One magazine had an article about the new game. It said that the game would be developed into the Asian market, but they are considering bringing it elsewhere too. While it'll be based on the Might and Magic series, at this point the game is oddly called "Heroes of Might and Magic Online".
I have a scan from the pics in the article here. Funny that they have used the Archangel - Devil pic from HOMM3 (if I recall correctly?)

The ideea itself is not bad. If you would all go back and play the M&M series, you would notice that it has lots of potential to develop into a MMORPG. The games themselves were huge, offering solid storyes, lots of quests, a FP view mode that can and is suited for MMO play.
Only problem i have noticed so far is the fact that they will mix the M&M universe with certain asian mithological aspects, as stated on Gamespot. I don't know how much asian stuff is gonna be implemented in this game, but the fact that it is designed solely fot the asian market makes me think there will be lots of them. I really can't see how you can mix a Chaterine Ironfist mama san with a Samurai Jack or some Buddha statues.
Of course, the game must be officially announced before we can know for sure when it will appear, just like the case of Heroes V. We will wait and see. Till then, I will stick to my Everquest 2 account

You mean stuff like Naga, Golem, Genie, Efreet etc?

I think they used the "Heroes" (or "Heros", as it said on a poster they had at the release ) to get more publicity around it. I mean, the last MM game sucked, while H4 at least had some original concepts to it.
Also, The probably think for some reason that HoMM has more followers than MM, so they attempted to lure us in byt using the name "Heroes" (or "Heros").

So would this HOMM game be like FF11. I wonder If we'd have to pay a monthly fee to use it?

Like in any non-free MMO, yes, I suppose you will have to pay.

I wish you wouldn't have to pay. That's usually the reason why I don't play more games on the net or join clubs. Unless this game is awesome, I guess I'll just stick to HOMM III.

Maintaining a server and additional content costs money. That's why MMORPGs have monthly fees, unlike other types of computer games. But a lot of people think paying 12-15 dollars a month in addition to the game itself is way too much.

I'll be honest I do think that is too much... and a lot of others are probably going to be like me and stick to typical heroes with no monthly cost.

So let's make this clear... this game were talking about isn't going to be HOMM V though right? Cause I'd rather HOMM V just be an "upgraded" version HOMMM III. With the typical online gaming that doesn't cost money. I didn't care for HOMMM IV as much as its predecessor. Still keep some of the ideas though.

Heroes V and Heroes Online are two different games. It would be nice if Ubisoft could make that official though.
