Dammit, I didn't mean to summon bloody pixies!
I reached through the void in panic and yankd out the first thing that came to my senses.
Cased inside the icy tent I could hear their cries as...something made short work of them.

'How do we get out?' Vadskye asked.
'Like this' I told them.

Bringing up the Ice Mace I struck the wall round us with a resounding Smash!

Splinters of ice flew all through the clearing and at the same time I focused my thoughts and drew out two water elementals to douse the area surounding us with water.

THERE! there were two shapes....the water was running off...something solid.

A knife flew past me to catch one of the shapes high up. There was a gurgling scream as it fell to the ground.
Deimos had also moved quickly, freezing the water on the other shape.
What we saw was disturbing. A frosty outline of a humanoid shape. But no human or elf ever had that elongated snout with the vicious beak.
With cracks and creaks it was shuffling away, breaking the ice that bound it.
Vadskeye's other knife flew at it, but bounced off the icy coating Deimos had given it.
Before any of us could do anything else it was gone, lurching into the forest away from us. We were no easy meat and the thing wasn't used to fighting obviously.

'Look' Deimos breathed.
The other form had been breathing shallowly, but had no stopped. And began to coalesce in front of us.
First off I saw it's grey scaly face, with it's cruel looking beak and a long tongue hanging out where it had panted for it's last breaths.
Vadskye's knife protruded from the thing's throat, and as he retrieved it the rest of the creature became visible.

It's body form wasn't apparent, as it was draped in loose, flowing skin, that began at the collar area and hung all the way down to the thing's feet.
There was even a second flap of skin on the back that could flop over the thing's head to hide it.
The thing had grown it's own 'clothes'.

I had an idea about the thing, but there was only one way to prove me right.
I told the other two my idea.

'You want me to remove the things skin?!' Vadskye asked in disgust. 'I'm not some orc headhunter you know. That's rotten!'

He changed his mind when I told him what my idea was.
'An invisibility cloak' he sighed. 'Every thief's dream!'

With a will he set out flaying the creature until we had removed it's long flowing skin.
The thing actually did look like a cloak of sorts.
Now for the test.

Vadskye draped the cloak around him.......nothng happened.

'Damn!' I said. I was sure that would work!'
'You mean I butchered that thing for nothing?' asked Vadskye testily. I didn't blame him. The thing stank like a week old corpse even though it had been dead less than an hour.

'Hold on' Deimos said.
'What?' we asked.
'Those things are creatures of this haunted forest aren't they? I mean, I've never heard of them before, so they must be found only here. And this is a magic forest isn't it?
Couldn't one of you channel magic energy into the cloak while you wore it? Maybe that's the key to how it works.'

I was disturbed. That was approaching actual intelligence on the Magog's part. If this went any further he might even be fit to travel with!

'It's worth a shot' said Vadskye, draping the cloak round him once again.
I felt a little tricle of magic from him leach into the cloak he wore.

Then....he vanished!

Deimos gasped.

'Did it work?' said Vadskye's voice, seemingly out of thin air.

Then he looked down.

Vadskye: "?!  Where'd I go?"

He was so surprised that the magic trickle stopped, instantly restoring him to visibility.

Vadskye: "Amazing!  That was actually smart of you Deimos!"

Deimos: "Actually?"

Vadskye: "Er... Well, um... Anyway, we should get going now that we're rested, hm?"

*The trail continued on through a murky swamp that seemed to never end.  The smell was horrible and the darkness was of no help either.  The trees were tall and damp not allowing for the angel to fly as he would have wished.  The swamp streched for miles and took our heroes a day's and night's walk to finally get through.  Once out of the swamp our heroes saw sunlight and sighed with relief.  Looking further ahead Mighty Mage saw what looked like a town but no town he had ever seen.  It's buildings looked as if they were forged of shiney metals, not of wood and bricks as most buildings were.  Some stood as tall as the towers that lied in his land.  How odd.  The three hurried along the path and reached a sign stating in three languages "Welcome to New Mahogany".  New Mahogany?  What happened to the old Mahogany?  The people even dressed unusual.  Most wore light clothing such as a shirt and simple pants.  They were well groomed so they obviously wern't peasants.  They continued to walk into the town and watched as the dirt path they had been walking upon became stone.  Only in the finest of castles had a stone walkway been seen.  The people who were busilly moving along all stopped suddenly and looked on our heroes.  Some tilted their heads in wonder and others gasped at the sight.  It was as if they lived in their own little world and new nothing of the things surrounding them.*

Mighty Mage:  Mamm, could you direct us to the nearest Tavern?

