Quote: Losing to first day rush, to town portal, to implosion, to Armageddon, to hit and run is showing nothing else than the limits of your skill. Nothing dishonourable here, once you accepted being weak player.
There is no way on the earth you could win vs a good player using the ONLY tactics above.
There is one thing which can greatly complicate a game, but certainly not give a easy win, it is dimension door and fly FROM a pyramid/scroll/box.
But anyway people who did this thread expected to get only positive reactions, and they read only comments which goes in their directions. Nothing is more relevant that practice. So, the people who did thread (or those who agree with stupid rules) should accept to play me on Jebus, you get conflux, me stronghold. You can hit and run, we place fly in your mage guild, you are red; if you win by red rush or fly or hit and run I will apologize in this thread and make "mea culpa". If I win, you make a thread "I am a newbie and I shall shut up".
Accepted?
How about Extreme II instead of Jebus?

I am not fool to give him fly on a large/XL map. Only medium will be played. Large only Panic.
Angelito is looking for an easy game or what?

I hope you know that dim/door and fly are removed from the any template. So my example was about a special template, as I give fly to my opponent;
So I don't see why my statement is false: on any template first day rush is a noobish dilemma. Do you fear it Angelito?!
My point is that there are always threads like this one with a false output. They ask if a tactic is fair, instead of asking if it can be countered. And when some people talk about counter, the thread maker ignore it and continue his trauma posts. I say to this: let's play and I will show you are wrong.
And playing a template to prove fly isn't so big deal would be also a bad thing, as the templates were imagined with the no fly/DD in mind.
But any open map, Large or XL would be OK.

I know what you want to express Salamandre, and I am with you on most parts.
But some things can not be countered in my eyes, except you are very lucky.
Those things are "diplomacy" and "fly/dd".
Those have been my only rules in random games, when playing honorable opponents (and FMG of course).

Diplomacy powers depends mostly of the scenario. If the mapmaker "forgets" to set creatures behaviour, then Diplomacy can be painfull, yes.
DD/fly can not be countered, but can be "invalidated". Not on XL closed maps, but on a open map with normal quantity of ressources (not like most of TOH maps where you get level 30 in 2 weeks and you have all you need to get portal of glory day 7). I think that if you let your opponent enough time to "see" what his level 5 guild propose, then you deserve the beating. From the first day he must be weaked by guerilla tactics, scouts assasination, ressources stolen.
He must never have the ressouces available to build even level 2 guild, not tallking about level 5.
Thats why I consider Seven lakes a great map.

Most people play random. Me too, in the later parts of my career at least , because I got bored of knowing every single thing about the map (at one time I had a picture how battle terrain will look like for every single tile in the middle area for Hourglass map, so that I could evaluate my battle formation).
On 95% random maps Diplomacy cannot be countered.

that kind of rush is fairly hard to create unless in later games where u have super hero w/ town portal/dimension doors. it's not a bug indeed since later players can take ur mine on the same day and they get the production would u say that's cheap and should be banned? the troop transfer chain is a bit unrealistic and effortful from one's main castle to the nxt too if u r gonna set up that chain u wasted a lot of scouting efforts such as openning map or taking resource or visiting dwellings i'd say w/ that effort to add just one extra week's worth of troops is fair game
