Build Wonders
For those of you who have played Civilization, I'd like to propose HOMM also have wonders in the game that can be built by only one player, but every race has the opportunity to build one.
Great Library - I explained this in another thread
Capitol - We already know about this structure
Grail - Already been covered
Collesseum - Gives +2 attack and +2 defense to all heroes.
Mana Pool - At the beginning of each day, each heroes Spell points increase at least half way.
Archery School - Penalties are not given for ranged attacks that are too far (gets rid of the broken arrow)
Archeologists - Gives a random relic.
Temple - Increases luck and morale to all troops by 1.
Resource Warehouses - Acts as a mine of your choice that can be changed every turn. One turn it could give 1000 gold. Next turn 2 ore, next turn, 1 crystal.
Hospital - one quarter of all your losses in battle return to this building. They are available for recruitment in only gold and at half of the original price.
These will be built at a reasonable cost of resources however it will take multiple days to complete. This will be done by building a structure that you upgrade like 5 times where the initial building and 3 upgrades do nothing, but the 4th upgrade gives you your wonder.

I dont like it, then you will be forced to leave a hero in each castle no? to get the reearch
Quote: Collesseum - Gives +2 attack and +2 defense to all heroes.
if anything it should give moral
Quote: Mana Pool - At the beginning of each day, each heroes Spell points increase at least half way.
mana pool exists it gives double spell points when you visit it, if it is how you suggest it would be to powerful. and wouldnt make sense, you must visit it
Quote: Archery School - Penalties are not given for ranged attacks that are too far (gets rid of the broken arrow)
could be used to upgrade units, otherwise i dont see how having a school could be helpful to units youve had since day one. especially if those units havent visited it.
Quote: Archeologists - Gives a random relic.
dawins voyage on Civilisation? could be neat, but i think it should work as it uses 100 gc per day* and there is a chance each day you will find something.
*note amount will rise with time at a rate of +10gc per day since you bought the wonder, also the power of the relic will rise with time.
Quote: Temple - Increases luck and morale to all troops by 1.
dont we already have these? anyways a temple is not a wonder, maybe a cathedral? if cathedral (+1 morale is weak, especially on HIV maybe +5 morale) either way it should only help units withing sight of it. i.e. 35 tiles from the castle.
Quote: Resource Warehouses - Acts as a mine of your choice that can be changed every turn. One turn it could give 1000 gold. Next turn 2 ore, next turn, 1 crystal.
i take it you dont like the mining skill? to be able to purchase a gold mine in your castle seems well.. silly. it would have to be made really expensive, and we already have resource silo's.
Quote: Hospital - one quarter of all your losses in battle return to this building. They are available for recruitment in only gold and at half of the original price.
killing ressurection skill are we?

i dont fully understand this.
it should take multipal days agreed. you cannot purchase anything else in the mean time, and you creature growth will be halted. (your men are working on the wonder not training)
only 1 castle in the entire game may ever create any given wonder. i.e. there cannot be 2 cathedrals, if you are building a cathedral and have 1 day left to go when your opponent builds his, you lose all the time and resources spent on it.
(or perhaps you complete the building when it should have been done but it has a significantly weaker effect)

That would be a decision you would make. Obviously you aren't going to do that for a hero with crappy magic stats. So it's worth it only for heroes with good magic stats.
Quote: Collesseum - Gives +2 attack and +2 defense to all heroes.

Who cares what it gives? These are just crappy examples I came up with off the top of my head. If you don't like the idea of wonders, don't tell me it's because you don't like the wonders I came up with.

Oh I said that wrong too. I meant up to halfway meaning that it would only affect the heroes if they had less than half of total magic points. I don't think that's too powerful. Think of it as giving all your heroes a really powerful mysticism.
Quote: Archery School - Penalties are not given for ranged attacks that are too far (gets rid of the broken arrow)

I don't think you understand what I said. You don't have to upgrade your units. It's like giving all your heroes a Golden Bow. All ranged attacks are w/o penalty. That's very helpful.
Quote: Archeologists - Gives a random relic.

That's not a bad idea. I like it. Every 2-3 days you get a chance to get a new artifact.
30% chance - nothing
25% chance - treasure
20% chance - minor
10% chance - major
5% chance - relic
Ignore the percents. Just fill in the numbers with something you like better.
Quote: Temple - Increases luck and morale to all troops by 1.

Maybe we could change it to Monotheistic Temple. Then it can affect everything. Again my amounts may be off, but I'm just trying to give a crude example. Just fill in your own numbers from now on.
Quote: Resource Warehouses - Acts as a mine of your choice that can be changed every turn. One turn it could give 1000 gold. Next turn 2 ore, next turn, 1 crystal.

I never played Heroes 4.
Quote: Hospital - one quarter of all your losses in battle return to this building. They are available for recruitment in only gold and at half of the original price.

I never heard of resurrection skill.

Okay. You know how you can upgrade fort into citadel, then to castle. Okay Think of there being more upgrades to the castle. Except that Fort, Citadel... don't give you any benefits. So if can't build anything one day, then you can spend a day on a wonder instead.
I forgot to tell you that you know at all times any wonders your opponent is building. So if you start on a wonder that your opponent has already begun, then you are wasting your time. My theory behind this is that each player will have some advantages from the wonders that they have built. This will make the game unique. If one player has the Great Library and the Other has the Mana Pool one player will be able to cast better spells, but the other could cast more spells. The wonders make it so that you can build the wonder that matches your playing style.