Lady: (in a thick brittish accent)  The what?

Gorman:  The Tavern woman!  You know.  T-A-V-E-R-N.

Lady:  I don't think we got one of those.  If you're looking for a place to eat why not try the restaurant down the lane.  By the way, nice costume there boy.  Never seen such a real looking angel costume before.

Gorman:  Costume?  I wear no masks.  I am an Angel.

Man:  Perhaps it ain't a restaurant you need but a hospitol.

Mighty Mage:  This restaurant...they serve food?

Lady:  Well of course they do.  What you think they do?  Sell horses?

Mighty Mage:  Uh..well

Kaylianna:  Let's go.  We may as well find this restaurant.

Gorman:  And I ain't crazy.

*Just to prove it Gorman flapped his wings abruptly making the man gasp in disbelief.  As they walked on looking for the place to eat they saw several men and women walking along small paths along side horses galloping along the alrger path they were heading down.  As they walked they heard a sudden yell from a man behing them*

Rider:  Get off the bloody road you fools!

*Moving off to the side they bumped into a woman holding a rope of some sort with a mutt attached to it.  As if things couldn't get worse the beast latched onto Mighty Mage's robe tearing right into it*

Mighty Mage:  Get off you beast.

Woman:  Don't you call my Muffin Wuffin a beast you dirty man.  Who do think you are?

Mighty Mage:  I am Mighty Mage.

Woman:  Mighty...who?  Are you one of those entertainer's who fights in The Ring?

Mighty Mage:  No.  I am not here to entertain.  I am no fool.  I am here on my own business.

Woman:  Oh...I see.  Running from the law are you?

Gorman:  Of course not.  We are on a mission to stop evil and save the world.

Woman:  Uh huh.  I see now.  The convention center is down that street.

Kaylianna:  Is that where the crystal is?

Woman:  Oh I'm sure it is...along with all your friends.

Gorman:  Really?  Much Thanks.

Woman:  Oh no problem.  Just watch where you walk.(Loonies)

*They walked on towards this cunvenshun center.  The woman spoke of the crystal being there and our friends.  That must mean Vadskye, Dean, and Demios are ok.  Thank the gods.*

The three adventurers made their way through the haunted forest, it's chilling glow casting eerie shadows on trees, making them look like faces.
Dean had seen Dendroids before, in Summoning class, though he had never summoned any himself. These trees made him think of those dendroids, twisted and with dark souls.

Gods but his imagination was running wild. He was putting off thinking about their mission. Get to the castle and somehow rescue Dervol from the clutches of Illyria without falling under the temptresses spell. Not even easy to think about never mind accomplish.

Suddenly there was a break in the trees and Dean saw a dark shape loom up ahead of them. It was the castle they were seeking. Now the hard part started.

'What now?' whispered Deimos. 'Do we charge in and fight?'
'No' I said. 'We don't know what's in there, it could be empty now, or filled with Forsaken Ones. We can't make a plan until we know what we're up against.
That's where you come in Vadskye'.

'Me?' whispered Vadskye in shock. 'What am I supposed to do?'

'You can scout the way for us, tell us what's waiting for us up ahead. With your new cloak you're the obvious choice. And you're used to sneaking around. We're counting on you'.

Vadskye squared his shoulders and nodded.
Wrapping his cloak around him he slunk off into the shadows towards the castle, vanishing from sight as he activated the Invisibility cloak.

'What do we do now?' asked Deimos.

'We wait', I told him.

'And pray'.

*There it was, the cunvenshun center.  A large building made of smooth stone with glass doorways.  A sign posted outside advertised what the woman said before.  A convenshun.  Maybe these were their foreign words for gathering.  The three looked at each other, shrugged, and continued towards the odd doors.  Suddenly with a WHOOSH they opened.  They must be magically enchanted.  This was a good place for the crystal.*

Gorman:  Did you see that?  Amazing!

Kaylianna:  Quite.  What magic do you think was at work there?

Mighty Mage:  Somthing I have never studied.  I must learn that spell...after we retrieve the Zypher's Emerald.

