Honor
Hi all,
I found that the new season deleted all the statistics of the players. In the case of honor I disagree with that.
The only thing I am proud of from the last season is that I reached high honor with playing relatively few games.
Honor is the thing which I first check when deciding whether to play someone or not. I see that Splexx reached average honor.. thats a laugh if I did not know him I would not play him because of that.
So, because honor is your history more than anything else,
I suggest to leave the 'high' and 'highest' ranks intact,
possibly deleting the wrong ranks (giving them a second chance).
Best,
Strawdozz

actually I agree.
btw I've seen former MVPs (LichKing, Destro) start out with Highest Honor at the beginning of the season, so I think it's technically possible to carry over honor. Lotsa work for the poor admins though.
guess the honorable players will have to continue their good work hehe
no doubt about splexx, he will be highest honor soon enough

givin' splexx back his good name
Just in case somebody think bad about Splexx... I guess, i was the last one who played him, so it looks that he get this "avarage honor" from me...
If it was so, only reason why it could happen was that we finished our 10+ hour game in 9:00 in the morning and i was so tired that i hardly remember reporting at all, not to speak about pressing right key in hounor row...
so if, that was the case, i'm saying as loud and publicly as i can to splexx, and can assure everyone that he is one the best dudes around!
As for remaining honor ranking - its good idea, only now we should wait one more year to implement it, i guess

Yes, that's one of the perks that go with the MVP award, bud. Ves made it that way when he started the Honor System with the new automation.

All taken care of Zilonite
As for the idea of carrying over Honor ranking, I'm not sure how that would be done. Theoretically we would have to go through every player account and write down their ending honor and then after the reset go back through all of the accounts and reset it to the appropriate rank. I'm sorry but I do not have that kind of time. It would be different if a players honor ranking was shown on the Ranks page. Then the screen shots that we take to get the end of season rank and all medals awarded would also show the Honor Ranking, but that currently is not the case. Any change of that nature would probably take $$ from Ves to get done.

It is supposed to have the honor reset at 50%, as the idea behind it is you need to show your activity prove your honor for that season again. The only ones that keep their high honor legacy are those exceptional players (MVP winners). As lich put it, its one of the perks of being an MVP, and well deserved too.

You need a temporary table where u copy the name and the honour before the reset. Afterwards youu copy the honour ratings back. That is the simplest script.
That will be 5 bucks

Here ya go, Cas
How the Honor Rating System Works [9/10]
The Honor Rating is calculated as a percentage, each player starting at 50% when they register. The value then is shown on the player info & statistics as a description based on the percentage:
90-100% - Highest Honor
70-89% - High Honor
50-69% - Honorable
40-49% - Average
20-39% - Poor
0-19% - Disgraceful
Players who hit 0% can be removed from TOH. In general, the % changes based on your opponents opinion of your game during the winloss submission; +3% for honorable, -3% for dishonorable, and no change in the default neutral.
Unreported losses - When a player does not report their loss and does not dispute it when it is found on the unreported winloss page, they lose 5% honor after 5 days of it being on the unreported page, and the entry is deleted automatically.
And in case the copy/paste looks crappy here, check out the old TOH news page and you'll find it there.

Head out of the clouds boy...I most often give high honor when losing, all depending on the players attitude and gamesmanship. Conversely I have given poor honor when I have beaten someone (not this season though)
The honor rating is subjective as it should be, not objective. I think most players actually use it correctly, and dont go on wins/losses.

Me you give me a fun good game I will always give you high hounor.
If I didnt enjoy the game but there was no problems I wont give nothing.
If you give me a problem then heck yea your getting the minus lOL.
Most my games are fun & I think 90% of my games I give good hounor points most of the time.

Oh yes i was wrong not everybody but most of the guys out there ( that explains why ppl with lots of losses reach high honout faster). No need to insult me though

I didnt insult you, I said get your head out of the clouds...thats pretty tame lol.
I disagree with your thinking though. There are players out there who win heaps and heaps of games who will always be high honor. Maybe people report high honor to those players who lose all the time, because they feel that those players deserve a break, investing all that time, just to lose all the time.

Its simple in my mind
Fun game no disputes no annoyances like "bending of rules" or such = high honor
Typical dull game no disputes or annoyances and better or worse left with no anger = high honor
Game with disputing of rules or the annoying... "IM SO STRONG FEAR ME" every fricken 5 seconds... = low honor
Game with Killa Bee = low honor (10 bucks says he will be very offended with this )

Some people have a hard time accepting allowing others to hold power over their honor statistic. Usually its because of lack of trust, or a general belief that other people are stupid or evil.
But the thing is, giving other people the power over the honor rating of such people, is the only way to make them be nice to them (even if they still think that they are evil or stupid).
Some computer programmers are like that. They want control because they fear the world. And they cant let go of control, because of distrust. Thats why they can be jerks. But anyone can change, and most people are nice.
The brilliant thing about the honor rating is that its a right both players have. Regardless of everything else, they get to chose. Its freedom, and its scary. You cant control what the other guy is going to do. All you can do is play with honor, and hope for the best. And thats what I think makes an honorable player.
