this
Ok...
Playing Midnight Wraith on XL random 160% I go to market day 2 week 2 to sell 2 ore for the 50 gold I need...
no big deal.. but I click MAX and sell all 44 of my ore. which btw is ALL the ore in my area. with no castle and no guild built..
hmmmmmmmm...
Can anyone guess the outcome of this one

When you walk up to a utopia and fight the guards off.. only to realize that you have run out of movement!! then on the next day your opponent (JINXER) slides in ahead of you to clain the maxed utopia contianing heaven helm, Sword of Judgment, and lions sheild..

Can anyone guess the outcome of this one

Sacrifice - not always nice
In a recent battle against a wandering monster stack, I lost 1 or 2 TBirds... I had sacrifice spell and a stack of 3 imps (it was 5 imps when I entered the battle). A good opportunity to cast sacrifice I guess.. so I sacrificed the imps for the TBirds. Unfortunately the click sequence of that spell is a little contra-intuitive, which means I sacrificed 11 TBirds to ressurect 2 imps!!
Imagine my face when this happened.. LOL

thought of another one
heh mY stupidity... or over excitement about my next maneuver.. either way dumb dumb dumb
Recently on BFP vs Tunamic I had hit his armies with a mass slow.. and of course the green drags are not affected.
So thinking (hehehehe) lets clone those skels and give him a little bite.
so ghost drags turn rolls around.. and out comes the clone
and low and behold his greens attack next!
well they hit that 853 stack of cloned skels and took a good 200 of my normal guys with em with no retailiation ..
A mistake I will not make again

a dishonorable opponent
ok, how about this one:
your opponent proposes all these rules:
- no hit & run
- no joiners at all
- no level 4 heroes
- no first day rush
With the no hit/run, he specified all kinds of things on what one can and can't do.
well, what choice do i have but to agree upon these. They seem fair.
So, it's a clan game, and he as naturalist picks Kyrre as starting hero as I go random (metallurgy).
In the first week, without diplomacy, FIVE groups of creatures offer to join! But no, I must refuse
Then, after a week into the game, I discover something a little interesting: hmmm, my opponent's choice of a hero was illegal. (illegal because he was supposed to pick random) Hmmmmmmmm.
So I confronted him about it, and of course he had 3 excuses:
- One of his excuse was, "well you said ok before I launched," <-- (note: I typed ok because he asked me if I was ready).
- Another was, "well one time I played against a necro clan and he started with Isra"
- Another: Well ... I didn't know.
I eventually agreed to continue the game, seeing to cut him a little slack. Giving him the benefit of the doubt.
Well, next thing I know, in battle he uses the exact hit & run manouver that he proposed against! Right then I asked myself: Did he forget? or what kind of guy is this??
So I brought it up to him, mentioning and recalling the rules that we had set ... the ones HE proposed. Well ... he denied it, and stated that he never made "such a rule".
So ... I have a question:
if you were placed in this situation with a dishonorable player, would you finish the game notwithstanding his illegal choice of a hero? <-- such is the only toh rule broken.
or would you withdraw?

I play this game for fun. It seems to me that you dont have much fun playing this guy, do you? So I wouldn botther with him any more.

I have one good way to fix your problem with confusing rules.
Play with no rules, they are not enforcable anyhow.
I, myself played with some of those Lame rules just a few times. The result of each game was confusion as to the exact meaning of no hit n run, or even no diplo.
I lost them all of course and now play my random maps with a few small yet easily definable rules, You cant view the cartographer and if any 2 heroes meet and fight week 1 we restart. simple rules to make a better game.
Slightly off topic, but if CLANS/DIVISIONS are supposed to be the core tourneys of TOH why do the players in them insist on playing unenforcable rules that TOH itself does not support.
They should all be played with no rules, that should be a requirement.
I was very interested in DIvisions when i joined up in Season 3, only to have Division wars setup with rules like no first day rush, no diplo and no log heroes. WTF! I quit that soon after.
Now i was seriously considering joining that had asked me in. Well after seeing all the rooms in the zone say "CLAN/TOH game see info" and look in the info and see the usual compliment of lame game restricting rules. I guess these `CORE' tourneys just are'nt meant for players to use there skill, instead being forced down the same path each time with a limit on what you can do. I really do not understand that logic.