Gorman:  Of course.  Do you think it would be this far off though?  I mean none of the others were blown that far.

Mighty Mage:  And how do you know?

Gorman:  Between Kaylianna and listening in on you I've pretty much caught up to what's going on.  I attacked you, you killed me.  You went after RSF and he displaced you in time.  He then proceded to release the Forsaken One's by inserting all four crystals into the Master thingamabob.  The thing unlocked and the resulting release of pressure made an explosion which sent the crystals and weapons flying in different directions.  Some stuff happened.  You guys met these chicks.  Vadskye stole that shiny ball thing.  You guys then went to some mountain and found the earth crystal.

Mighty Mage:  So far so good.

Gorman:  If I'm correct that mountain was only a day's walk from that town.  Same with the Oasis where you guys found Dean's rock.  Why then has it been like three freakin days and and we still havn't found your CRYSTAL?

Mighty Mage:  What makes you think I know?  I may be a mage but that doesn't automatically make me an all knowing genius.

Gorman:  Let's just hope this is it.  That woman with the dog said the crystal was here with Vadskye, Dean, and Demios.

Mighty Mage:  That had me thinking.  Why wouldn't they have contacted us?

Kaylianna:  I'm sure they had a good reason.  What bothers me though is how they reached here before we did.  They headed in the opposite direction.

Mighty Mage:  I'm sure there's an explanation.  Perhaps they simply looked like our friends and the woman mistook them.  Let's go.  The sign points this way.

*So the three continued on into a room filled with the most unusual characters.  Most looked like mages of sorts while others...well...*

Edit by RSF: Well I'm more than interested as to what will happen next.

Vadskye gulped once away from the others.  Maybe he shouldn't have helped with the invisibility cloak after all.  Too late now though.  He looked over at the building.  It was crumbling and was obviously very old.  Perhaps he would be able to hear voices through the holes in the mortar.  He looked for a good vantage spot.  Finding one, he grabbed some vines and two long sticks.  Vadskye tied the vines to the branches at regular intervals and thus made a small ladder.  He leaned it up against the wall, making sure to bury the bottom of it a little bit in the ground so it would stay.  When he climbed it he found it to be even more secure than he had hoped.  It was almost like it was being held... Startled by that thought, he looked down.  It was still secure and it looked like there weren't any creatures nearby.  Still, it could be the mylmores.  But why would they go after an empty ladder?  Then a thought came to him.  Of course!  Mylmores had to be able to see each other.  Simple logic.  So they would be unaffected by Vadskye's cloak!  Realizing this, Vadskye looked up to the top of the ladder.  It wasn't too far away now.  Moving quickly, Vadskye cast a spell making himself lighter.  Then he simply planted his feet and jumped.  His momentum was enough to land him safely on his chosen station.  He heard growls of frustration below him.  He saw the ladder shake and realized they must be trying to climb it.  Vadskye quickly kicked the ladder away from him.  Again the growls.  They must be hungry mylmores.  Vadskye figured there was no reason to let them follow him around all day.  Or was it night?  But that was beside the point.  Vadskye conjured up some raw meat for the beasts and levitated it about ten feet off the ground.  Then he sent a few more pieces.  Vadskye could see the forest floor getting wet with their drool.  He sent the meat flying off slowly, with the mylmores after it.  The mylmores would get their fill eventually, as his spell couldn't last forever.  Now, with them gone, he could finally focus on whether Dervol was in this tower and if Illyria was with her.  He listened through a creack in the wall, being careful not to look in...

Illyria: "Dervol, you know you can't endure this forever.  Where are they!"

Dervol: "I don't... know who you're... talking... about..."

Illyria: "Liar!"

*metal sounds*

Dervol: "Aiiigghh!"

Illyria: "Now I'm going out for a while... be good while I'm gone, hmm?"

Dervol: "You... evil..."

Illyria: "Oh, I forgot.  I'd better leave this machine on while I'm gone, hmm?  Good-bye!"

Dervol: "Aarrgh!"

Vadskye: (to himself) "Illyria's leaving for now... I'd better go get the others and tell them to get her out now..."

Vadskye cast a spell of lightness and lept from treetop to treetop to go get Dean and Deimos...

