Immortal makes an excellent point, I have very much enjoyed Heroes VI using class based development rather than individual specialities, to be honest I'd completely fogoten about that one.
I also really like the Magic classes and some of the abilities available for development esp. stealth

i would like to see heroes still on the battle field because it does much more for the game building 5 heroes then like one hero in h3
much more to think about and much more to do

Na Jas heroes take away the fun of using creatures in the game.
You are using 5-6 heroes you dont even need most of the creatures in the castle.
Whats theuse of building & having creatures when all you need are heroes.

So you agree that this game should be based off heroes & creatures should be obsolete then Teacher?
Yall might as well stick to heroes 4 then because the creatures is one part of the fun in the game.
Not just the best creature in each castle type & the rest are just for show.
Like in heroes 3 every creature had it's use.

hte game is good the way it is, better after equi patch, and could be better and attractive for h3 players if the rate of creature growth in town would be doubled. this way you can have everything you want. even though, h4 is a huge progress from h3, no doubt. Maybe the complexity of the game overwhelmes some lazy minds who likes to stick with the old thing.
that's all, if you try it , you'll like it, can't be born knowing things. and trust me need more than 1 try to begin to understand how things work.

i saw you buy 1 angel and use him only when i played you lol no other ceatures
your going to walk around with level 1 ceatures?

Just tell me how many heroes does a good h3 player use a game ? (i'm asking about a good player, so don't share your experience with us )
there are maps and maps, maps for only level 4 creatures, maps for level 1 and 2, but you won't get that through your stubborn head until you get hands-on experience .
We can't be all crazy for playing it, we're not many, that's the truth, but that's only because the ones who played h3 dissed it from the beginning, oh, no multiplayer released in x months, must suck as a game.
I loved heroes 1,2,3 and now 4. And i have to say, heroes 2 was better conceived than heroes 3. You are now talking of heroes 3 being better made and all, think of the number of mods and patches and templates for random maps that have been applied to it.
It's true, heroes 4 has no random generator, but the so many different ways to develop heroes/armies makes us like playing the same map for times and times over, until now, i never had 2 exact same games, or brutally similar.

It dont have nothing to do with whos good but what you like to have in heroes 5.
Who gives a flying F if your better at heroes 4 then I am.
Plus I did not just use 1 angel & if you think I suck in heroes 3 then thats on you too.
if you rather use heroes then creatures then thats cool too.
Dont start throwing your arrogant I am the best heroes 4 player crap on here.
I will back my own word up, you guys can all gang up on me becuse it wont change the way I like the game.
No wait maybe if I was a better heroes 4 player then I will have my vote count .

I agree that the increase production rate for lower level creatures would definately make more players use them.just look at maps like powerspot,where its possible to get huge numbers of level 2 creatures,etc.not many people ignore them then . The other main reason for ignoring these troops in favour of just level 3 and 4 creatures is cos they just slow you down far too much(in my experience,at least).perhaps increasing their speed (on adventure map,not in combat)would also encourage more players to make use of them.Otherwise any use they have is far outweighed by the fact they cost you 10-15 moves per day,and that is likely to cost you the game.

I agree with tenakha that the map movement is a huge issue. I have always said that the speeds need to be reversed. The level 1 creatures the fastest and the Highest level slowest in comparison.
But, I have an even better concept.
DO away with levels all together. Give each town 8 creature options. They will obviously vary in over all strength and abilities. But during the fighting process and gaining experience have each creature you buy have options to level up as well as you are playing the game. So say outta the 8 creature options in your castle you, can only buy 4 of them. Lets use 4 level 2 creatures for example here. Harpy - Ghost - Pikeman - Medusa and finishing off the rest of the 7 slots would be 3 Heroes Maximum!!!
As you are fighting and gaining experience you can DECIDE where all the earned experience goes. So lets say you earn 1500 experience. Instead of it being equally distributed amongst all 7 stacks etc... you can give all 1500 to the Medusa if you wish, and then as the medusas level up, they gain levels same as heroes does. So your final army could in theory look like this
Level 15 Paladin
Level 12 Warden
Level 10 BeastMaster
Level 6 Medusas
Level 5 Pikemans
Level 10 Ghosts
Level 8 Harpies
And as the creatures gain levels so does there strength and special abilities increase. So each game would have infinite possibilities, and choices. Many more possible army combinations instead of always leaving out level 1-2, you would have 8 town creature options that are all basically level 1. They use this experience points for creatures in age of wonders 2,although the level is capped at level 3.I found this to be one of the few aspects of the game that i liked,soi think this would be a good idea.troops become more effective the more you use them.

my opinion
alright first of all were going to need superb graphics... we want about 6 or 7 creature buildings....get em all or a SMALL chooseing thing, one hero in a battle with special abilities also in the battle we want more stratagic options not just whos monsters are higher level... really in deph plot line but not to much as to where ur utterely worried about it, long levels couple hours in each level make it fair, dont put in any special things thats guna give player 1 a good advantage and screw player 2 over figure something out to make magic creative...not just learn a spell cast it....
well thats all my imput so far...
yes i know its sloppy

Ok these are some of my thoughts on how to make a better game.
1. 7 creatures seems about right but why just 2 upgrades. Id like to see maybe 5 or 6 different levels for each unit. so you could end up creating "super-pikemen" that could battle dragons on equal terms.
2. I dont know whether chaining is gonna be in the new game but if so make an icon that allows you to swap armies between heroes with a single click. this would speed the game up a lot i think.
3. no more useless spells or skills like eagle eye or protection from water. protection from elements spells should have been a mass spell at expert level anyway at the very least and maybe even have protected against everything of that element...maybe even forbid that kind of magic to be cast at all.
4. allowing heroes in the stacks seems good to me. the rap i heard on that in the chatrooms was that theyre too weak. well if thats true, dont use em. did i miss something here?
5. ok this is an idea ive been tossing around in my head for awhile. have a short game option where the computer randomly generates a list of items, artifacts and spells to be used in the game...both sides start with a large amount of gold and bid on them at the beginning and then begin playing on a fairly simple map. the game would finish more quickly because youd have half your stuff already heading out the door. myself, im a fan of the longer game, but this might be good for the impatient or those pressed for time. the amount of time needed to play homm3 and i think homm4 was one of the big complaints i heard.
6. what about the idea of racial bonuses for each castle type? say you start with a certain amount of points at the beginning and you can put points into things like +1 speed for all troops, +2 attack for all troops, +1 stats for all heros....and assign those bonuses a certain point value allowing you to custom design the strengths and maybe weaknesses of your castle type.
7. ok the worst thing about homm4 in my opinion was the imbalance of resources. you seemed to desperately need one resource type and then after you get your highest level build resources become useless for their own sake and are simply traded for gold or ignored if you have enough of that.
the more useless items you have in a game the more that game will tend to stink.

I too think you are wrong here...the creatures are as necessary as they are in heroes 3...i agree though that the hero should stay outside of battle, but the heroes 4 way is much better than the one in heroes 3 , where every hero have speciality, which, after years of online experiences, lead to ban most of them in multi games...
...and yes, movement is really a problem in heroes 4, taking dwarves or balistas in your army is suicidal...

ALL that i want is a Ubisoft representative to be in charge with the community issue, in order to have not the feeling that we're talking only between us. We definetely need some official feedback, of course no secrets reveiled about the incoming serie, but some points for that our suggestions to be useful INDEED.
Once we are guided , the imagination shall be unleashed along that path.