Mike your stance is rare and I applaud it.
As you and I both love to play randoms with no rules except the KoR ones and we both love speed metal AND we are both named Mike I propose we play each other next time we get the chance.
As for your topic I say "There is nothing more annoying in a game then when your ISP logs you off."
For some reason I get SO stressed out when this happens.

aaah speed metal, I used to listen to that back in the day (yet it was officially known as punk).
I agree ironmlh, the less rules the better. Perhaps i should have rejected his "proposed" rules that he would have broken, and therefore he wouldn't play me in the first place. <--- save me all this trouble.
The type of game restriction that REALLY annoys me are these:
- dw or hg only
and if you mention ANY other map, they'll say ... lets play dw (their English is lacking) ...
or when I porpose that we play a map neither of us know, they say "i don't know that map, lets play dw"
and when i view their toh profile, it shows that they've played 80% of their games on dw, and the other 20% on hg.
It is evident that these players are scared.
About last season's divisions, I can understand the "no first day rush" rule, becasue that's just cheating the system (where one color has this advantage and the other does not) ... but those other rules just don't make sense.

i totally agree with ur comments to special maps - i think dw, hg and some others are really a plague... (and players, who o n l y want them, too)
but
there's another thing that's really annoying....:
people who say : ' thats cheating...' without making rules..
imo cheating in this case is to break rules which both sides 'd installed before the game starts.... first day rush
isnt cheating from the order...
'system cheating' - sorry, but that's a joke...
think of middle castle on bfh, hill fort on me vs u, etc. - who is the one, who 'll wait every 1. day a week because its an advantage to do it first...?
and why is a dump rabbit only starring at the snake instead of killing members of a 5 or 6 heroes chain a honorable player ?

Yup thats cheating but the worst thing is u can't prove that u were cheated like u can when someone edited a map or something like that and toh doesnt support made rules so the only thing is u can put such rule breaking buttheads on ignore list and tell all ur friends what a CENSORED ur opponent was.
Happened to me yesterday. Played with following rules:
No cartho , No lvl 3 or 4th hero and no hit and run.
He attacked with 7 silver pegasi 1300 meteor and surrender.
And after that he told me we didn't agree on hit and run rule.
I feel sorry for that guy , very sorry. its just poor to behave dishonorable just to keep a record good.
that is really really annoying. wasting 6 hours with a ******** .

Hmm I hate to say this but it really is upsetting to see all these people being rewarded for being dishonorable. I realize the Honorcouncil has openly said they wont support player made rules. So only 2 options. Dont play with rules, or only play people you trust and know when making rules.
But here is a thought. These dishonorable people who claim to forget that they made the rule after they have broken it, why cant you forget that you really played them. Let them report then when they claim you didnt report say. ' Did I play you? I dont know you. " Fight fire with Fire. lol.
Doing this is not very honrable either but it is even more dishonrable to reward these dispicable players who are taking advatage of the system to exploit honorable trusting players.

Its better to play no rulez..
But if u want rulez, dont make a lot of thems, coz then why u play HOMM?? To limit urself on 2 heroes 1 castel and spels lvl 1 and 3?? Hmm, its a bit stupid.
But even if u make rules, make them very clear. NO WIERD RULEZ like no lvl 4 hero.... Whta does lvl 4 hero means??  Many newbys imho dont know it.
And can I make lvl 4 hero as not main 1? And If i dont have main hero? etc......
p.s. this sort of topic is v old, at least i rember some of thems from old times
And nobody erm...... dunno how to explain it, sorry guys.

was in a game other day and i got like TP,Res, and implode in my guild. while running around for 3 weeks on hg trying to get earth magic my op., guess he couldn't wait for me any more , broke through and smoked me while i was running with just 7 greens. I always find it so annoying when ya appear to have the tools to win the game but ya don't get to open the tool box

ok ... here's some ANNOYING stuff, and it's happened to me:
- when Thorgrims resistance goes 0 for 26
- when master genies cast frenzy on naga queens
- getting meteorshaafted
- when your opponent will ONLY choose red on a small map (you KNOW what he's up to)
- playing dw
- playing hg
- gold dragons ... they can be imploded, but not resurrected
- when you KNOW you're going to win, but your opponent gets Angelic Alliance <--- happened twice
- when opponent sneaks into your territory and grabs your relics: orb of inhibition; shackles of war; ... and chooses not to use them because of hit & run tactics
- when your opponent has Kyrre sneaking around taking your castles one by one (with dimention door, and town portal), killing all your scouts ... and when you DO catch him he surrenders with his gold dragons.

You should be glad people are even talking on it at all and stop trying to censor them.
Last time I checked there was nobody even posting to the message board, save for kids who don't even play in ToH so I was enjoying the lil discussion.