Dean: Mylamores!
Deimos: Those invisible things?
Dean: Quickly!
Dean summoned a mylamore. It charged at the other mylamores. Deimos heard the sound of the fight and froze the general area.

*looking around the room revealed what appeared to be more magic at work.  The lanterns lighting the room seemed not to be on fire yet still rendered heat and light.  A young man wearing the robes of a Blue Mage approached the group and began to speak*

Blue Mage:  Hello friends and welcome to our gathering.  I see you have all come quite prepared for an evening of fun and enchantment.  Please feel free to walk around and make sure to visit all the tables.

Mighty Mage:  We are here for the crystal.

Blue Mage:  Wh...which one?

Mighty Mage:  You have others?

Blue Mage:  Of course.  Crystals, wands, staffs, everything a fan could want.

*Suddenly others joined the Mage, one appeared to be dressed like a necromancer of some sort.*

Necro:  Hey, Ted.  How come you didn't tell us Armon was here.

Blue Mage(Ted) :  It isn't Armon the Angel, Ned.  Armon has black hair and an obviously more holy look.

Necro(Ned):  I disagree.  In issues 55 through the recent 65, Armon became a Dark Angel so he could enter the depths of the abyss......

Mighty Mage:  I believe we should move on.

Ted:  Tell my friend you are not Armon because I believe his forgetfulness has made him miss the fact that in the Armon Super Adventure which came out last week, he revealed that his dark side was really a special mode that he only used for missions in the abyss.

Ned:  But Armon, why don't you tell my friend how you have YET to change back even while on the earth!

Gorman:  I'm not Armon.  I am Gorman.  I know of no Armon.

Ned and Ted:  WHAT?!

Ted:  How could you, and obvious angel fan not know of Armon?

Gorman:  Because I don't.  Why does this Armon matter so much?  Is he your town's gaurdian angel or somthing?

Ned:  Duh, he's only this years most awesome blockbuster comic hero.

Kaylianna:  Comik?

Ted:  Hey baby, why don't I show you my collection.

Kaylianna:  I am not your baby and I do not wish to see any of your collections.  Take us to the crystal right now.  We have a mission to complete.

*Suddenly Ned looked at Ted and they both nodded to each other in agreement.*

Ned:  So you three are here for the RP group.  They're in that room over there.  Right past the Card Games table.

Gorman:  Finally we're getting somwhere.  Good day Necromancer.  Good day Blue Mage.

Ted:  Yeah, good luck on that quest.  Maybe we'll join in when you start a new game.

*The Three, in total bewilderment, continued on towards the ArePee room where the mage and necromancer spoke of the crystal.  Perhaps this would all come to an end soon.  One could only hope.*

*What where they talking about? A Comic? What in the bloodiest of hell's is that?! I could only wonder what kind of sorcery it was when we finally got into the ArePee room. Several Harpies where flying around and chittering amidst each other before noticing our arrival. Being notorious thieves as well they obviously recognized me*

Harpy 1: Is that who I think it is? Gorman!? The warrior for his divine grace Crook?

Gorman: Yes, I am known as he

MM: How....do you know him?

Kaylianna: Indeed, I'm wondering the same thing at this moment...

Harpy 1: Forgive my rudeness...it's only natural among our kind. My name is Shriek, and I welcome Gorman and his friend to the Are Pee room. What may I help you with if you are indeed in need of assistance? As I believe that is what you are here for.

Gorman: We....are indeed looking for something. A crystal, magical in nature.

Shriek: A crystal hmm? Interesting. What sort of powers might this crystal have? What might it be called?

MM: It's a Zephyr crystal...it has the powers of the winds at it's command. After we lost it, among others, terrible things have happened where the crystals have landed.

Shriek: That would explain something rather...odd...that has happened lately...

Gorman: What would that be? Perhaps we could help?

Shriek: Perhaps you can... As of late, an enormous tornado has appeared near my home. I live in the side of a cliff and I can't get back home to feed my young. As most of my friends here also happen to live there, they are having the same problem. If this mysterious tornado is the cause of your crystal, I beg that you remove the blasted thing! I've tried twice but got thrown out of that tornado with so much force that it took me days to get back to the place!

Kaylianna: This sounds serious...what dirrection to your home?

Shriek: Just travel the road to the East. You'll see the mountain and the cliff face clearly enough when you feel the wind twisting on the outter edge of the tornado. It's force is so powerful that you can feel the force of it at least three miles away. I wish you luck on your journey.

