Asmodean, you just spammed. However if you rephrase it a little bit by adding in a joke it becomes a toss. Toss = spam + thoughtful humor.
I guess what the veteran tossers are trying to say is that they have found a damn good excuse for spamming.

To Toss Or Not To Toss; That Is The Question
Everyone knows me. Everyone knows that I've never been called a spammer. Everyone also knows that every time I open my mouth and state an opinion in the Tournament of Honor forums, I get stamped as a 'tosser'.
Am I a tosser? Don't ask the ToH attenders because they're biased. You be the judge.
I suppose it all depends on what I'm doing. If I'm writing an opinion that pushes peoples' buttons then I guarantee that you'll receive an overwhelming, "WHAT A TOSS", from the many onlookers. However, If I've just woken up and had my coffee, then it's very difficult to control my fingers for an in-depth post, thus leaving me to live on the edge in the life of a spammer. But, if I manage to write something that everyone agrees with then two things can happen:
A. Everyone who reads it looks it over, mumbles something to themselves, nods in agreement, and leaves the post unresponded to having considered it to be nuff said.
B. Everyone who reads it, spams a huge amount of applause in appreciation for a job-well-done ending with a cute little red star from a mod who saw the post which made the little Heroes Community members happy. If the members are happy then the mods get off easy. Good is as good does if you want to keep your job correct?

So there are multiple meanings for the word...that fact might be worth mentioning whenever this topic comes up! It's no surprise that people are confused when longtime members proudly refer to themselves as "tossers" in some thread while dismissing ignorant opinions (usually on Heroes 3) as "tosses" in other threads. Do you want some newbie wandering into your tavern: "Solymr ruelz, and that's a toss! Stiven said so! Gimmee a tossbeer!"

Okay okay, if you guys all really want to get technical: I will enlighten you 
In the begining there was a fellow from Oz who used the expression "tosser". There were some of us who played (way too much) heroes with him often, and the expression ended up catching on.
Here is the definition as written by the great Rychenroller in the original Tosser's Tavern which began oh 2 years ago?

If any of you are familiar with the smurfs, you'll remember that the smurfs used the word smurf in any form they desired, adjective, noun adverb whichever... well such is as it's become with tossing.
So now, it seems that the definition of a tosser varies from individual to individual. It takes some time to fully understand what tossing is all about
I would have to say for the most part tho: being called a tosser in the ToH section means you're being called full of *eh* ...poop. While in the Tavern, it is an honour 
And please please please keep this one important thing straight in your head - tossing is NOT spam, never has been, never will

I'm just trying to help.. and dispel the idea that the tosser's tavern is some sort of clique 
I remember when I first started posting in the Tavern side rather than just Toh, I always felt on the outside no matter what I posted I was just a "ToHer" without enough stars by my name to listen to
The last thing I'd want to do is make anyone else feel they're not welcome to join in and post with us - a Community can't be great if its not open for everyone to join in

Yeah, tossing is like that. A lot of people will always say that nobody else really knows what tossing is. That gives them the advantage of always being able to claim what is or is not a toss. Yup, abuse of power my friends. Selective defamation my brothas and sistas! Fight the powa!

If you have to ask, it isn't a toss even if it was going to be a toss, in which case the asking part negated anykind of humor from the post because you ruined it by asking if it was a toss, but it probably wasn't a toss cause you were forcing it instead of letting it come out natural.
Is this a toss? Nope, it's not cause I asked if it was a toss cause I'm a stupid noob.

If you are blind, then heaven doesn't look like anything. Heaven would be a place of music and singing praises to God. If they were not born blind, however, but had an accident, then Heaven would be the place that you regain sight.
