Something Odd about WOG Stacks
I was playing a wogified map today, when I came across a stack of Arch Angels that wanted to join up. This isn't too bad, except there were over 4k archangels in the stack!
Then, to really botch it up, the stack didn't dissapear the first time I took them aboard, so it was like getting a cloned stack that stayed with me. Then I came at it from another angle to see if I could get them off the screen, and I ended up with over 12k archangels in my army.
So much for that game.
Is there a glitch in the scripts that puts out stacks of 4k creatures but the game doesn't recognize them?

Huh?

Well, I've seen a different thing. When you attack wandering master gremlins, the middle stack turns into halflings. And when you fight wandering halflings, the middle stack turns into master gremlins. Is this some sort of tribute to HoMM2, where the halfling was the wizard's lvl1?

It's a bug in the game, not the script, although the wandering monsters do of course come from either the Week of Monsters or Freelancer's Guild scripts. The Wandering Monster functions that those scripts use was made by Slava and that actually works fine, but the game sometimes doesn't delete stuff. Slava (after much hunting) thought he had found the place is was screwing up and added some extra deletions but apparently it still messes up sometimes. I believe he also added a function where you can right-click on a stack over 4K and it gives the option to delete it.
It doesn't seem to happen too often, but if it's bugging you a lot, the only other way round it right now is to play with the stationary Monsters option for the "Week of Monsters" (or no spawned monsters at all) and also not use the Freelancer's Guild script.

This isn't a bug. It's a feature. :-)
Seriously, it's part of the Rebalanced Factions script where Master Gremlins can upgrade to Halflings. The mixture of non-upgraded with upgraded creatures in random monster stacks is determined by the upgrades that are set, so if any creature is set to upgrade to another one, e.g., if you use an ERM command to set Iron Golems ot upgrade to Antichrists (for some strange reason), then any stack of Iron Golems might include some Antichrists in it too. At least, I think that's how it works.

I'm not sure. You'd have to ask Steven Lynch (the writer of that script). But I suppose it's possible.