Gorman: I assure that you'll get your home back.

MM: And I'll retrieve what's rightfully mine.

Gorman: Yes....two birds, *looks at harpies* beg your pardon, with one stone or so the saying goes. Now...let's move out shall we?

ooc:  You may notice what appeares to be typos in shrieks speech but I am simply giving her a bit of a German accent.  Don't ask why.  I'm just weird that way.

*Finally some decent information.  It seemed the blue mage told a tale.  The crystal was not in what he called the Are Pee room.  What our heroes did find was friends of Gorman.  It seems the angel can be useful afterall.  As they turned to leave voices rang out...this time not of the Harpies.*

Voice:  Hey, where are you guys going?  You're the three Ned said was coming to join us arn't you?

*Mighty Mage turned around to see a boy standing there holding somthing in his hand.*

Boy:  Well?  Sit down.  My name is Peter but from here on in I shall be refered to as THE GAME MASTER.

Mighty Mage:  We have no time for games boy.

Peter:  Game Master.

Gorman:  What ever.  Look, we have important things to...

Peter:  Hey, arn't you Armon?

Gorman:  This again?  I am not ARMON.  For the last time.  I am Gorman.

Peter:  Ok Gorman.  What kind of Angel are you?  You can be an angel of darkness or light.  And you, they guy in the robes.  I'm guessing you want to be a mage right?

Mighty Mage:  I am.

Peter:  Well, you don't have to be.  You can be a lord or somthing.

Mighty Mage:  By birthrite I am also a lord but how can you know that.  No one knows that.

Peter:  Rrrright. Ok, heres the quest...

Kaylianna:  You know of our quest than.  We must find the Zypher's Emerald.

Peter:  Excuse me.  I am the game master.  Now the quest is to vanquish the evil wizard of the forgotten realm.  Who wants to roll first.  How about you mage boy.  What's your stats?

Mighty Mage:  What are you talking about...game master?

Peter:  Ughhh.  Newbies.  Ok, since I'm the game master, I come up with the quest in which we shall travel on.  In order to play though you need to role the dice to figure out your stats.  You know, your strength and stuff.

Kaylianna:  Dice?  Those things in your hand?

Peter:  Uh, we arn't in character right now.  You can drop the medieval crap.

Mighty Mage:  Look boy...game master...we have no time to play with you.  We are on a REAL mission.  Not some childs pretend.

Peter:  Fine.  Go back to your basement and play.  You don't know what your missing.

*The three walked out with even more confusion in their heads.  From the ceiling flew down the harpies once more.*

Shriek:  It is of no use.  They do not understand you and you will not understand them.  This land dwells amongst itself with virtually no knowledge of the outside world.  It is here alone that we can fit in.  These children here...and some adults are all here to make believe.  You see, when we were first thrown here by the tornado we thought probably what you did.  That it was all magic influence.  It is not.  This is all real.  The people are different here because this is their culture.  We cannot leave from here for it will frighten the townspeople.  As long as we remain down here they will believe that we are like these children.

Mighty Mage:  So you're telling us that these people have no idea what is really happining?  They know not of the dangers that surround them?

Shriek:  Few do.  Many of the Forsaken Ones as they are called have taken up residency far from here.  They seem to be traveling to the East.  For what reason I do not know.  Nor do I really care.  For me it is better they choose not to. I do not need their influence spreading to my land as well.

Mighty Mage:  And if they do decide to come this way?  The people, sheltered or not, must know.

Kaylianna:  No Mighty, we can't.  Don't you realize where they're heading?  East.  Achadia.  The Royal Order.  They must have found out the location.  Why else would they head in that direction?

Gorman:  Woah, thse beasties want to destroy your home?

Kaylianna:  Believe it or not they hold a grudge.  They intend on wiping out those responsiple for their downfall.

Gorman:  But those guys are long dead...arn't they?

Mighty Mage:  It is true they have passed and the Forsaken One's know that.  They want their reletives, their children, their family...They want us.

Gorman:  Hell no.  I had nothing to do with their whole downfall thing.  My family has no mages in it.

