Vadskye sighed.  This was boring.  No one came here anyway.  Vadskye got up and decided to wander the countryside.  Maybe he could find Dingo.  Vadskye was confident that Dingo would not use one of the existing fortresses, so maybe he could attack the fort before it was finished.  Once on the road, Vadskye decided to work on his thieving skills.  You never know when those could come in handy.

Idea strikes

Gorman: Camilla, your are also an expert at illusionary magic are you not?
Camilla: Now I wouldn't say that! *she responds blushing. It appears obvious that I flatter her*
Gorman: I don't intend on being rude, but could you possibly make mirror images of me? That would be like...my own servents that will obey my command by thought?
Camilla: Now that is asking for quite an accomplishment sir! *I pretend to look disappointed, and I notice her smile and wink at me* However, I'm pretty sure I would be able to make at least four for you if you'd like.
Gorman: Would you really be so kind? Is there anyway I could possibly repay you?
Camilla: No thanks is necessary. Just knowing a REAL Archangel is plenty! *she says this last remark w/a beam to her smile*

*She starts speaking the words of magic, I feel the power flowing through her like her own blood does as I watch her. Her voice carries much power in the word of magic. All of a sudden, there is a tremendous flash of light, for a moment, everything is fuzzy but the world quickly returns to normal. I look about and notice 4 exact replica's of me doing the same thing, only slightly different. I turn back to Camilla and give her a large smile and a big hug*

Gorman: I am in your debt my lady. Are you certain that they will listen to only me?
Camilla: *drained from the use of so much magic, her voice now sounds extrememly tired and she appears to be ready to fall over in exhaustion* Yes, you and you alone can command them. Your thoughts and their's are connected. However, they can not attack an enemy or defend themselves if attacked. They are mirror images, nothing less. You can see through their eyes and hear through their ears, talk through their mouth's as though they were you. More of a scout to say the least...
Gorman: It is all I could ever possibly ask for my lady. I shall take you back to your home, and my....brethren, shall accompany us.
Camilla: *drowsily* That sounds nice....

*she drifts off into a sleep and nearly falls over before I'm able to catch her. I look back at my fellow Archangel images and we take off and head back towards the mountain that the gnomes live under. I command the Angel's to stay far aloft and to keep watch for any suspicious strangers. I take Camilla's body back to the gnome's and have them get her a nice place to sleep. As they bustle to get things ready for her, I silently sneak back out the door and re-join my fellow angels*

Gorman: Now...what to do... I should resume looking for that blasted gnome Silver, however, I think I shall to the Crook to find out what must be done... He know's what must be done... And soon, we shall know as well. Come my brethren, we are going back to an old home of mine....

*With that my mirror images and I head back towards where I had first stored my stolen loot from the Order fort. We keep watch to make sure nobody is following us and come to land in the groove. I look back at the four mockery's of myself and sigh*

Gorman: Its too bad that you four aren't real...we would be having alot of chaotic fun!

*just recieving the blank and emotionless expressions that the four wore seemingly all the time, I turn back and get ready to re-meet my diety to obtain some critical information...*

Dingo enjoys RSF’s idea on the forest.  It would require much less work and defending it would be easier.  Dingo still wanted a Fortress though.  If they got some workers, they could still build a smaller Fortress in the forest.

Dingo:  We still would need to build a Fortress in the forest.

RSF:  Yes, of course.  I could build it.

Dingo:  I know you can build it but I want it to be nice.  If we get some help then it would be better.

Dingo and RSF finally arrive at the village.

Dingo:  Here we will get some information, some workers and some drinks.

RSF:  These people are stubborn.  They respect the king and listen to his every order.

Dingo:  Perfect.

As they walk into town they see a woman feeding some chickens in the streets.

Dingo:  Hello, we would like to speak to the King.  Could you tell us where he lives?

The woman gives a sharp look.

Woman:  What is your business with the King?

RSF:  We have come with gifts.

Woman:  If you are expected, you should know where he is.

RSF:  Our directions were ruined in the rain.

Dingo:  These presents are urgent and the King’s business only.

Woman:  Well… If you urgently need to see the King, his palace is at the bottom of the mountain.

Dingo and RSF:  Thank you.

They arrive at the palace.  It is heavily guarded.

