Heroes V storyline
Here's my idea:
"After the global destruction made by Kilgor and Gelu, the flaming lands has died out. From deep beneath the ground, the worlds spirit is beginning to resurrect the planet. Everything is growing again and life is now returning. However, destruction is closing up. An old prophecy called the Dawn of Destruction is speaking about four swords which can be combined to destroy the dimension. Gelu, Kilgor, Crag Hack and a demon called Kil'Jaeden is now forced to find these swords. Against their will, the Demon Lord Arragaxz of hell controls them. The only salvation lies within the lich Darievor, the only survivor of the global destruction blast that destroyed earth. He must stop them from killing all life, and he must destroy the Demon Lord that is controlling them.
The swords are:
Armageddons Blade
Sword of Frost
Gaia Blade
Storm Sword
Gelu and Kilgor lost their swords after the horrific blast, and time is short for the demon lord. If he does not find the four blades within a year, the spirit of earth will consume them and destroy them.
Dawn Of Destruction"
I will create a story soon, but this is the main description of my idea.

To Doomnezeu
Using VERY black magic, the demon lord was able to reform and recreate gelu and Kilgore's bodies as well Crag Hacks and Kil'Jaedens.
Yes, the world is totally destroyed, but this is a long time after the blast. The only thing left are dust and dirt. The spirit of earth used it's last powers to resurrect itself.
The demon lord came from the third dimension, hell. That should not be so difficult to understand.
It can be a little confusing, but i don't have access to all knowledge i need, so i am going after the little i have. And i know it can seem a little farfetched.

Here's my total intro of the Dawn of Destruction:
DAWN OF DESTRUCTION
"The lands are flaming... all life is gone...
Only one soul remained... an undead called Darievor...
His time is short... He must find the four swords of destruction...
Before the four horsemen of the apocalypse does..."
Darievor found himself lying in the middle of a circle of flame. His bones had large tears in it. The air smelled rotten flesh. The smell came from the surroundings. Dead bodies everywhere.
DARIEVOR: "Hmmm... useless bodies... i cannot raise them."
Darievor stood up. He watched the lands of Deyja. It burned silently. He knew what had happened. He knew what Gelu and Kilgor had done. Fools. Clashing fire and ice together.
DARIEVOR: "I thought Gelu had at least some intelligence. However, Kilgor... stupid barbarians. That reminds me of Crag Hack that so nicely worked for me some years ago."
He began to walk away, in search of bodies.
Two thousand miles away, Gelu awoke. He smelled smoke.
GELU: "Armageddons blade... we were fools..."
He understood that something had revived him. Maybe a necromancer. But the chances that they had survived was very low. He ventured a while looking for the blade that he had use to scorch the earth. Suddenly, he heard a whispering.
UNKOWN VOICE: "Are you alive?"
GELU: "Who's there?"
He saw a man running upwards a hill.
UNKOWN VOICE: "A survivor!"
Gelu saw who it was.
Kilgor.
Kilgor stopped dead.
KILGOR: "You!"
GELU: "Yes, me. How did you survive this blast? The whole planet is scorched."
KILGOR: "Why don't you tell me how this happened?"
GELU "I don't care. We should not draw swords again. That will only scorch the earth once again. And that would be very unnecessary, wouldn't it?"
KILGOR: "You though have a point."
But then Kilgor pushes Gelu in the side and tries to reach his blade.
GELU: "Gone."
KILGOR: "Where is it?"
Gelu ignored him.
KILGOR: "Tell me you fool!"
Gelu just starred out in the sky. A flash reached Kilgores eye.
KILGOR: "What the heck is that?"
The flash revealed a hideous face of a demon.
DEMONIC VOICE: "Wahahahahaha! I have found two of my four horsemen. Now, servants, go fetch my swords.
Gelu and Kilgor got a burning desire to find their swords, and they ventured away.
Somewhere in the middle of the barren wastelands of Outland, Crag Hack had awoken of a horrible explosion. He had scratches and scars on his flesh, and he found himself in the ruins of Outlands capital, Ariaggen.
DEMONIC VOICE: "Barbarian. Heed my word. Find the Gaia Blade for me. You will be rewarded."
Crag Hack felt the same burning desire as Gelu and Kilgor. He started to look for the so-called Gaia Blade.
