The Power of Armageddon
hey sup,im new here, but a heroes 3 veteran.. ive been playing for 3 or 4 years about. dungeon w/ malekith is my town of choice. i crave spell power and personally i just think dungeon has some pretty cool creatures.
i know a lot of people say inferno is a weak town, but i usually argue the following:
1.) its units have very good speed overall. having a fast level 6 and 7 is very helpful in many battles. efreeti are powerful, and although not the best archdevils deal a fair share of damage with no retaliation.
2.) armageddon with efreeti can be unfair.
personally i think the armageddon factor with inferno gets overlooked and it makes up for some of their weaker units, including imps, gogs, and demons.
i also don't think there is a best town, although certain towns may better than others depending on the situations.
anyways, im curious to hear what you all think. this forum seems pretty chill and im looking forward to contributing to the site.
peace,--avery

Yup. Armageddon is fun for sure, and I use this strat sometimes for giggles. Although, I usually use the Dungeon, as I can have Black Dragons and higher spell power.
I actually remember quite fondly a HOMM3 game where I got Armageddon and Fire Magic with Malekith, and decided to adopt this strat. I went around blasting everything in sight with only around 5 dragons, relying mainly on Armageddon. I even cockily attacked a pack of Arch-Devils. However, lucky for me, the computer split them up into 7 groups! One Armageddon left almost nothing, and I was able to collect a good amount of experience, and a free Tome of Air Magic.
However, the Armageddon strat does have drawbacks. If you come across a hero with the Recanter's Cloak or the Red Orb, you're in trouble. Also, you may be in for a rough ride against good Conflux heroes, as 3 of their best 4 units are immune to Armageddon.
All in all, it is a fun strat, you just have to be careful when attacking heroes.

In fact, I think all of their best 4 units are immune to Armageddon. Arenīt Magma Elementals too? Armageddon... I love that spell... mmm...

nobody plays conflux anyway, it's banned in most games by the map or players, so I wouldn't worry much about it.

In the campaigns when I have more than a hero and the computer have a superhero, I use to send kamikaze attacks.
3 armaggedons and thats it.
Of curse, I need fast-kamikaze heros, but almost everyone met the requirements.

Hi there, another Malekith lover it seems I don't play him all that often really, but if you play a XL with no water and full underground you have some real potential to develop a superhero and when the map is down to stricly cleanup it's more fun to DD hop and blow things up rather than to mosey all over the map with a Tazar carrying an orb of inhibition, although I wouldn't want to meet that Tazar with my Malekith
Personal record is armageddon slightly over 5k and Implosion somewhere in the 7.8k range. Boom!