Dingo:  I’ll teleport to the roof, and work my way down.  I’ll open the gates, and then you run full speed into the palace.  I’ll then teleport behind some bushes, then I’ll meet up with you in that room.

He points at a window.

RSF:  Alright, I’ll run around the palace and learn where everything is.

Dingo teleports to the roof, then teleports to the gate.  He slowly opens the gate, as to not make a sound.  He opens it barely enough.  He then teleports to a balcony.  He walks into the room and opens the door.  Outside the room is a magnificent room, with hallways, doors and lots of stairs.  He then notices the door.  He jumps down to the door and unlocks it.  He opens it, then hears someone coming.  He teleports back up to the hallway, and walks into the room.  He waits for RSF.  RSF then arrives.

RSF:  The King is eating.  I found the throne room; he will be going there soon.

As they arrive at the throne room, inside of it is a guard.  RSF quickly knocks the guard out.  RSF puts on the guards uniform.  Dingo hides in the curtains.  A few minutes later the King walks in.  He sits there reading his report of the town.  RSF quickly closes the doors to the throne room.  The King looks up and sees the doors closed with RSF walking towards him.

King:  What do you think your doing!?

Before the King and say another word he is slapped.

Dingo:  Yes, his kingdom will be ours!

RSF:  No, you are becoming greedy with your power.  If we take this kingdom, something will happen.  Wait, we will soon have power.  Trust me.

Dingo:  Hmmmm, fine.  We should get some workers.

RSF:  Not now, we should first explore the forest before we build anything.

Dingo, RSF and the hypnotized King walk around the palace.

King:  These are some royal friends of mine.  Please treat them with respect, they may come by whenever they want.  They may come though the gates whenever they wish.

The Kings hypnosis was going to wear off soon.

King:  I am feeling ill, I will now be going to go to bed.  Please escort my friends out and do not disturb me.

The king goes to his chambers, while RSF and Dingo leave.  As they leave RSF talks with the guards.

RSF:  …Hey thanks a lot.   By the way, I’ve heard of a cursed forest.  Are the stories true?

The guard talks about the forest.

RSF:  How do you exactly get there?

Guard:  See that green grass going up the mountain?

RSF:  Yeah.

Guard:  When if you follow that grass it will eventually go into the clouds.  Then it will turn wet and much like a swamp.  Then the forest should appear.  But I do not recommend going there.  You should stay away from the forest, it’s cursed.

RSF:  Thank you.

In a god's realm...

*as i left the natural world that men and women commonly know of. The dimension was like a dark corridor, a light shown from the end. An almost ghostlike haze hung on the air, as I walked towards the light I could hear my god, The Crook, whistling a merry tune. I reach the door and knock on the outside, the whistling stops and a loud voice yells from inside*

Crook: You know you don't have to knock! Come in and sit down! I have work for you to do!

*It seems ages since I've last been here, the room is almost bare except for a small round table and two chairs. The room seems to fit the god's mood to what ever is needed. I walk over to the empty chair and sit down*

Crook: I am pleased with your efforts! Your encounter with Silver proved to be....interesting. What were you thinking threatening him like that?
Gorman: I was in a hurry to get back, in case something were to happen to my....ally....
Crook: Interesting choice of words! I will tell you something very important however, there is a new god, he must be stopped no matter what the cost! I will not allow any new "gods" to disrupt this peaceful place known as my home!
Gorman: *nods* I will obey....
Crook: Before you go, I must tell you, if you ever see that gnome again, do not attack him. Or there will be consequences....
Gorman: Yes my lord...
Crook: Now go! There is work to be done!

*all of a sudden, my journey to my god seems like a video in rewind, I'm thrown backwards and out the door that I came in. All of a sudden, a flash of light brings me to my senses in the real world. Rain, as wet and horrible as can be. I look for my Illusions, but there is none to be seen. They must have disapparated by the rain when it started falling. All alone again, the only thing I coud do was plan...*

Deimos: Silver, come on.
Silver went with him.
Silver: What are they doing?!
Deimos: No idea! This is a truce, after all! And now we break up into the Dark Party of Spam, the Shadow Party of Spam, and us, the remainder of the Chaos Party of Spam.
Silver: Why?!
Deimos: Those fools RSF and Shadowcaster. RSF has power-hungry Dingo to do his bidding, and Shadowcaster has Gorman. They are both controlling this... catastrophe, and we need to stop this.
Suddenly, they ran right into Vadskye.
Deimos: Camilla... kidnapped! What will we do now?
Vadskye: You know I have many friends, being a popular theif.
Deimos: What's that got to do with anything? Vadskye: Well, one of my accomplices, me having told him to watch anything suspicious, told me of 2 strangers appearing in a village nearby. Said they were friends of the local king. King fell ill shortly afterward.
Deimos: A very amusing joke, courtesy Dingo.
Silver: Dingo?
Vadskye explained.
Deimos: By standing around here, we are getting nowhere. Where is this village?
Vadksye: Follow me!