And the last horseman... a demon called Kil'Jaeden. He had been a human once, and did not have the same resistance as pure demons. His red eyes flashed in the dark of Gorynynchs cave. He found his master dead. Gorynynch had been teared to pieces by the hell blast. Kil'Jaedens corrupted heart heard the damned voice that already had begun to control the three other heroes.
DEMONIC VOICE: "Now, apprentice, find the blade of Storms for me. You will receive great powers for running
this errand for me."
And then the circle began to rotate. The wheel of time had started it's countdown.
The earth shaked as Darievor moved through large masses of ruins.
DARIEVOR: "Where can i find a reliable source of corpses?"
Nighon! They must have survived the blast in their deep tunnels. At least he hoped so.
THUNDERING VOICE: "Undead... you are the only savior now. If you do not stop the horsemen of the apocalypse from aquiring the blades of destruction, our world will be destroyed. I am the spririt of earth. If you can hold them back for at least a year,
i can devour the blades. Save mankind, lich, since you are the only one that knows
about the black fate that is nearing. The people in Axeoth cannot save the world now.
If a red sun rises, the demon lord will have all powers he need to enter the first
dimension. If he enters our dimension, he will combine the four blades and create a
rain of apocalypse that will shed all life in the universe."
Darievor understood that he had to stop them soon. He had not done what he was here to do.
After the voice had totally disappeared, he began a search for a intact Necropolis, or at
least some intact corpses.
Then he wandered... wandered away with his fate... the Dawn of Destruction...

HOMM 5 in this setting would mean just 4 heroes travelling in empty and burned wastelands with nobody to fight, because remember: everybody is dead and just those 4 guys got resurrected. So, boring...
Instead HOMM needs a world filled with numerous rich and ancient cultures, each with their traditions, beliefs, and ways of life. Why not continue in Axeoth, at least it has civilization.

There are monsters. I said that the earth resurected itself, and it's inhabitants too if i didn't add it to the introduction. Axeoth will have a big role in the story later on when the demon lord enters the dimension. It's such a pain in the a-s-s when people complains. And am i the only one with a storyline? Is Heroes V going to be a pointless, boring and mostly useless game?

Story Lines
Heroes has a long history of changing "worlds". So does "Might and Magic" itself.
The 4 heroes concept could be used in a "the Demon Lord moved these heroes to a new land, a land of strange magicks and creatures", thus allowing for the changes that are inevitable.
As for Gelu and Kilgore, they could very easily have been "plucked out of time and space" just prior to the cataclysm.
That's the wonderful thing about fantasy. As long as the rules are obeyed in the particular world it's happening in, then all is well.
And in Heroes 5, the rules will be what they are.

i have modified my version a little bit to make people understand it better:
AFTER the reckoning, and some years after the emigration to Axeoth, Erathias landscapes had grown back. The planets inhabitants were alive again, as well as the races. Gelu, Kilgore, the demon Kil'Jaeden and Adrienna were back and forced to search for four damned swords:
Armageddons Blade
Sword of Frost
Gaia Blade
And
Sword of Storms
If these swords were combined and used by a black heart, the world we know as the first dimension would be totally eradicated, and only the other divine dimensions would be left. Hope came from an unsuspected way... a lich, a really mean one, known as Darievor, was the only survivor of the apocalyptic Reckoning. He had wandered the earth for all the 60 years that the earth had used to regenerate itself.
The earth itself told him that he must stop these four horsemen of doom from aquiring the damned blades for the demon lord Arragaxz, or his world would be destroyed.
Gelu and his gang was for 60 years trapped in a black world were Arragaxz rules. That sounds a little more logical than that they would've been resurrected.
To UncleJR
Just becuase it's in Erathia again doesn't mean that it has not new magical creatures.

Here's a short form of mine one:
Storyline:
For many years, Axeoth has been overruled by six kingdoms: Chaos, Death, Life, Might, Nature and Order. Six great warlords controlled six great towns: Academy, Asylum, Haven, Necropolis, Preserve and Stronghold. Six great armies inevitably fought each other hand-to-hand in this everlasting war. These things have endured for many years, so nobody could stand anymore. All of the forces were terribly decreased; all of the powers were merely lost. It was the very best time to announce the peace.
And in the year 79 a.R. (after the Reckoning) the miracle happened. All six warlords met in the center of the lands of Gold, far away from the Axeoth. They were tired of wars and immediately announced the thing, which has been wanted for ages: the peace. Peaceful and calm times began. Nobody fought. There were no even smallest rows. Everybody has been doing what they wanted for years.
