Heroes 2 CD audio compatibility issue in Windows XP

I can't access the CD audio mode for Heroes 2. I'm running XP and I know it's a compatibility problem.

I remember I saw a guide somewhere detailing the steps to allow the wonderful CD opera score to play in Heroes 2 for XP. But I don't know where it is anymore.

If anyone would be so kind as to point me the right direction or offer a solution, thanks so much.