A Trip Through The Forest

After escaping the threatening eagleman Silver decided to make his way to some safety in a forest on the way to the Chaos fort. There he decided to dig a hole at the base of a tree and use the roots as support beams in his hole. He had dug out a small burrow and covered the entrance so as not to be disturbed so he could think clearly for what to do next.

He knew he needed to retrieve his locator stone from Lord_Woock. "But how to do it", he thought to himself. "I suppose I shall take a quick nap and sort it out when I wake. All this fuss was a bit straining for me. Yes, a nap sounds nice." With that he made sure the entrance was well concealed and blanketed himself with some fallen leaves inside his cozy little hovel.

The strengthened shadow mage walked out of the Order fort and out into the rain, now with no cover to shade him. He decided to let the fort's inhabitants deal with the shadow later, and he began to wonder if they even had any windows to let in the sunlight. If not, the shadow would remain for several weeks, even without his supervision.

Scanning the area, Shadowcaster found no trace of his archangel friend and shouted fruitlessly into the downpour. No, Gorm was gone, and with him, his quickest mode of transportation had suddenly vanished. It didn't really matter, though, Shadowcaster had been healed and could now move on his own, thankfully. He just hoped Gorm had a good explanation for leaving him to die, wounded and alone, in the fort of his enemies of long ago. At least he was now alone. Solitude and health, those were what he had craved in his long days of confinement, but now that he had them, he felt nothing. Only emptiness existed within him. Something was missing.

Shadowcaster began rationalizing. He still needed to fulfill his plan, only then would his emptiness cease to be, but he knew deep down that this wasn't the case. The shadow mage needed a heart to dispel the emptiness inside of him, and he had lost his when he cut his ties to everything. He had craved power over the love of a friend, even over the love that Sheila felt for him, and because of that, Shadowcaster was more alone than he knew.

The shadow mage tried to convince himself that he didn't care, that he liked this new life, but the emptiness was still very real, and no matter how hard he would try to cover it up, it would always eat away at him, slowly dissolving who he had become in the past. Shadowcaster tried to take his mind off of the painful subject, onto something more pleasant, like his future alliance with the illusionist, but not even his visions of the future would help him now.

Shadowcaster glanced over at the forest that he would soon be running through. He noticed that the water falling onto the leaves was weighing them down and the wind was tossing the tree left and right, and, despite the tree's stature, they were all subject to the burden. This was much like his friendships, they only served to weigh him down, to buckle the shadow mage and to take him futher from himself, down and away from what he truly desired. He desired power, that was all Shadowcaster knew, and nothing was going to get in the way of that. He would find Silver, he had to.

Shadowcaster sprinted into the forest, not knowing nor caring where he was headed. He pushed himself harder than he had ever done before, and had soon tired out from the effort. Again, he had to rest, but he didn't, he couldn't. Shadowcaster just kept running, ignoring the pain and fighting to forget that which weighed him down. Each only grew more difficult as time passed, and the shadow mage eventually passed out from physical exhaustion and mental anguish. Both endeavors had proven too much for him.

OOC:  Beware, slight time lapse ahead.

Mighty Mage:  What was that?

*Unknown to Mighty Mage, Shadow had slipped in to the Order Fort and flew past him blending in with the shadows on the walls.*

Mighty Mage:  Nothing left for me here.  I might as well take off... *UHHHHH*  What was that?

*CRASH.  Sounds of a struggle could be heard in one of the other rooms.*

Mighty Mage:  I thought no one was in here...unless it's more of those dark spam creatures.