But then, in the year 93 a.R., all of the warlords died. Their powers and authorities were given to their descendants. But that has been the most stupid thing done ever. The peace that has endured for years was disturbed. Another great war began…
All of the kingdoms began to evolve and strengthen themselves. Luckily, for them, of course, kingdoms had the same ambitions so they divided into two fractions of Good and Evil. They immediately began to build new towns, research new spells, create upgrades and of course, change tactics. Axeoth, which was tired of this peace, showed many new secrets to unfold. Work started to be in full swing.
In the year 96 a.R., something graver happened. Kingdom of Nature sent one gross of elves to aid Order in building of new towns. They thought that elves were the best help in defence using stealth. They were the best units that can defend without knowing that they’re there. And another time, luckily, because Necroses’ scouts were caught in the lands, next to the Quicksilver River, far in the north, while they were trying to sneak into the subsidiary that belongs to the Order fraction to find out the secrets. Elves used their ability of Invisibility using their cloaks to guard the place. The ambush worked. Scouts were captured. Fortunately, was on their side. Elven mages summoned a priest to exorcize the scouts. After few hours, they unfolded the very best and the very worst thing of all: alliance of Evil started building a town and recruited the creatures of the powerful Underworld to aid them.
Unfortunately, barbarians were the last kingdom to know newest things. They sent out a scout to investigate the plans, which had been investigated earlier. After few days, Elven prince Therwen arrived and retold what elves unfolded when aiding Order to Dogwoggle III, king of Stronghold. He became anxious of what he done: he sent a scout that was his youngest son to death. He almost did another stupid thing by sending an army into the fraction. Another time fortunately, Therwen was there and stopped him. Still, a terrible row started. But it was finished quickly and very sensible decision was made: to recreate Stronghold into a new town which should have the ultimate power by using its might and newest thing researched, Battle Magic.
Meanwhile, the Evil ones discussed what to do with the scout if they caught one. It sounds that it was a stupid discussion, but still, it made its own. The scout of mighty Stronghold was captured by Chaos. It’s good (to the scout) that the decision was to torture using magic. Barbarians were resistant to magic and loved pain, so the Evils could no torment him and get the information they want. Unluckily, lich king Norticus (he’s an undead, you know, so he cannot die) was there. He poisoned the blood of the scout Waerjak II, but didn’t kill him. He tried to torment him, but failed.
Then suddenly, Waerjak II screamed loudly. The scream spread all over the lands. And luckily, Regnus Khan, son of the archmage Sylas Zanj, heard the scream. He came to help Waerjak II immediately with a twister of clouds and saved him. He ported him to its hometown and healed him. Dogwoggle III ran down to see his son (yah, the scout was his son), but he was quite alright. Waerjak II retold what he found out. He spoke about the new town of Evil, Inferno. A disaster ran down through the hearts of barbarians and elves. They decided to warn the Life fraction. Another time, a group of scouts was sent. But elsewhere…
After two days of walking, the group reached the newest capital of Life kingdom, Castle. They’ve met the king and told about the Evils. The king decided to call the priests and ask for some help in contacting with Heaven.
Since everything was done, every single troop and peasant went to hear the divine speech. When everybody came, the God appeared. And said:
“No peace, just war, but this is not mine fault. You better look what’s behind you.”
Armies of evil units stood not far from here. War began… and the end was again the beginning… only of the end now.

Here is my storyline, in case anyone is interested. Copied from the greater Septagon Proposal.
I should add to this that I always strongly oppose extremely twisted and stupid ways to bring back some old long-dead heroes. If we want cool heroes, we can create cool heroes, rather than digging them up. And I also think that the story should stay true to the original M&M universe storyline. This includes that devils are in fact the Kreegans, whos purpose it is to destroy worlds. And I believe that Axeoth does have a lot of potential, even though it had a bad start. The other world is now completely explored and chewed out.
After establishing an Empire on and around the Gold Sea, the faction of Chaos send out scouts to search for more riches and territory worth conquering. During one of these searches, a scout, named Rinuem found a cave in a large mountain range. This was many miles south of the borders of Great Arcan. Out of pure curiosity, Rinuem, who also possesed some knowledge of the forces of Chaos, started searching the cave. During this search, he found an underground dome, the size of a medium-sized country. This cave was swarming with underground creatures of incredible power. In fear of his live, Rinuem fled.