Mighty Mage:  True but it was not only mages.  Other people, and even other races and species helped out.  No one, human or even demon could stand to see their world ruled by such evil darkness.  That is why we need to tell these people.  They must know what danger is amongst them.  The other Forsaken One's may be brainless enough to all gather in one area but Unholy and a few of the others have no intention on leaving this area.  It is beyond me how they have not yet found this untouched land.

Shriek:  Untouched is wrong mage.  I have lived north of here all my life.  Town was not nearly this big and different year ago.  Somthing touched this land but what, I do not know.

Migty Mage:  Somthing we can find out later.  For now we need to find out who is leader of this place.  I saw several tall buildings but none that appeared to be a castle.

Gorman:  Than maybe we should ask.  Perhaps Peter in there knows.

Mighty Mage:  BOY!  Who is in charge here?

Peter:  I told you.  I am.  I am the GAME MASTER.

Mighty Mage:  I think we may have more luck outside.

Shriek:  Good luck to you heroes.

Gorman:  Thanks for all your help Shriek.

Shriek:  It is of no problem to me Gorman of Crook.  I am here to help.  Ich schicke Ihnen meinen Segen.

*The three heroes said their goodbyes to Shriek with a promise to return.  They quickly left the convenshun center and once again went though the odd glass doors.  There were plenty of people around.  All that was needed was to find the right one.*

Gorman:  You sir.  Who is the leader of this town?

Man:  Buzz off freak.

Gorman:  I do not buzz.  My wings flap.

Kaylianna:  Mamm, can you please help us?

Woman:  Oh ho, get AWAY from me you...dirty little girl.

Mighty Mage:  This isn't working.  Shriek was right.  They're afraid of what they are not used to.  Perhaps we go else where.

Kaylianna:  We never went to the restaurant those people spoke of.  They said we can get food there.

Gorman:  Yeah Mighty.  I'm getting hungry too.  Let's go to the restaurant.  We'll ask somone there.

* So the three went off once more to find the thing called a restaurant.  It was about time they all had a good warm meal.  Maybe they could find what they needed to there.*

As Deimos filled the vale with frost I saw the outlines of the mylmores.
Quickly I threw lightnng bot after lightning bolt at them until the last of them lay twitching in a charred heap.
Inspecting the corpses I saw that I'd burnt them too badly to make more invisibility cloaks.

'I think we'd better get back to our hiding place' I told Deimos.
'Who knows, maybe Illyria can sense magic being used, and I don't want to put Vadskye in any more danger'.

As the magog and I made our way back to the thicket of trees where we would wait for Vadskye's return I whispered a prayer for his safe return, and news about the trapped Dervol.

*Cain's Pub: Restaurant and Bar, that must be the place.  Our heroes look at the neatly designed building, again with glass doors.  These one's unfourtianatly do not open on their own.  As they look inside they are delighted to see it looks quite similar to the taverns back home.  Sitting down at the bar they are even more relieved to see no one is staring at them like they were outside.*

Mighty Mage:  Hello barkeep.

Cain:  Name's Cain.  No formalities here buddy.  Now that you know who I am hows abouts filling me in on who you strangers are.

Mighty Mage:  You can call me Mighty, most do.  This is Gorman and Kaylianna.

Cain:  Well nice to meet you you folks.  What can I get you?

Gorman:  Mighty?  If everything else is all screwed up how much do you want to wager this is different as well.

Mighty Mage:  May I ask what you serve here Cain?  We are from out of town as you probably noticed.

Cain:  Yeah, we get a couple of out of towners every now and then.  You know this place wasn't always so fancy and new looking right?

Gorman:  We kind of figured that.  You know what happened?

Cain:  Not really.  Not many can remember that far back.

Kaylianna:  It couldn't heve been more than a year.  How can you not remember?

Cain:  Hate to burst your bubble little lady but it's been longer than that.  I'm what those folks out there call a before.  I was here before all this was.  I don't remember much of it though.  Kind of odd.  From what I do remember I've always owned this pub.  My house has always been down the street right off this place.

Mighty Mage:  Wait...more than a year?

Cain:  Yeah...I guess.  Seems like it anyway.  Oh, your menus.  I almost forgot em.

Gorman:  Menus.  Quite neat.  Look Mighty, all of the food is listed right here.  Look, Ham berger.  I think I would like one of your Hams please.  What is the...berger?

