That's the problem I see with how the QPs work, that they're awarded only for a "high quality" post. In my opinion (please read the underline part again  ) there are some people who deserve a QP for their overall postings, like Darkshadow and mamgaeater. They gained absolutely no QPs, and the community wouldn't have been the same without them, and I mean it in a positive way here.
Again, those were just my 2 cents.

Agree with Asheera.
In fact I think there are many other HC-ers, while not exactly posting very often, never fails to ensure that at least their posts are not low quality and have some point or substance (unless the posts are in VW, maybe)...Edwin_Yang and Isabel come to mind.
How the QPs are given can, subtly, send hidden messages to newcomers on how HC is like. By rewarding QPs appropriately (for special quality posts, commendable general performance etc), the message HC sends out to newcomers is that, even though they may not be able to post in HC every other day, by making positive contributions, QPs are not unreachable for them.
Attracting power is good, but staying power is even better. Having more newcomers joining us and later becoming regulars or semi-regulars is just fun...and beneficial as a whole.

Completely in favour of the overall QPs for Mamga and DS (let's try to smuggle Dagoth into list aswell and see if they notice!)
And if DS doesn't want his give it to Mamga!

No, I have given some qp for overall contribution. Make no mistake, being an active member with positive attitude should be rewarded as well. Samiekl or Edwin Yang for instance have rarely if ever posted an indepth strategy post but their continued efforts and valuable advice helped people a lot.

Hmm, I guess you're right but I was mainly disagreeing with how Azagal said Mamga and Darkshadow should get QP's for overall contribution.

The way I see it it would be easier for them to get any with a good post that might not otherwise have gotten one. They don't come out of thin air

What's the QP system for, in your opinion? Only to give it for monstrous posts who are considered quality? What if someone makes two posts who are half-QP worthy? Why is that person not given a "bonus"?
In my opinion, a member's QPs are there to show the quality of the member, this includes his overall contribution and not just some particular posts. Mamga is a good example of this. He made many posts, some of them which should be considered half QP-worthy, yet he gets no QPs.
Meh, just my opinion on this matter, probably doesn't matter much.

Those poor 5 yellow stars with flood protect, I feel for them I want them to get QPs more than I want one, and yea, they should get QPs for a compilation of Q Posts in my opinion.
QP's went from being kind of hard to get, to ancient legend, and I think this is wrong lol.

Not monstrous posts, but posts that are actually considered to be QP worthy. If you think Mamga or anyone else that doesn't have any QP's yet and deserves a QP then just link to the posts that you think you should be rewarded with a QP. I'm sure that posts would be considered.

For example, this is a pretty interesting thread, which although I wouldn't consider QP worthy in itself it is half-QP worthy or something like that. There's also this which was also a very interesting idea but it died because of the participants who weren't serious
He also participated and provided some interesting riddles in this thread. As I said, none of those are really extreme quality for the standard of a QP nowadays but he did write a lot of interesting posts. I have seen some members get QPs for overall contribution or help, why shouldn't mamga get any?

I've been a mod before. If they see an active member that is always giving positive feedback and inputs to the community, usually they try to find a QP for him/her. If you feel someone has been posting quality overall in a particular forum, or even just all over HC, then point it out to the mods. They will listen and keep an eye out for it.
Personally, I don't think those posts are all that amazing. The HC Werewolf Idea didn't work out, but I bet he didn't push people to keep it going. Until this past round, I've had to bug and prod people to submit entries on time every single contest. Same with Story Circle.
If the Werewolf Idea was given more effort, he could have made it work.

I like this idea, of over all QP's, specifically designed for 2 red star members with a lot of input into HC.

Dude, so if this QP system was measurable, and someone made 98 points (you need 100 for a QP, for example) in a post, 99 in another, and 95 in another... you think that person does not deserve a QP or maybe even two?