In Great Arcan, at the moment, the most powerful country of Axeoth, a young female mage, named Theria, was accused of the murder of a high member of the government. This accusation was false, but she had many enemies due to her continious preaching that it was not wise to anger the forces of nature. Her power in the magic of Order was stronger than many thought and she was able to disappear from the country before the Guards of Order managed to capture her. She fled to the south and happened to encounter Rinuem. After some talking, they quickly became friends.
Theria managed to convince Rinuem to tell her the location of the cave. Rinuem trusted that her power in Order Magic would be able to control the creatures of the deep.
In the cave, Theria used all skill of charm and mind influence that she had to persuade underground creatures to obey her. Eventually, they trusted her. Theria kept strenghtening the bond and the control. Eventually, she combined the Chaos Magic of Rinuem, her own Order Magic and the skills that she had learned from the insects to form the new Archaeon Magic. Theria taught Rinuem to communicate with the creatures and he started to train them in the arts of warfare, because even though he was a scout, he had seen many battles. Word of their discovery spread through the unofficial channels, which attracted many adventurers and rogue wizards. Theria and Rinuem trained as many as they could to use Archaeon Magic and to lead the new armies. In the meantime, the organization they brought had given the number creatures an expotential growth. Soon, they had an army, which was equal or greater than the other armies of Axeoth.
Unfortunately, Theria's hatred towards Great Arcan started to consume her. Rinuem had always seen the Order Mages as enemies and he supported her in this. They both started to equip their armies to counter the powerful magic of Order. Soon, they openly declared the founding of the Archeon realms and allied themselves with the Chaos faction. A number of creatures from the Gold Sea Empire actually decided to join this new faction, which only strengthened the bond between the two sides.
In the meantime, a split started to develop in the countries of Great Arcan and Paleandra. After the accusation of Theria, some started wondering how much was left of the freedom that Emilia and Solymr had fought for. Emilia had not lived long after her near-fatal injury, Solymr had refused to rule and left the country. Lord Reed took over the rule (remember the squire Reed from the Emilia campaign, it's him). He introduced the Reed doctrine which implied that Great Arcan had possesion of the ultimate knowledge and that nothing should be questioned or attempted to improve. There was no improvement possible, only decay.
Paleandra suffered the same problem. The priests argued that the ways of life had been indicated by the heavenly forces. It was blasphemy to stray from these.
No wonder that in both countries opposition started to rise. Lord Reed and Lysander Jr. (son of the old Lysander) imprisoned many and crushed several protests.
The Empire of the Gold Sea watched this all with enjoyment. Soon, both countries would be weakened enough to conquer with little trouble. The Empire was ruled by both Tawni Balfour and Cyrca, both old, but still capable enough. However, they made the mistake to move too fast. Paleandra and Great Arcan united to stop the clash and many great battles were fought, where the Empire seemed to prevail, but with heavy losses.
The opposition in Paleandra and Great Arcan did not want both countries to fall to the Empire, but refused to help them either. They simply left the countries and united. This union was led by Lady Vemirin. Lady Vemirin tried first to establish a base close to the borders of Paleandra, but this in the terretory of the Elves. Since their towns had high costs in resources, they threatened to destroy many of the forest. The elves attacked with hit and run attacks and summoned their powerful forest creatures to drive the alchemists (as the metal focussed magi were called).
The alchemists fled both the elves and the battles between Paleandra, Great Arcan and the Empire of the Gold Sea. After a long journey, they arrived at a large mountainous land, which was not claimed by anyone, but on the borders of Nekross. The necromancers were quitely waiting for the end of the war to use their necromantic powers on the battlefields.
They welcomed the alchemists as friends and allies. Nekross was longing for a real ally and the alchemists needed a save haven. Both factions had many benefits from this alliance. The alchemists now started to build up their own country and forces. Many war machines were made to aid them in battle, but the bulk of the forces were humans, dwarves and drows, who were equiped with powerful weapons. The drows are natives of Axeoth, who were driven out of their natural habitats by the elves from AvLee and Vori, who had fled for the Reckoning. They had hated the elves for it, but were not strong enough to do anything. After seeing the alchemists emerge as a powerful enemy of nature, they offered their service and protection. The alchemists accepted the alliance and many drows obtained ranks both in might and magic. Many of them were equiped with springsteel bows or enchanted blades.
The alchemists started to develop their own magic. They based it on their old magic from Life and Order, but they also took a lot of influence from the necromancers, who taught them how to use magic to hurt and weaken your enemy. The alchemists combined all of this in their ability to control the material world, creating a fearful kind of magic.
