GS online H4 affected by surfing?
k, here 's a little quest:
When one is playing ToH online via gamespy, will the time it takes before you get your turn be affected if you surf the Interent?
While you are waiting for your turn off course
Well -obviously- I thought it would matter a lot.
Coz I know a litle how Internet, IP adress(-ing) and computers work..
But someone I played with said, it didn 't matter..
His ping went even better he said!
Beats me
??
Can anyone tell me?

well if opponent has already received data transfer and is doing his turn, then of course it wont matter if you are surfing then. but if surfing when it is transferring, then it will be slower.

Ok, thanx for your reply Blue_Camel!
I posted this one mainly for 2 reasons;
1. Having to wait minutes for turns to come -maybe- kills ToH?
That 's to say, turn based gameplay more prhaps..
In this 'fast evolving, ''faster!, faster!, 'rat race like, ''dont care bout others style world we live in now..
Allthough, I don 't care much myself. Its even relaxing sometimes', if not 2 loonggg
2. I was curious if anyone could actually tell me, from experience.. 2 c if I was right or not
Coz in my experience it does matter a lot if you switch.. It gets slower & sllooowwweerrr when one switches.
(btw: I got cable: 1024/128)
Another thingie:
The 1st time I played online I didnt know it took more dan a minute to get your turn sometimes..
So I actually asked the other fellow if he was playing auto mode..
( we had to build up so, put hero in town wait a lot of turns, untill enough money saved )
Maybe i offended the guy, dunno(?)
Sorry 2 him, from here & this way
Well I kinda figured;
yur Internet connection is something like a freeway; the wider the road, the more cars could be traveling,
but:
When the road is filled with cars, they will be traveling slower..
And;
The game must constantly update position, strenght etc. so there will be a constant up & download to each player.
Not to mention the 'keep alive' packets.
All relativly small, but they must travell over the same 'freeway.
So;
When one is using that 'freeway', for surfing, downloading & stuff, the connection is filling, the packets from the game must stand in line..
Hence;
Slower gameplay..
Maybe on a very fast connection, it wont matter, but most of us got no more than standard cable or adsl
I 've got 1024 down & 128 up
Should be fast enough, I dont surf wilst playing
Just using patience till my turn comes up
Maybe some1 got a technical explanation?
No offence meant, just curious me