*rushing as quickly as possible to the room, Mighty Mage peers through the doorway to see a dark looking character fighting with one of the Spamlings.  Throwing it off him with his last ounce of strength, the dark one lunges for a dagger he had dropped.  The spamling charges again at the dark one this time being tripped.  The shadow jumps at it and delivers a final blow stabbing it with the dagger.  Seeing that he had killed the creature, the dark one leaves through the walls, not without covering the fort in a light shadow.*

Mighty Mage:  What was that?  I've never seen a living shadow before.  Unless, what if that was one of those Shadow Mages I had heard about.  I believe they are considered masters of the dark arts.  That would explain the control over shadows.

*Pulling out his sword, Mighty Mage looks for the entrance which is now quite harder to find now that the place has been covered in a shroud.*

Mighty Mage:  There it is.  Now I can get out of here.

*preparing to leave, Mighty Mage hears a loud squeal as a spamling, clinged to the wall, jumps at him.  Quickly moving out of the way, Mighty Mage draws his sword and slashes at the creature.  Suddenly the area of flesh that Mighty Mage's sword had struck began to glow.  He saw that the creature was worried now.  It wasn't long before small veins began to spread throughout the creature.  It's worried face turned to panic and suddenly it blew up in a small explosion of light and flesh.*

Mighty Mage:  What...just happened?

*Looking at his sword, and the remains of the creature, Mighty Mage thinks about the posibility that maybey the light power in his sword could have destroyed the creature.  Not wanting to find out any different, Mighty Mage leaves the fort as quickly as possible.*

Mighty Mage:  It's getting dark out.  I need to find an inn or somthing.

*leaving the Order Fort, Mighty Mage heads north in search of an inn or some other form of shelter besides this spamling infested hell hole.*

*while sitting and planing to myself in the rain, I hear sticks crack and the sound of a 'thump thump' on wet earth. I quickly draw my swoard and hide in some brush...looking for the creater of the ruckus in this rain. Eventually, I see something moving through the darkness. It appears to be running, taking off my sandals I follow it quickly, staying behind it so that it won't see me. It's moving on its present course so fast that I fear it will not stop. Suddenly, it appears to just....collapse....I stop suddenly, nearly falling over, and wait. It just lays on the ground, seemingly asleep from pure exhaustion. I caustiously move over towards the figure on the ground and use the tip of my sword to slowly remove the hood so I can see the face of this mysterious creature. As recognizment sets in, I give out a sigh, I sheath my sword and pick up the body. I walk back to the groove and make a lean-to shelter, just enough to keep the man dry. I build a very small fire close enough to him to keep him warm. After the fool's rush through the forest and getting all overheated, he would surely get ill again from the cold rain that fell. I watched him and waited for him to awaken. It amazed me how hard it was to see him when he was in the shadow, yet in the light he was plain as day. About an hour had passed when Shadowcastor finally awoke in a coughing fit*

Shadowcastor: What? Where am I no....*he stops as he see's me watching him*
Gorman: Did you find your friend you were looking for?
Shadowcastor: No...but I shall not give up looking for him.

*I refuse to acknowledge to him that I had the misfortune of...losing the one he was looking for. Instead I reply*

Gorman: I see. I have a quetion for you...
Shadowcastor: And that would be?
Gorman: When I first found you, you mentioned a name...it sounded to be a womans name. The name was Shiela....who is this person and what has happened to her?

About ten minutes passes and the rain has finally started to die down a bit.  Deciding to take advantage of the better weather, Mighty Mage takes off in the direction of the voices hoping to find a friend...or at least somone that won't kill him.*

Mighty Mage:  I've got to be quiet.  I don't want anyone to hear me just yet.

*continuing in the same direction, Mighty Mage sees a bit of a clearing in the distance in which smoke is rising and the glow of a fire can be seen.  Moving closer, he notices what appears to be an angel taking care of a hooded character.  Moving still closer, Mighty Mage accidently steps on a twig making an all to familier snapping sound.*

Mighty Mage:  shhhhhh.  Damn.  Maybe they didn't hear me.

*Suddenly the hooded man turns around in reply to the sound.  With one look Mighty Mage can barely hold his tongue as he sees the Shadow Mage he saw earlier in the Order Fort.*

Mighty Mage:  Him.

*The angel looks at the shadow mage in question.  The Shadow mage replies that he heard somthing.*

Angel:  It was probably just an animal.

Shadow Mage:  I don't think an animal would wander this close to a camp.  Especially with a fire burning.

