He is arguably the most known Heroes character, and he' so cool. But, as a hero, he's not at all powerfull.
Artifacts make Sandro great.

I don't exactly remember his name, but I always thought the sharpshooter guy was awesome.

Yog is my favourite H3 campaign hero. Yog is recruitable in Heroes Chronicles: Warlords of the Wasteland, based on the H3 engine and set over 1000 years before Heroes I.

Counting Heroes Chronicles It'd definitely be Tarnum. It was so much fun playing clash of the dragons, who doesn't love having an army of pure dragons?

Let me think, hmm... for homm3:
Lord Haart, Roland, Kilgor and Crag Hack for their story Christian is funny too.
And maybe Mutare,Kilgor,Xeron,Lord Haart(death knight),Crag Hack(Orrin too but he's not a "real campaign hero") if you ask about the specialty.
seriously i really prefered when knights were so honorable as Roland and barbarians were like kilgor or Crag Hack and not those flower sniffer orcs...

My favorite hero has usually been Dessa. It depends on the campaign of course but having an extra hero who can collect troops quickly from towns each week and who can explore a lot faster than the others is a huge bonus. Gunnar is good for the same reason but he starts with tactics as a secondary skill while Dessa gets wisdom. I rate wisdom slightly above tactics so...
Other than that I'd say Crag Hack, Tazar, Mephala and Thorgrim are the most powerful heroes. And Vidomia and Isra will get tons of fresh skeletons if they win huge battles at higher levels, if they have strong spells then they will become very powerful as well.

Gelu of course. Not only is he half-Vori, has red long hair, Armageddon's Blade and sharpshooters but also a Romanian name

Crag Hack and Sandro are two bad-ass and can't be out of the list.
Lord Haart and Kilgor campaigns were pretty fun, so I'll add them as well

My favourite hero is Adrienne. She is kinda hot...
Dracon is great as well because of his specialty.
