That bug sucks
(it could have helped to choose a username like Zamfir2 to prevent confusion though - why did you choose Svejk anyway? )

LOL, when I first so Svejk I immediately thought about The Good Soldier Svejk (or in my language Dobri vojnik Švejk). He's funny, but I doubt that anyone else heard of him because we are having this crisis in reading.

Hello, my name is MorgothBauglir.
I first learned about the HoMM series in 2004 when a friend lent me a CD with some demos. I dowloaded the HoMM 3 demo and fell in love with it (even though you only get to play Dead and Burried). For many years I searched in vain for the full version, but I guess it isnt much popular in the country I live in. Last year my search was finally over as I found the complete edition in a used CDs store and started playing again.
Other games I play:
Runescape (to all the haters I've noticed here: noooooooooobs, I bet you couldnt get out of the tutorial island! )
Age of Empires I and II
Recoil
Warlords Battlecry III
Minesweeper
NetHack (havent ascended yet :-/)
Medal of Honor
Books I like:
The Hobbit, LotR I II and III, the Silmarillion
Shadow over Innsmouth
Eragon
Movies:
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (its not quite dead yet sir)

I am playing HOMM, doing the campaigns, offline, academy campaign. is there a site that can answer questions about the game. I am talking final battle, first disk, wall of flame then on to the major fight, one of the heroes is not cutting it and am wondering if I can redo him somehow and add different characteristics.

Help me please!
Hi, I´ve been playing Heroes V for some months now. I came to this forum for help in some matters.
In the 4th mission of "Hammers of Fate", I have to gather a number of troops to cross the dwarven gates (100peasant, 30 imperial griffin, 80 marksman etc.) How do I manage the number of units to get that exact count?

Sorry Leonardo, I'm a newbie her as well, so I don't know, but wouldn't those numbers simply be minimum numbers I wonder.
Anyway, I'm new here as well, so I better introduce myself. I just rediscovered Heroes III after having played almost only Civilization III for a few years.
Heroes I and II were sort of the first 'real' games I played on the computer. I don't think I've played Heroes III much, but all my downloaded games had long been wiped anyway. It's only just that I bought the 'Complete' CD, and I'm now trying to get to grips with the game again. Those battle tactics are quite complex, actually! The Heroes games probably have the image of being uncomplicated fun, but with all those variables of spells, speed, obstacles, retaliate or not and so on and so on, those battles are hard to play tactically well.
So that was one surprise. Another surprise is that the game is more alive than I thought it would be. With that I mean that I have found a lot more forum activity around this game than I had expected, and even an expansion is still being made (Horn of the Abyss).
So it's been a nice rediscovery for me sofar. May I end with newbie question?
If a hero has as a unit as his or her speciality, then the unit mentioned is always an unupgraded unit, like for example it's a monk, and not a zealot. But does the advantage then really end with the monk, or does it also extend to the upgraded version?
And yeah, I like Kid Creole and the Coconuts.

@Leonardo: You must dismiss the extra creatures (i.e. you have 134 peasants, kill the additional 34). Please note there is a special dismiss button in the creature screen.
The best way would be to split a stack in two stacks (to do so, click on the stack, hit shift and drag to an empty stack). Now, from a stack of creatures you can make more, the total number remaining the same ofc.
In our case, a stack will contain the needed number, and the second stack the extra creatures. Dissmis the second stack and here you go.
@Coconut: Actually, the bonus is for both upgraded and unapgraded unit. For example, Valeska improves Archers AND Marksmen.
If you right-click on the speciality icon, this fact is specified. Moreover, the manual states the same thing.
And welcome on HC.