Lady Vemirin remained the alchemic leader, even though she was not an alchemist herself. Instead, she became skilled in using enchanted blades to fight and in the art to lead armies, like the knights of Paleandra did.
Meanwhile, the forces of Paleandra managed to hold on to their territory, thanks to the mountain ranges that surrounded their lands. Great Arcan, on the other hand, took severe blows and their people were driven back to the snowy mountains (Order should have more focus on cold and snowy mountains). There, they managed to build more strongholds and hold of the forces of the Empire. The Empire was actually severly limited itself and was hardly any stronger than the others.
Nekross did not want to fight, but was dragged into this war by the scruff of its neck. Lysander Jr. of Paleandra had convinced the elves that Nekross was a direct threat to the freedom of the people. Gauldoth first ordered his undead to hold them away from the borders, but his army was small and was swept away. Fortunately for them, the alchemists kept true to their alliance and drove the elves away with their now sizable force.
Gauldoth and the alchemists renewed their alliance, which brought the alchemists absolute damnation from the priests of Paleandra. The alchemists would defend both borders while a large group of necromancers would take the risky mission to travel to the battlefields and raise the army of undead which they would need to properly protect all borders. Neither of them had desire to really ride out into the middle of the conflict. They just held on to the old necromancer trick of waiting until the others kill each other.
The necromancers lost some of their people during this mission, but raised a huge army of undead. The demons feared to be outnumbered in this way, but most of them were brutally slaughtered before they could do anything and ressurected as undead, the others fled to the north (turning the necropolis undead again).
The alliance repeatedly suffered attacks from the elves and barbarians, but the armies were now large enough to hold off attacks, and the Alchemists retaliated by burning and poisoning the food supplies.
The barbarians were still under command of an aging Waerjak. They usually did not bother with other peoples, but the elves send envoys to their leaders, warning them about the dangers of the large army of undead and alchemic troops. The barbarians were never really friendly to the necromancers and agreed with the elves that they were a thread. Their forces managed to take down a number of the undead and alchemic forces, but the alchemists retaliated with the destruction of the food supply by poison and flames.
The barbarians were now forced to take over other lands, just for the food. Under protest of the elves, they decided to raid the borders of the northern Great Arcan. This alienated both the barbarians and the elves from the Life-Order faction.
This is where the story starts. All sides are more or less equal and all at war with each other or neutral. This is no longer a war between good and evil, but a battle for survival of the fittest.

My version of the story
Marlet Ekiran, this is a very interesting story, with lots of twists and turns, but now that you’ve created this much mess, I would certainly like to hear how do you plan things to sort out for everybody. One other thing I don’t like, is that you introduce Archaeon and Alchemist town, but I don’t think they’ll be in Heroes5. This is a potential problem with your story, and the reason why it might not be implemented. Anyway, great narration and ideas.
Now, about my version. I had difficulties in the creation, because I had no idea what towns to use in the story. But, I figured the “usual” towns would still be present. Plus, I really expect the return of the Inferno, and I suppose they will add another town, but I‘m not sure which will it be. I call it “the Natives” in the story. If they don’t add the additional town however, “the Natives” would be a group of creatures and their campaign will be omitted. Ah, just read it, and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
The Return of the Kreegans
After the demons joined the Necromantic ranks, they lost their former strength and power. They became nothing, but obeying servants of the Necromancers. They were in a way, forced to do that, since they lacked the spiritual and magical guidance by a strong demon. Without a deity, a cause to fight for, a plane of fire to call home, they were unable to unite.
A young human, Demian, said to be the offspring of a human 16-year-old princess and an Incubus, cast away by society, has been studying the secrets of Black Magic and the old ways of the Kreegans. He is fascinated by them and one night in a dream he has a vision of a satanic deity. The deity, Azazel, represents itself to be a god in this world long forgotten by his followers and now he realizes the chance he has to gain followers once again from the ranks of the Kreegan demons. He sends Demian on a quest to gather a demonic army, free the demons form the Necros, summon some powerful demonic creatures from Axeoth deep in the Underworld, and finally to create a new kingdom of evil all of his own, with which later he plans to destroy all Good and the newcomers.
An ambitious task for Demian, to be the father of the new race, he willingly accepts the challenge and while accomplishing it, he discovers his own magical powers, inherited by his demonic father. He fights the Necros, frees the demons, summons terrifying creatures guided by Azazel, and finally uncovers an extremely powerful artifact (the Grail), needed to perform the Satanic ritual for turning a huge area of lush forest into Hell, and thus giving birth of the new race.
