Homm3 Questions and Answers
Hello, I've always been an avid fan of the heroes series (1-3), haven't tried 4 "yet" 
Anyways, I got a few questions... I would have used the "search" button at the top if I had seen it, but my eyes have obviously deceived me of such a tool  oh well.
1) I want a list of what a "Legion", a "Horde", a "Pack", a "group" of monster is...
A Legion of Archangels, I know a legion is Lots!!! like 200+ units.... and that a group, several, pack, or few is like 5-50, but I need to know the exact units so I can judge best during the game if I can take out the group or not.
2) This guy won't give me this artifact until he meets a TRUE LEADER? how do I get the artifact? how do I become a true leader?

Several 5-9
Pack 10-19
Lots 20-49
Horde 50-99
Throng 100-249
Swarm 250-499
Zounds 500-999
Legion 1000+

for a true leader, he means level 10.
But you can get it if you have Diplomacy:
Basic = level 8
Adv. = level 6
Expert = level 4.
Of course, it's rather rare to be expert diplomacy at level 4, but possible.

Oh. I though that "A True Leader" meant that the hero knew Leadership.

Mvassilev is right about "True Leader." You need Leadership. The stuff with Diplomacy that Conan posted is for the Library of Enlightenment (and I suppose Xanadu in H2).

Sometimes when you go on an artifact, the message will read that the artifact will only be given to a true Leader. That means a hero with diplomacy skill.

Only on AB....on SoD, this "bug" has been patched..

That is for heroes 2, true leader is a hero with leadership and a True Wiseman is a hero with wisdom

Now that we have all that cleared up...
Do you need to be a certain level of Leadership to be concidered a "true" leader???
Or can you get it even with basic leadership? (which would be dumb since I don't concider that "true" leadership)

..... so having said that, in the game, can a Hero with basic leadership pick up the artifact that requires a "true Hero"??

Or must you only go into the town than exit right away?
(Expert wisdom usually - mage guild lvl 5)

If the hero has the necessary prerequirements (wisdom), he'll learn the spells he doesnt know by entering the town. You dont have to spend a turn in it, nor do you have to click on the mage guild.
However, if you have advanced town portal, make sure you see the town screen if you want your hero to learn the spells. If you only teleport him to the town, and then right away to another one, he'll forget to take his spell lessons.

Also remember if your hero has Expert wisdom but does not have a spell book he will not get the spells...lol.

Many of this questions can be answered ASAP by reading the Homm manual.It's in the heroes directory as a pdf document.It's over 100 pages long and, belive me it has it all(or allmost).
