You can't really address those problems. Either it's going to get more and more expensive and you don't regulate it, or you regulate it and put the insurance companies out of business, and then no one has insurance.

I personally believe that a free market can be maintained while the government runs certain aspects such as water, electricity and healthcare.
Conglomerate profit is taken out of the equation and people stop making money because poorer people go without the basic necessities, and the whole system is regulated.
Though I'm not going to pretent I'm an expert on the details of this, this is just my opinion.

If the poor is not so poor they will buy more and thus the people who is on the top will earn more. Simple plan eh?
Besides, Insurance for what? I know the one for health care, but what about fires, burglary, accident, etc.?

How exactly does McCain have more experience in foreign affairs than Obama?
As far as I have read, his work as senator had nothing to do with foreign affairs at all.
Has he ever been to Europe or Asia? (due to political reasons, not coz of war..)

The whole system or ideal is fundamentally flawed because it doesn't consider and even ignores one major aspect that is ALWAYS present: Corruption.
You can't say an idea for a system is good WHEN there is no corruption; it is always there and you need to take it into account.
It's the same reason communism is a flawed idea: it ignores the existance of selfishness.

Why should the rich subsidize the poor?

Whether or not the rich should subsidize the poor is another debate.
As it stands, USA is not a free market.
The very basis of such a government taxing system is all to do with the rich subsidizing the poor.
Just look at income taxes.
Whether or not these are needed/justified/good etc. is another discussion altogether.

Kind of, but not really. They'd only really be subsidizing the poor if the poor got checks from the government which had money taken from the rich.

Well it's the same principle.
The rich get taxed for things that benefit the poor.
It doens't really matter whether it's roads, housing estates or a life-saving vaccine.

No, the rich get taxed for things that benefit everybody, including themselves. For example - better roads = cheaper transportation = cheaper goods = benefit for them, and for everybody else.

Well yeah roads might benefit alot of people but not everything that taxpayers money goes to benefits everyone.
democrats.org:
John McCain and Sarah Palin like to tell crowds that they are going to "shake up" Washington with reforms, but do reformers stonewall investigations?
Gov. Sarah Palin is unlikely to speak with an independent counsel hired by Alaska lawmakers to review the firing of her public safety commissioner, a spokesman for Republican presidential candidate John McCain said Monday.
"The partisan presidential campaign of McCain/Palin has interfered and is picking partisan targets to smear in order to make this investigation look like something it isn't," said Patti Higgins, chairwoman of the Alaska Democratic Party. "Rather than cooperating with the investigation, the Republican presidential campaign is doing everything it can to stall and smear."
We've seen this movie before and as the Democratic vice presidential nominee, Senator Joe Biden, said yesterday, "the sequel is always worse than the original."

LOL!
"Gov. Sarah Palin lives by the maxim that all politics is local, not to mention personal. So when there was a vacancy for director of the state Division of Agriculture, she appointed high-school classmate Franci Havemeister to the $95,000-a-year job. The former real-estate agent, one of at least five high-school classmates hired by the governor, cited her childhood love of cows as a qualification."
source
Also, what's with the whole the media is "too mean" for Palin to talk to them, and she can only read pre-prepared speeches?
If journalists are too harsh for her to handle, is this the kind of person you want running your country, negotiating with Putin and Kim Jong-il?
