How to defeat neutral dragon stacks on day 8
It's been along time since i've played H3. Like 4 years i think.
Anyway, this friend challenged me to play in a strange map that he created. There are dragon stacks nearby and blocking vital spots. I was wondering if any of you experts know how to clear them by day 8. I managed to clear one.(I used Tower)But i suffered many losses. Anyone can help me clear them with less losses?

Perhaps some more infos could help to find a solution for you..
What kind of dragons?
How many dragons?
On what difficulty starts the map?
What kind is your starting town?
Any arties?
Any spells?
Some answers please.....perhaps we could help then..

The map is sizs L. I'm trapped in a corner inaccessible by water. Neutral stacks of red and green dragons are all aroung to limit my pathways. Managed access to sawmill and ore pit, but MCSG mines aer guarded by red dragons. I was lucky enough to buy rogues at a refugee camp. All had around 6-10 units. I played on expert. Spells I had include shield, stoneskin, magic arrow, slow, and view earth. No artifacts.
I was tower, opponent was dungeon. I had Cyra, so I had additional haste spell. My opponent chose Deemer, no surprise that he had no problem clearing the dragons. But when I tried a stack of 7 red dragons, I lost all master gremlins, 3/4 obsidian gargs, half my stone golems, and i was left with 1 mage. How am I gonna continue like that?
Any help is very much appreciated

If your opponent choses deemer (with meteor-shower), why donīt you chose solmyr? (If you want to stay with Tower).
Or try necro and Aislinn....
If you play on expert, it will be hard to built lev7 dwelling week 1 (or is it a rich map with much ressources around?) with Tower, coz you need so much gems and crystals for magi and genies.
Perhaps it would be easier with stronghold or fortress. Behemots arenīt that hard to built in week 1 on expert.
If you can built castle as well, you got 3 behemots on day 8 and some rocs and other stuff.......that has to be enough for the several dragons...

On expert i would prefer the Vampire Lord strategie.
Your starting Hero should be Galthran, as he brings about 75-90 Skeletons with him, which will help u to clean the map fast in the first week.
Then should be able to get 12 Vamire Lords on day 8. Your main hero should be a Attack or Defense Specialist.
For the fight against the Dragons you should know, how many Dragons u might face as MAXIMUM.....
...if the amount is randomly given u will face
a) 4-10 not upgraded lvl7 creatures...or
b) 3-8 upgraded lvl7 creatures....
...which means, that even if it shows "pack of creatures" the maximum is 10!
....if the amount is fixed by the mapmaker u got to remember how many creatures where at this place the last time, as it wont differ now.
So if u face 10 creatures with an first week army, the dragons will be spread into 3 stacks with 2 Dragons and 4 stacks with a single Dragon (from the top to the button).
So the fight should be as follows:
Place the 12 Vampirelords into first slot, then 1 fodder creature in any other slot. If fight beginns the Vampire Lord shold now stay in the upper left corner, so that only 2 dragon stacks can hit them per round.
Now u need a little practice, to get the perfect time, when to drain which dragon, to avoid that u get hit by 3 dragon stacks to often. The Vampire Lords will drain enough hitpoints to stay alive till the end of fight...you will have NO losses .
For this action your fighting hero needs about 10 Attack and 10 Defense if hes a specialist. Stoneskin and Shield also helps to make it work.
See u around,