He then gathers an army and turns his eyes to the elven lands and the Necromancers, who seem to be focused on more important task south and do not pay much attention to the new King Demian. He expands the borders of his empire, ever guided by his patron, Azazel.
A Revolution of the Mind
The Kingdom of Great Arcan became one of the mightiest empires in the New World, ever since Queen Emilia came to its throne. However surrounded by a whole group of cunning advisors (Dukes, Viziers and Archmages), she slowly began to lose touch with reality. That and the handicap she had form her now legendary fight with Gavin Magnus, made her a true puppet in the hands of her “servants”. And Solmyr, wasn’t here to guard her since she came to the throne. He went to explore the new world in search of adventure. The advisors of Emilia Nighthaven, had twisted minds and eliminated all opposition in court. They were secretly a cult dedicated to Gavin Magnus and held the philosophy that the world should be conquered by the Order, who would ultimately gain all the knowledge possible, and create a new world order under their own principles and believes. They started to make laws that lead the citizens of Great Arcan to great conformity and control, and slowly toward achieving their goal.
Understandingly enough, opposition starts to emerge, lead by a small mischievous halfling, Rendof, with a spirit of a leader unimaginable for a halfling. Rendof believes that Emilia is controlled by her advisors and wants to restore her benevolent rule upon the country. The nobles mock him and tell him to shot his big mouth. But ordinary people start to believe the little creature, now that most nobles obey the oppressive regime. The Council of Magia, and ancient order of the most powerful mages of Erathia, decides to aid Rendof, and sends Astral the Wizard to help him. They raise a sizeable army among the ordinary people, and slowly the advisors begin to take notice of the new threat rising. After several lost battles they send an emissary to the Necromancers lead by Gauldoth Half-Dead, and seek an alliance in the name of control over flash or matter, it’s the same to them. The Necros reluctantly agree, since they wouldn’t mind a harvest of inexperienced peasant for their armies, and turn their attention to help the Nobles of Great Arcan, but secretly.
Now Rendof and Astral face two enemies, which are in fact in a secret alliance. They turn their attention to fight the Necros, while leaving their towns to the Nobles to retake. All looks lost, when a mysterious genie shows up, and decides to help the Revolution. Yep, you guessed, it’s Solmyr, back from his adventures and longing for his love – Emilia Nighthaven. Getting the information from an old friend, he tells Rendof that the Nobles are in fact a cult dedicated to Gavin Magnus and that they are in a secret alliance with the Necros. Rendof goes an inner struggle whether or not he is able to lead a Revolution. Solmyr encourages him, telling him the doubts Emilia also had when she was just a young apprentice. With the new facts, the morale among the revolutionaries rises and they drive off the Necros from their homeland, kill Gauldoth Half-Dead in battle, and gather their armies in front of the capital of Great Arcan, …… (whatever). The final battle begins for the fate of Great Arcan. The three heroes, Rendof, Solmyr and Astral, enter the castle and look at Emilia, all weathered from the hypnotic spells her advisors had cast upon her. She can barely speak, and Solmyr senses her life energy is disappearing. With a tear in his eye, he whispers: “I loved you, my Queen, as no other genie has loved someone before.” and finally sends her to heaven.
Rendof is made the first halfling Emperor ever, Astral his Grand Vizier and Solmyr, having nothing left for him at the court, sets on another journey into the unknown.
The Stealthy and Cunning
Tawni Balfour sets her plan for the Gold Sea Empire to expand its borders to the mainland of Axeoth. Instead waging a conventional war, she decides to use stealth and assassination tactics. Her first mission is to assassinate the young prince of Palaedra, son of Lysander, Nathan. She sends her agent, a rogue by the name Mourgious, to kill Nathan while hunting and make it look like an Elvish assassination, in order to bring the two kingdoms to war, and than easily conquer the pillaged lands. Hostilities have existed before, over that who has the right on the forests in the borderland between Palaedra and the Elves. Having done that, she decides to dig a tunnel leading to the barbarian lands. While digging the tunnel she sends Mourgious to assassinate Waerjak, a scandal that will cause war among the various tribes, without a powerful leader as Waerjak. But while clearing up the way to the Barbarian Lands (either Underground or on surface, depends of the new town), she encounters a native Axeothian race (the new town or new fearsome creatures). They put up a small resistance but are forced to abandon their home, because the Chaos armies are too powerful. Roaming the wilderness, they run over the barbarian lands and put even further pressure to the barbarians that are undergoing a civil war.
