Wow, what is this spell? Armageddon?
I see that one stack of 6 Orcs, one stack of 2 Trolls and a single Troll aren't affected by the spell... Why? I don't think that Orcs and Trolls have Resistance. Or maybe the spellcaster has Resistance which has protected the 6 Orcs, and the Trolls have a small percentage of Resistance so two groups are affected by the spell and two not?

yeah, when i look at the screenshot again and read your explanations again, it really seems that the small starved pregnant male trolls have over ten times more hp than the large boar-headed orcs (btw i would rather call it boar than a pig head). only reasonable guess i have left is that either or both the monsters will change size and maybe even appearance.

Didn't you understand my thoughts? It's simple - the spellcaster probably had Resistance and that's why one of the Orc stacks was unaffected by the spell. And two stacks of Trolls were unaffected, too. That's why I think the Trolls have a small percentage of Resistance. Did it become clearer?

The only creature that have Resistance (either naturally or by virtue of casting the spell) is the Hero. (He only suffers 36 damage whereas the Troll stacks are hit for at least 120 damage.
The reason the others are seemingly not hit, is that the "fireballs" that are aimed towards them have not yet hit them.
Look more carefully and you'll see one fireball on its way to the three stacks (the two remaining troll stacks and the remaining orc stack).
So:
For not yet hit stacks you see a Fireball.
For hit stacks you see a broken heart on top of a skull.

Maybe you're right, Djive... But about that skull - doesn't it show that all the creatures from the stack have died? Because next to the broken heart of the hero there is no skull. Or the skull represents that there are dead units at all and not the whole stack?

I hope the skull probably represent that at least one creature in the stack has died. The number says how many died.
It could of course be the whole stack, but I don't see why the player(s) would be interested in that. The creature stack is going to lie sprawled on the ground if all in the stack died, so this would be visible in any case.

Since we seem to refer to this topic often...
... it seems a good idea to bring it back to the top.
Here's a short summary of the pages contain:
Page 1: Hero classes, primary skills, academy lineup.
Page 2: Mines and resources, battles, spells, items and artifacts.
Page 3: Fafner level up, towns, bildings and units (creatures every day), dragon golems. (last part of the translated interview on this page)
page 4: nightmare, creature discussion and stats.
page 7: the 'armageddon' picture discussion, summary of known monster stats.

First an answer to Dajek - if only I knew about the demo... And now a little question - is there a chance that one of us, the members of the Heroes Community, is a beta-tester of the game? If so, will you say something more about the features of the game? (But I actually think the answer is no. The beta-testers are probably bound to say nothing about Heroes 4. Anyway, I hope that someone will answer...)

Please do not resurrect an old thread, the last reply is dated 2001, now, Heroes IV has been out for a few years already ^^