Cain:  Heh heh heh, Hamburger.  It's one word buddy.  It's a piece of ground beef inbetween to pieces of bread.  Real good with cheese on it.

Gorman:  Ok.  I'll take your word for it.

Mighty Mage:  I'll try one too.

Kaylianna:  As well as I.

Cain:  Your order will be up soon guys.  Will, we got three cheeseburgers.  You guys want anything to drink?

Mighty Mage:  We really shouldn't.  We still have work to do that requires focus.

Cain:  You don't have to have alcohol.  I'll get you our latest in drinks.  The Soda.

Gorman:  So-Da.  Ok.

Cain:  Here you go.  Try it.

Gorman:  Mmmmmmm, So-Da tastes good.  Unusual flavor but good all the same.

Kaylianna:  Quite refreshing.  It is good.

Mighty Mage:  Sweet.  Different.

Cain:  Is that good?

Gorman:  He always anyilizes things.  He has alot on his mind as of late so he hasn't been much in a good mood.

Cain:  Hmmmmm, alot on the mind huh.  It concerns our town doesn't it.  I knew when I saw you folk come walking in here there was trouble brewing.  What's going on?

Gorman:  I guess we can tell you.  To make a long story short, imangine the most concentrated evil on the planet that had been safly locked away for centuries, suddenly released.

Cain:  Huh?

Mighty Mage:  There is a group of the most foul of creatures preparing to pass through your town, even stop to destroy it all because my ancesters locked them away.  They are heading east which means some of them will have to pass through.  The worst of them are already there but there are others.  Not to mention the storm growing larger and larger as we speak.

Cain:  Ok, we got monsters and a storm heading over to destroy our town?

Kaylianna:  Uh huh.  That's pretty much it.

Cain:  You gotta tell the mayor.

Mighty Mage:  The who?

Cain:  The mayor, he's in charge.  You gotta go tell him this.

Gorman:  Where is he?

Cain:  City Hall. Take this road north until you reach a tall building.  The sign will tell you.  Go now.

Mighty Mage:  Were off than.

Gorman:  But the food...

Cain:  I'll wrap it up for you.  Go.

*The three with the new information headed as quickly as possible to the place called City Hall.  The mayor, man in charge of this town needed to know what was happining.  Let's just hope he listens...*

'She's there!' said Vadskye, 'the girl from the mirror. And Illyria's not here. Now's our chance! Come on!'

I looked up from where I had been examining one of the mylmores bodies that were less charred after I had killed them with my lightning bolts but it was just as I had thought before, and there wasn't enough unburned skin to make even a pair of gloves.

Bringing us back the way he had come we arrived at the crack in the wall where Vadskye had spied on the Forsaken One.
I could hear a woman sobbing in distress, but I couldn't see her face.
'Do you think you can find your way into that room?' I asked Vadskye, who nodded.

'Then lets go' I said.

*About a mile or so down the road was the City Hall.  This was the dwelling for this town's leader.  The Mayor.  He had to be informed of what was happining.  If our heroes could not stop it than he would have to evacuate the city.*

Gorman:  There it is.  Up ahead.

Mighty Mage:  City Hall.  This is it than.

Gorman:  Soooo, how do we find this mayor?

Kaylianna:  We'll have to ask.  It's the only way.

*Walking up to the tall building, the trio was once again greated by those glass doors.  These ones even more different than the last.  These doors rotated as if some wind was pushing them.  Stepping abord the opening the three rode around until they reached the inside.*

Kaylianna:  There, a desk.  Let's go see if that woman knows where we can find the mayor.

Gorman:  Mamm, could you direct us to the mayor please.  It is urgent we see him.

Secretary:  Do you have an appointment?

Mighty Mage:  I do not believe so.  That is of no concern though.  We must see the mayor.  It concerns the city.

Secretary:  Well you'll have to make an appointment.  I can't just let you in.

Kaylianna:  You must.  The town is in danger.

Secretary:  Of course it is.  Thank-you, good bye.

Mighty Mage:  Now what?

Gorman:  Enough of this Mr. Nice guy crap.  Woman, if you don't lwt us in I'll slice your head off so fast...

Secretary:  Uh huh, excuse me sir.  I really don't have the time now.  I'm going on my lunch break.

To Be Continued...