He nods and looks towards a particular tree that the sound appears to be coming from. I slowly and ever so silently creep around it, out of the corner of my eye I see a cloaked figure. I quickly grab the figure and throw it into the dirt. Placing a knee in the middle of its back and holding the tip of my sword to the back of its neck, I take any pouches and disarm the unknown figure*

Shadowcaster watched, uninterested, as Gorm attacked the unknown stranger. Such a diversion was ideal for changing the subject and avoiding that painful topic, and he knew that the stranger could take care of himself long enough for the shadow mage to escape by the subtle smirk that lie on his lips. Shadowcaster had tried to let the past die, and this nosey archangel wasn't making things any easier for him. He carefully bundled a few stones and tree branches inside the cloak, then headed off, unbeknownst to Gorm.

The stranger had spotted him, but it was clear that he had no intention of letting his assailant know. If anything, he intended to help Shadowcaster escape, but why, the shadow mage was not sure. Perhaps that smirk had been meant for him, or against him. He was probably just reading too much into things, though. The shadow mage slipped silently away, leaving the two to settle their own conflicts. He still had to find Silver.

His doubts were gone. Shadowcaster now had no apprehensions against separating himself from the past, or at least he had hardened himself enough to that notion to convince him of it for now. Either way, he didn't care, as long as his past didn't haunt him. He now walked instead of running, relieved that he was again alone. Then, an idea hit him.

What if that stranger had been the creator of that dark slime he had eaten before? What if, instead of leaving the two to their own struggles, Shadowcaster helped him. It was always possible that this was the man he was looking for. Reluctantly, Shadowcaster glanced back to where he had just come from and began to walk in the direction of his gaze. Surprise was on his side, and together with this stranger, the shadow mage could escape once again from this archangel.

He hurried back to the campsite.

*gorman glanced up again from this mysterious figure that had been sneaking around the groove. My eyes widened in surprise that Shadowcastor had just...disappeared*

Gorman: Blast! Doesn't that foolish mage know I could possibly help him if he would just tell me what his plan are?

*meanwhile, the intruder is face down in the dirt trying to yell while I'm talking aloud to myself*

Gorman: If Shadowcastor is hiding now, perhaps there is something about this Shiela that he doesn't wish to talk about. The only thing I can figure out on why he'd run from his past is if this Shiela was dead....

*a thought strikes me. Perhaps if I can convince Shadowcastor to show me where this Shiela person lays, I could ressurect him/her so that Shadowcastor will no longer be miserable and a more formidable ally. I look into the woods and behind me carefully, in case the strange happens to be an ally to Shadow that I had mistakenly attacked. The thought was foolish as if this stranger was a friend to him, that Shadow would have yelled for me to stop. I raise my head again and yell loudly in hopes that Shadowcastor is still with in earshot*

Gorman: Shadowcastor! If your friend is dead I will make an offer to ressurect them for you!
Stranger: *mouth full of dirt* MMFF!!!! RRRGHH!!!!
Gorman: *looking down at the figure beneath me* Oh hush up!

OOC: Now that would solve some problems.  Can't wait to see how this turns out.  Anyway, BIC:

Vadskye, while wandering aimlessly, came across an old gnome lying under a tree.  Suddenly, the tree ate him up, despite the fact that it had nothing to eat with.  Surprised, Vadskye stepped where the gnome had lain.  The tree suddenly lashed out, attempting to strike him.  Thankfully, the mage's quick reactions saved him.  Vadskye jumped to the side, narrowly missing the tree's branches.  Suddenly, Vadskye realized there was a conspicuous lack of any of Silver's remains.  That meant that, being an illusionist, it could have been an illusion under that tree.  Anyway, it was still a menace.  Now out of range, Vadskye cast a Fire spell on the tree to make sure it never hunted again.

OOC: I did this to let Consis come back if he wanted to.  Just in case.

OOC:  Sorry about the long post.  I had that there so I wouldn't have to go back and chance loosing everything again.  It's gone now.

Mighty Mage:  MMMMMFFFFFF!!!! AAAARRRGHH!!!!

Angel:  I said SHUT UP!

Mighty Mage:  Let ME UP...UNHHHH

Angel:  Look, If you keep running your mouth I'll run you through.  GOT IT!