This campaign ends when Tawni Balfour conquers some land form her nearest mainland neighbors (barbarians, humans, and elves).
A place to call home (an optional campaign)
This is an optional campaign and its realization depends on the existence of the new town. Also, the story depends a lot on what town will enter homm5 (if any).
Basically, the native race is attacked by the approaching Chaos Army and driven from their homeland. Their task now is to find a place they will call home and establish a powerful kingdom that will be a match for the newcomers. They have no allies (for now), since they hate all the newcomers and find them responsible for the disappearing of the Old Axeoth. They know the history of their world and seek also powerful artifacts that will aid them in their fight for survival. Finally they establish a kingdom, a part of which were former barbarian lands.
Bloodthirsty Savages
With the murder of King Waerjak, the old differences and hostilities among the various tribes of barbarians emerge on surface. Only a powerful and influential leader such as Waerjak was able to hold the country united. The clans start to blame each other for Waerjak’s assassination. All fight in the name of Waerjak, yet nobody listens to his words long ago spoken. The Barbarian Lands are attacked by both the army of Chaos and by the new Native menace. They are much smaller than they used to be and divided as never before.
In the midst of this crisis, a clan leader, a female ogre by the name of Tunrida decides to unite the lands. But she’s hardly a female by any standards; she curses, spits, drinks and eats like an elephant, fights like a wild boar, and looks like, well – a toad. Unlike the other leaders, she rejects Waerjak’s philosophy of peaceful life and order, as being too “human-like”. She prefers destruction, the stench of blood and the glory of war. Being a female and straying from Waerjak’s path, it is hard for her to persuade others to join her cause, so she starts war with almost all the clans.
Eventually she unites them, and then sets to conquer back the lost lands form the Gold Sea Empire and the Natives, and more.
Farming Humans
The lands of the Necromancers after the “death” of their leader Gauldoth Half-Dead are in turmoil. They are attacked by both the new Emperor Halfling Rendof and their former servants, the demons, under King Demian.
A new leader rises among the Necro ranks. It’s the baroness Vermina, an ancient female Necromancer, who knows the secret of eternal youth and has an ambitious plan for her kind. She talks about how Necromancers are destined to rule the world. In the future the world will be divided, she says, between Necromancers and those who serve them as a birthing place for more members of their undead armies. She calls this doctrine “Farming Humans”. She claims that the first objective is for all Necromancers to unite, in order to conquer the humans. Afterwards the establishment of new Necro countries may begin. But for now, their first goal is to conquer the humans.
She quickly drives off the Order armies from the south, and sends an emissary to King Demian, in order to forge an alliance. King Demian recognizes the same interest with Lady Vermina and accepts the treaty.
They quickly conquer all of the vassal kingdoms around Palaedra. The combined demon-necro hordes now march towards the last standing and biggest human Kingdom of Palaedra itself.
An Alliance for a greater goal
After the death of Nathan, the older son of King Lysander, the Kingdom of Palaedra declared war on the Elven Lands. Now they are also attacked by the combined demon-necro armies. The Elves, on the other hand, had no choice, but to accept the war imposed by the Palaedrans. They also had another enemy, the lands taken by both the Gold Sea Empire and the newly-founded Kingdom of Demian.
In this time a messenger from the Barbarian Lands arrives in the capital of Palaedra. He is barely alive, hunted by a fearsome Black Dragon for the past two days. In his last moment of breath, he gives the aging King Lysander a message with a horrible smell from the new Barbarian leader, the ogress Tunrida. Written in a rude style it says that after the “glorious Barbarian armies” lead by the “new fearsome leader Tunrida”, retook the former barbarian towns and “slaughtered all the evil Chaos critters” they encountered, they discovered by torturing the assassin Mourgious, that he is the murderer of Prince Nathan. Tunrida advices King Lysander to make peace with the Elves and deal with the new necro-demon menace together. She, however, doesn’t offer help.
Having realized his mistake, Lysander offers the Elves peace and an alliance against their common enemy. The elves are distrustful towards Lysander, so both parties decide to seal the agreement with the marriage of Lysander’s younger and only left son, Fantor, and the elven princess, daughter of Elwin and Shaera, Shae Triele (why not? Sounds nice.).