The three climbed down, walked to where the door was, and entered. There were dead things everywhere. Bats, cats, mylomores, all sorts of things.
Deimos: Creepy.
Dean: You said it.
Vadskye: Come on!
They walked onward.

Vadskye told the other two to stay behind while he made sure that Illyria was still away, sure enough, Dervol was alone on her bed.  Wait, something was odd about that bed.  It looked... pointy.  Nails!  Poor Dervol!  Vadskye crept back to the others and told them the way was safe.  They approached Dervol's sleeping form...

continued from before...

*The three sit in wait.  Never has the virtue of paitence been expressed this long by any of the heroes sitting in this room.  The world as they know it is on the verge of destruction but they must wait for somone's lunch break.  Gorman, not being the keeper of too many virtues figits several times fluffing his feathers as he does so.  A man passes by, by the look of him he is a simple attendent, a simple attendent not to happy at the man dropping feathers on his clean floor.  Even Mighty Mage has past his breaking point and grunts in disatisfaction.  Kaylianna has fallen asleep against one of Gorman's wings and breathes peacefully as if she had not a care in the world.  If only sleep were that easy.  These days it does not come as often as Mighty Mage would wish.  As the three sit, hopful for any sign of the woman's return, a door swings open revealing a man, slighty overweight and with thinning hair.  He nudges his spectacles further up his nose and approaches the three.  His white shirt is stained with sweat as if he had returned from a hard days work.*

Man:  You must be the three my secretary told me about.  I'm the Mayor of New Mahogony.  Now what is it I can do for you.

Gorman:  For starters you can...wait, did you say mayor?  You're the mayor?

Mayor:  Yes I am.  Mayor Kilpatrik.  Now from what I hear, you three have been waiting in here all day, about six hours to be exact.  What on earth could you possibly need that is that important.

Mighty Mage:  Your city is going to be destroyed.

Mayor:  Oh...is that all?

Mighty Mage:  That is the sum of it all.

Mayor:  Let me guess, you three can conveniently save it from destruction, right?

Gorman:  It is a posibility.  You see, there are two things you need to be concerned about.  One, a rather large storm is heading in this direction and contained within it is the key to stopping the other problem that plagues this world.

Mayor:  And that is...

*Kaylianna, startled awake from the talking suddenly screams FORSAKEN ONES*

Gorman:  Exactly.

Mayor:  What is wrong with her?

Kaylianna:  I beg your pardon sir.  A bad dream is all.

Mayor:  Care to elaborate on these four snaken ones?

Mighty Mage:  Forsaken Ones

Mayor:  Whatever.

Gorman:  They are the epitimy of evil so to speak.  Each one is a concentrated form of pure darkness.  They were released by some man...partly my fault...but now we have to stop them.  They want to take over the world and rule it once more as they did all those years ago.

Mayor:  Wait...evil beings?  They wouldn't by any chance look somthing like this would they?

*Mayor Kilpatrik pulls out a piece of paper with a sketch of an unknown Forsaken one.  It is quite skinny and tall but has teeth like no other.  It's claws are twice the size of it's teeth and each one looks sharp as hell.  It's eyes look glossy yet blank and all the same filled with evil.*

Mayor:  This thing was sighted by a group of campers .  There were five total.  Three returned.  They said they awoke one morning due to a bright flash from the distance.  Suddenly they heard a noise that sounded like somthing approaching.  They got out of their tents and came face to face with a beast so hidiously frightening, neither of the three forgot.  They claimed it spoke.  They all said it said a name but two of them could not emember.  The third however said it called itself Carnigore.  It killed two of those campers and you three claim you know what this is?

Kaylianna:  Right.  It is in fact a Forsaken One.  A lesser one but still strong and deadly.  From what I remember from my studies he had control over the forests deadliest beasts.  It wasn't normal control though.  He would touch them and they would change.  Become nearly as hidious as Carnigore himself.  He is quick to anger and always hungers.

Gorman:  Great.  Just great.  I thought there were only thirteen.  Now you guys are sayingthere are more?  When did this happen?

Mayor:  You must stop it.  Please.  I beg of you.  But tell no one.

Gorman:  But that's why we came to see you.  You have to warn the people.

Mayor:  I don't have to do anything but serve my term in office and do a good job of sucking up to the people so I can get re-elected next year.  Don't you DARE screw this up for me or by god I'll have every last one of you.  Good day.