*Looking at the insane angel pounding him into the dirt, then at the sword in his hand, Mighty Mage feels that this is not the time nor place to talk back.  Examining the situation further, Mighty Mage notices that the angel also took the majority of his things.  There was no way he could reach his sword from here and without concentration, he couldn't come up with a spell.*

Angel:  Ok, now slowly, who are you and why are you here?

Mighty Mage:  LET ME UP YOU....*smack*  Ow, that hurt.

Angel:  I'll ask you one more time.  WHO ARE YOU?  Why were you sneaking around our camp?  Are you a spy or somthing?

Mighty Mage:  I'n not a spy.  Why did you attack me like...*smack*...OW...jeez.  Stop slapping me.

Angel:  I'm the one asking the questions here.  Now answer or you'll find yourself tied up in front of a bear cave.

Mighty Mage:  Ok, ok.  I wasn't spying on you guys.  I simply heard voices and I came over here to find out who they were coming from.

Angel:  Do you always wander around the forest at night?

Mighty Mage:  I wasn't wandering around the forest.

Angel: Then where did you come from?

Mighty Mage:  I just came from the Order Fort.  I was looking for some shelter when it bagan to rain.  Instead of standing out in the open and getting drenched I decided to take cover nder the trees.  When the storm died down I prepared to move on.  When I got up I heard voices so I went to go find out where they were coming from.

Angel:  So you're one of those Order nerds than.

Mighty Mage:  Actually no.  I never joined either side.  I origionally came to this land for information.  You see, I'm part of this elite group of mages where I come from so whenever we here of somthing new somone generally goes out to gather information.  Since I was heading in this direction anyway they asked me to go and take care of the studies.

Angel:  Why were you coming here in the first place?

Mighty Mage:  To be honest it was to find out about my friend, the spam king.  I had recieved information that he had died but when I arrived they told me he had been raised.  It's been nothing but trouble since than.

Angel:  Oh really.

Mighty Mage:  Yeah.  I havn't had much luck with people.  One miniute I'm enjoying a small party and the next I'm being dragged off to some cave to look for some guy I don't even know.  Then I get lost.  Next I find the guy only to discover he's gone completly mad.  First he tries to kill me, than he decides not to and instead imbue his friend with ultimate power.  After that they left me to rot in the cave so they could go take over the world or somthing like that.

Angel:  I had heard rumors about somone like that.  Wasn't it a time wizard or some sort of magic person.

Mighty Mage:  As a matter of fact it was.  I went to the Order Fort to go find them and stop them but they had already left by the time I arrived.  However, I did see your friend there, the shadow guy.

Angel:  Yes, he has a tendicy to take off like that.

Mighty Mage:  Well it looks like you found him than.  So what brings an Angel to these parts?

*The angel looks rather stuned at this question as if he is unsure how to answer.  Suddenly he removes his foot and helps Mighty Mage up.*

Angel:  Actually, I'm here on business for my god.

Mighty Mage:  Really.  That sounds like some quest.

Angel:  Yes, I am the Archangel Gorm.

Mighty Mage:  Well it's good to meet you...I suppose.

Gorm:  You never told me who you were.

Mighty Mage:  Oh, they call me Mighty Mage.

Gorm:  Don't look so mighty to me.

Mighty Mage:  You suprised me.  No one expects a man with wings to just jump out at them in the middle of the night,

Gorm:  It's not often I see a mage wandering around in the forest in the middle of the night either.

Mighty Mage:  I'll remember that the next time a crazed angel knocks me to the ground.

Gorm:  So you said you're after this Time Mage right?

Mighty Mage:  Yes I am.  I intend on stopping him before he can complete his plan.
My guess is they headed north towards the mountains to set up a base.

Gorm:  Wait, they?

Mighty Mage:  Yes.  A spam infested power freak is with the mage.  They intend on combining their powers to spread their rule.

Gorm:  Hmmmm, that could be bad.  Although...

Mighty Mage:  No, there is no although.  These guys have to be stopped.

Gorm:  Well, I suppose you could acompany us.  Of course I'll have to ask my friend first.  Your magic may come in handy...and if it doesn't we'll use you as bait.

Mighty Mage:  Oh, how...nice.

*I study this particulary add mage for a moment. I then go and retrieve his belongings off the ground and hand them to him*

Gorman: I must apologize for attacking you. If you knew the life that I had once lived you would have done the same thing. Besides, for all I knew you could have been about to cast a fireball into my camp.
MM: Well I had no intention to.
Gorman: Yes, I see that. You mentioned something about a time mage correct?
MM: *slowly* Yes...

