Life and reality
Hiya ppl
I'd like to make a little post about reality, hope u guys n gals will like it as much as the other posts in this place. It's about reality, and alittle "out there", but Im hoping for a good response.
Reality is interesting, because we all live it. Thats a good reason to think, and write about it. Since there are so many views of reality, I'd like to focus on its functionality, and the reproduction of reality in lesser forms - games.
In a game, there are rules, formulas, and laws. These are consistent over time, and provides the foundation for the entire game world. Then we have the socially created rules like "No hit&run", and other "unwritten laws. Knowledge of these rules is vital to correct and successful gameplay. It usually takes a while to learn all the rules, and few people ever know them all.
Once the rules are set, the game can start. The world of the game begins at the beginning of time, and ends at the end of time, when the game is over. The game must be simulated in some form, and displayed to the user; the data must be stored and processed, and they must be displayed to the user via graphics.
Once a player goes into the game, he can interact with the game environment according to the game rules, and make choices about his actions that affect himself and the game world. He plays for a while, and then quits, hopefully having had a good time.
Games are not real, at least not as real as our reality, where things are different:
In reality, there are laws of nature. These are consistent over time, and provide the foundation for the entire world. Then we have the socially created rules like social etiquette, and laws. Knowledge of these rules is vital to correct and successful living. It usually takes a while to learn all the rules, and few people ever know them all.
Once the rules are set, life can start. Reality begins at the beginning of time, and ends at the end of time, when reality is over. Reality must exist in some form, and displayed to the living; the world must be stored in physical form, and processed according to the laws of nature, and this must be displayed to the living via the five senses.
Once a person comes into this world, he can interact with reality according to the laws of nature and social rules, and make choices about his actions that affect himself and others. He lives for a while, and then dies, hopefully having had a good time.
Two things that are so different, yet still very similar. I like games, and I like reality. I wonder what happens, when we log out?..