At first these two, don’t like each other, but later real love is born. Fantor is also the best general of the Palaedra armies, so he is the one who leads the combined elf-human armies, with his bride by his side, as a sorceress.
The combined elf-human armies, lead by Fantor and Shae Triele, reconquer the lands lost to the Gold Sea Empire and the forests, taken by Demian armies.
It is during the campaign in the Demian forests that Shae Triele constantly has visions of Demian in her dreams. He is really good-looking, so she can’t resist him and has intercourse with him. Before she realizes, she is already the victim of his alter-ego, as an Incubus (cause that’s what he is really). The child she bears is not a Gryphonhaart, as Fantor, but an offspring of a demon and a deceived elven princess. She however is too ashamed to admit that and lies to everybody that it is actually a Fantor’s heir she’s bearing inside her.
While Fantor’s on the frontlines, Demian and Vermina’s armies conquer the capital of Palaedra and kill King Lysander. Enraged, Fantor gathers a mostly elfish army and sets to retake his capital and destroy the evil hordes. He ultimately succeeds and he and his elven bride are made King and Queen of Palaedra, eagerly waiting the yet unborn “Gryphonhaart” prince.

Next to this story for Heroes V, I also planned a storyline for M&M10. The Heroes storyline would take care of the greater battles between the nations, and the Might and Magic storyline would take care of the individual problems.
The story that I posted above is basically just the prelude to Heroes V. What happens in Heroes V is up to the player. In Heroes III, it always ticked me off that no matter what you did, Catherine always won. In Heroes V, I would like to see a system that gives different endings, depending on your choices. You may decide to play as the Gold Sea Empire, which would end with the destruction of Paleandra and Great Arcan. You can play alternating between Paleandra and Aranor, in which case your goal would be the destruction of Amalgaem and Nekross.
I am glad to see that most people here at least believe that we should continue with the Axeoth storyline and not act as if the Reckoning never happened.
As for the system that goes with my storyline, I have gathered it all right here:
http://dynamic3.gamespy.com/~homm/index.php?page=homm5/fans/marelt/homm5.html
The Archeon and Alchemic towns are included, as well as their creatures and spells and I hope to add the buildings soon.
I think the biggest difference between my thoughts and most others is that I wish to see the demons kicked out of the Heroes Towns altogether. They may live on as neutrals or semi-town (a seperate idea of mine), but not as an alignment. Other than that, every installment of the Heroes series has had new towns in it, so we can't really propose Heroes V with just the current towns.

New Storyline
Okay. Here's my brand new storyline:
Anarchy's Ascension
In a distant world called Zeth'Moranis, the people known as Zethans live. The are a blend of humans, elves, dwarves, orcs, etc. Their civilization has only one, but major problem. Their world is based on crimes and anarchy. Their so-called leaders has all been assassinated, and the former republic has now turned into a brutal monarchy.
Well, one day, in the middle of the capital's town square, a lightning bolt struck. After a few seconds of flashing, two men were lying down at the point of impact.
These two men were Gelu and Kilgore.
Some rogues from the local thieves guild woke them up, and they were brought to the lands monarch, the cruel tyrant king Zethaka. The king invited them and the conversation was on.
GELU: What is this place?
ZETHAKA: This is Zeth'Moranis, the land of freedom.
KILGORE: Is your definition of freedom crime and global anarchy?
ZETHAKA: My people sees me as their god. They worship me. As you well know, every living being was given free will, or at least the intelligent was.
GELU: God you say? People here does not worship you.
KILGORE: And then, i must ask you about you concept? Freedom? You can't rule without rules. In this case we can consider rules as laws. You have no laws, and therefore you can't rule.
ZETHAKA: You are bright, strange warrior. But i do not want to bore you with my background. Let's hear yours.
GELU: I we will bore you to death, literally. I'm interested in your background.
Now Zethaka starts to get really nervous.
ZETHAKA: Well, if you're not telling me who you are, you're outta' here. Guards, take them away!
Gelu and Kilgore were thrown out.
GELU: What do you say about partnership?
KILGORE: I don't like you, but that man is insane. I just wonder... i am not really ready to settle down in this crappy town. We must find a portal or something so we can get home.
GELU: That sounds like a good idea to me. Zethaka seems to be insanely mad, and his smell is somehow related to demons.
KILGORE: Sure.
They stole two horses from a drunk tavern dweller and the rode off, away from the human region. And then it began, the Ascension of Anarchy.
I think this is a better version than my other one. Hope you like it.