*I nod and think to myself, I wonder if this mage is helping the new god?*

Gorman: You also said this mage was helping a new god correct? A "spam" god or something such as that?
MM: Yes...
Gorman: And by any chance, when you stated that they are based in a town by a mountain, did you notice if by any chance, that there was a forest near this village?
MM: Well...uhm....not exactly...

*This new mage that claims to be so mighty doesn't seem very...open. Thoughts of this mage as an ally seem to me more amusing then anything. As he babbles on and on about having to find this time mage and new spam god, I think of what an amusing puppet he would be. I could get this man to go and kill the spam god for me. However, the thought of having to repay him or owe him something disturb me. He suddenly babbles something about my helping him, and with out thinking very clearly as my mind is set on other things, I agree*

Gorman: Sure I'll help you. You have a common enemy to slay as do I. Even though I have no idea what he looks like, I still must slay him. So you have the advantage of knowing what you will be up against...
MM: Hey! I'm just glad you will help me! It would be a trifle more difficult alone. And since we are in this together, you won't be owing me anything.
Gorman: *grinning* Yes, and be glad I didn't kill you. Otherwise you wouldn't be on this quest.
MM: Yes, yes. I must thank you for not killing me. Thank you.
Gorman: Your welcome. Let's get on this quest of yours then, I do wish that Shadowcastor wouldn't have run off. He'd have been a wonderful ally as well.

A spam-infested maniac?!?

Shadowcaster had heard all he needed to know, and he silently snuck away from the camp. Night had fallen long ago, so he had no chance of being followed. He would leave those two to their alliance and walk his own path, the qiucker path. If this "maniac" was indeed the man he was looking for, then Shadowcaster no longer needed to search for Silver. The gnome's importance had waned ever since the shadow mage's binge on the dark delicacy he now searched fervently for. The voices faded, and with it, the importance of what they were saying.

Now that he was out of earshot, the shadow mage began running, heading to the north in a frenzied rush to get to this god. A god had made this stuff? Shadowcaster didn't know whether or not to believe the pair's observations, but he soon decided that an alliance was in order, god or not.

Through brush and around trees he ran, pacing himself this time so that he would not tire so easily. The shadow mage did not want to be found again. It amazed him how often he had run into people, two strangers meeting at the same camp in the middle of the night would never have happened before this truce. There must have been many more entries into the war while he had been unable to move. What was happening out there?

The only person he had recognized so far was Deimos, who was now an enemy, much like Mvass. But unlike the fire elemental, the magog had not turned, Shadowcaster had, and at the perfect time, too, it seemed. The disarray that plagued the two former parties served to camoflauge the defectors such as himself. Other than Deimos, Shadowcaster did not know if anyone had defected or not, but by the battle-stained throne room of the Order fort, the shadow mage had gathered as much.

He knew that this defector was more likely than not a prior loyalist to the Order party, perhaps a powerful officer like himself. He had forgotten the mention of the god's current ally, the time mage, so the notion of his friend's achieving a god status entered his mind. As unlikely as it sounded, Shadowcaster rationlized to make it believable, even though he truly didn't want to believe it. Piece by piece, Shadowcaster solved the mystery as he ran.

That was it! The sacrifice that was meant for Woock had been used for other purposes, and what had been intended to restore a god instead created one. That battle, it was between the old god and the new, the betrayer and the betrayed. RSF must have gotten the diamond somehow and inscribed the power into himself. But he could not have performed the sacrifice alone, someone who was skilled in the arts of magic would have had to at least have helped a bit. In any case, he hoped the time mage had not inherited the powers of dark spam.

As dawn broke, Shadowcaster stopped to rest. He was nearly there, but could only go so far before his body quit on him again. He couldn't let that happen. He spotted the trail that led to the Chaos fort and began to follow it. The shadow mage would rest in his own room today, and since no one besides Deimos suspected him of treachery, he would likely be welcomed. Wolfman would help defend him while he rested. The fort came into view, and within minutes, Shadowcaster found himself at the gates.

"Let me in, I am being followed and am in dire need of rest and nourishment."

The guard looked, wide-eyed, down at the same man whose funeral he had attended only two weeks before, and shouted for the gates to be opened. He was welcome after all.
