The funny thing is that legions of people are good at writting fiction, but when it comes to action, they are helpless. I always thought exactly opposite - when it's finished (a map, let's say), we may add eyecandies and storyline. But these are only decorations.

Agree, but my opinion is that a mod or map is much better if the story is done first. It helps to diversify the design, terrain and gives more customization to battles and Heros present. Then nobody reads the story, as usual, but your map is good because of it. A happy paradox.

Does anybody know something about hipothetical "giving full-animated true Forge creatures for fans" ? If there were building given, why not to give creatures as well? ^^
Hobbit, I like your zombie so much. As we talked yesterday, you were inspirated by the original artworks. Great work! I hope you will finish it, 'couse it is better than my and znajomy's zombies. Okay, it is not from this legendary picture which contains fully-build city and small pics (and smaller ) of creatures lvl 1-3.
by Haregar and don't look at the first frame - I know that is it cyber zombie; little accident in work, huh!

WoW, still working link to the town music theme I offered here like 3-4 years ago
Anyway I'm not sure I still find it ok, after the time
Actually maybe it's a good town battle theme...

The Cybers Haregar posted are the ones GKH (his former team) used in their trailer. Although they're fully animated, they weren't implemented in the game as new units, but rather as replacements to Necropolis' Walking Dead and Zombies. Very similar Cyber models were created ny BIGJOCKER and Zielevitz. Links to GKH's trailer and the old Forge project:

http://www.zielevitz.republika.pl/strona/units.html
The old models are, I think, no longer relevant though, as don said that he and his team are planning on creating similar-but-new models for every creature. The only useful thing for them could be the animations, but I imagine they're not too hard to do anyway.

I thing that was planned to be the Main Manu background anyway, so I see no need to change it.

how do u know if that was the official main menu screen? this cyber zombie would fit better under the homm title, if not maybe the face of an important hero in the forge campaign [i dont know the forge lore but maybe kastore?]

Wow it's nice to seem some real good stuff here.
I think the title screen could use a little work, even if that was the original, it doesn't really seem too lively. But Forge was planned for AB, so maybe we could simply use Gelu.
The Cyber Dead looks awesome. However, I suggest putting the Cyberdead's arm onto the Cyber Zombie, as now the CD looks tougher. Not to mention the CZ has different arms even in the concept art.
Finally, awesome music for Forge.

Dj, you can tell by the design and looks of that lonely Forge Blacksnith in Deyja that it was planned to be the Main Menu screen and by the looks of the Cyber Zombie and Stinger/Bruiser pictures that they were intended to be the map selection backgrouns.
The picture of the Zombie does look different from the in-game zombie design, so it might be a hero (probably Cyborg, Might hero). However, it certainly isn't Kastore: look at my avatar, that's him

Main menu picture was Jelu, like on AB. Actually, if you will look closer you will see goblin in stingers armor and smeared nuclei explosion at the background.

That thing in the background does look like a nuclear explosion, but the ogre (not goblin) looks nothing like the Stinger/Bruiser unit: those had hats and huge stinger missile launchers on their right shoulder, and didn't have long hair.

ORLY? Did you see the final design, not only art with little cute metal duck on top of rocket launcher?
I sad: he wears STINGERs ARMOR (not hat or weapon).
After all he has pants like many forge units.

The lonely background image wasn't the original main menu, it was an early rendition of the cover art. In the final AB you can see part of it, inverted, in the loading screens featuring the main characters. The "blacksmith" is deliberately hidden behind a large wall.

i can bet that it wasnt planned for the main menu screen. it's so much 'nothingness' in the screen. + that the building's position is so wrong.

yes i get it, there's no need more that 1 person to tell me that.
