Denmark/Nightmares
Preserver, are you Danish? I'm asking because tomorrow is the football match between Bulgaria and Denmark... We must defeat you but I don't think we will do it...
About the Black Wood and the Burning Trees - why should Nightmares be in a forest at all? I think they could be in a Death Valley or something like that.

Yep
Of course i'm danish!
I'm not that interestet in football, so it would be cool if Bulgaria would win...
(You may have a chance, cause they have sent a lot of bad news about the danish team on the danish channels lately)

It's good that even the Danish wanted Bulgaria to win but that didn't help us... I knew it!
Anyway, another Bulgarian PC magazine has an article based on the Heroes 4 beta. But it doesn't say anything new. I wonder if all the PC magazines in the world are told not to reveal much information...

Thanks for any response!

I didn't expect this question at all. I think you just haven't read carefully because I have said that my source of information is a preview in the Bulgarian PC magazine "Gamers' Workshop". Anyway, I understand that people can't read everything - I will never read the Kuma's Tavern thread. Those are more than 400 replies after all!

I think the main reason why many people already hate the dragon golem before they have even played the game, is that it's a mechanical unit, and does not belong in a fantasy game.
If you wanna se a screenshot of it, take a look at
http://www.hmm4.com/screens/pic_2.htm
There's a lot of other artworks of many heroes4 creatures. Enjoy...

This Life Leech sounds frustrating... I think that there was a spell in Might and Magic 7 and 8 - Souldrinker, that had the same effect. But I have never used it to see what does it do (because I didn't have a Grandmaster in Dark Magic and I didn't have enough money). So HoMM comes closer to MM. Not bad!

Thought I should bring back this to the top...
... since the start of the thread contains quite a lot of intersting stuff.
Anyway to add some info if you check out the combat pick (Orcs and Trolls and a hero called Ritzil) on:
http://www.tothegame.com/screenshot.asp?id=10
It would appear that Ritzil can cast an "Armageddon" like spell that causes at least 180 damage to each creature on the battlefield.
Btw. I interpret the numbers so that the Trolls have 180 hp, and the Orcs have 12 hp. (The top number = damaged inflicted, the bottom number = creatures killed.)
And hrmm... doesn't Ritzil look very much like an Orc???

i am afraid that you cannot see the hp of the creature like that if there is only one creature in the stack and it dies.

In this case you probably could ...
it looks like none of the creatures have moved, none of them are shooters... So the spell is the first thing happening in the fight. (It could perhaps be so that the Trolls have advanced, but likely have no blows been traded.)
Also you have Trolls in two stacks and both of them recieve the same damage. And all the Orc stacks also perish and they seem not to have been damaged earlier either. (All damage taken by them is divisible by 12.)

i mean, if it's like it was in homm3, when you do 1000 damage on a stack consisting of 1 skeleton, only one skeleton dies.
the thing that might be a problem is that the orcs receive so little damage. maybe the orcs have some massive magic resistance?

Assembled stats...
Quote: i mean, if it's like it was in homm3, when you do 1000 damage on a stack consisting of 1 skeleton, only one skeleton dies.
Yeah, but look at the Orc stacks. One stack receives 120 damage another 48 damage a third 36 damage. It's way easier to explain this by there being 10 Orcs in one stack, 4 in the second and 3 in the third than anything else. The second number (under the damage) is I believe the number of creature that perished.
Quote: the thing that might be a problem is that the orcs receive so little damage. maybe the orcs have some massive magic resistance?
Why would different stacks of Orcs have different Magic Resistance? And why would the Resistance still give damage numbers that are divisible by 12?
There's one more intersting item. The Hero seems to be Hit with the spell too, receiving 36 damage. In that case I would be tempted to speak about Magic Resistance, or perhaps the caster receives some protection from the spell.
I've assembled the values that Wyvern gave earlier in this thread, while adding what I've seen myself on other screenshots. I updated two of the dwarf values, at least the movement of 18 appears as clear on one of the academy screenshots I've seen. Of course most values are near to illegible so there's some risk of writing the wrong values.
