Hello fellow heroes!
This site has been helpful for years, so here I am now joining the community.
Heroes (III) are my all-time favorite game, and actually the only game I still play. And I'm sure I won't stop playing it any time soon.

I haven't been posting lately because I was upset that the latest version of HOMM, which I was anticipating for years, won't run on my computer. That was a big disappointment.

I am new to this forum but love homm-
I would very much like to know how to multiplay online without using the homm online site-I cannot stand it because there is no sound

What HoM&M are you playing?
I suggest asking at the proper subforum (HoM&M 1-3, HoM&M 4, HoM&M 5 or HoM&M 6)

For multiplayer, either Heroes 3 or Heroes V.
Duels on Heroes V are damn fun, specially with Elvin Duel map

Speaking of Heroes V duels, is there an active thread or something where I could find people to do so?
(I'd have to figure out online stuff first, but I've watched some duels and they seem really interesting.)

Well, here's their old thread, but I doubt You'll find opponents these days. On the other hand, MMH6 duels are slowly but steadily growing more popular, and there were several tourneys held already in this thread.

I've got a copy of H3 complete and it works fine, there's an odd crash here and there, but if you run it in compatibility mode I don't see why there should be any problems.

i run heroes 3 off of my desktop on win 8, so you should have no prob. just make sure to install it somewhere other than your C: drive.

If you have problems with H3, try putting compatibility to winXP or similar, it may help

Thanks all-I was trying to run the heroes 3 demo maybe buying it would be better, it isn't expensive. I tried 5 and definitely like 3 better-maybe it's nostalgia
do you buy off of gog? I read somewhere they tweak their games to get them to run better but not sure if that is a good idea.

Hello HC!
I'm Ana and I've been an H3 player like forever and for the past 2 years (ever since I started playing H5, or so) I've lurking on this forum but now I finally got registered and decided it is time to give back
So, yesterday I started to work on a poster and when I'll be finished with it I will gladly share it. (it's hard work for what I have in mind but I hope it will be finished soon, hopefully a week, two max.)
That would be my first gift to you, dear forum.
