Here I've been away for a month, and when I pop back in for a second, what do I see?
That Consis has actually left us! I didn't know what to say, since he's one of my favourite Heroes Communists (sorry for stealing your phrase, Woock!  ). And then I read the second page of his goodbye-thread, and I find that he has returned.
The morale is this: Don't do such a thing again! You don't want to have the next Socrates dieing of a stroke at a premature age, just because of a whim? 
Anyway, good to have you back. I hope you'll stay.

Two quick observations...
1. Any individual who joins a message board centered around computer games is a loser.
2. Any individual who voluntarily spends four years (or more) of his (or her) life in the military is an idiot.

Dear Consis,
When I saw the title of this message, I must admit, my heart sank. Could it be that another person who did make a difference on this board decided to move along and change the scenery? I blinked and checked the message, already swallowing the bitter-metalic taste that the I'm-gunna-see-it-I-hope-I'm-not gave me.
I'm happy you are sticking around. Being selfish, for me it's always good to have someone to argue with when I do decide to post instead of lurking only. See, it's not just the www that makes me come back, be it in a day or a year, it's the people who do. But I am sure that you do know what I'm talking about. :-)
I was disappointed to see I wasn't on your list but I suppose it's my fault? ;-) Anyways, I hope that in the last year I have passed from your presence but not from your hearts. :-)
P.S. If you know how I could get in touch with Lith Maethor, let me know either here or in PM. Do Hexa and Romana still visit? I'll be happy to hear news, if anyone is willing to fill me in!
And most of all, I'm happy to announce my presence again.

I haven't seen Lith in quite a while, the last i saw of him was in "Lets Have War" in the Bards Glade Pyre, about a year ago.
Hexa and Romana visit sparingly, like once or twice a month.

Romana drops by now and then, while you can see Lith almost every day at the official Heroes forum (mightandmagic.com).

Lith also appears on MSN and AIM every now and then, but responds to my messages very rarely. Perhaps because he is very busy or something and knows that there rarely is any meaningful conversation to expect from me.

hmmm...
Lith is around... or so i hear... just exploring another world at the moment... or two of them... sadly one of them is that of university duties (was about time, some would say... others just won't believe it) ...the other is far more interesting as everything new tends to be
as usual however, lith has a good friend with him... unfortunately, that friend is murphy ...and we all know what comes with murphy... lotsa luck... bad

For what it's worth I only just now saw this thread. Came across it totally by accident during one of my Gootch-stalking episodes.
"I would say "thank you for your kind words" but there are two problems with that.
First, everybody else has said exactly the same thing so it would be far too trite to repeat it.
Second, I'm not sure how I feel about being referenced as a "cheerful little thing."
(ROFL)
Perhaps you should check with the Gootch concerning the accuracy of this characterization. He's visited twice now and I've come to know his "wooden leg" quite well.
(just kidding -- couldn't resist this remark being left so wide open)
At any rate, glad you're back, didn't know you'd left to begin with. I haven't been around since I got my old job back -- never any time. I'm at home sick today though so I thought I'd pop in.
Oh -- and BTW -- I agree withyour assessment concerning my greatest strength/weakness.

Hmm . . .
I would say that I've been tainted by my experiences. As I see it:
There are so many things to be frightened of. I tire on this notion daily. It keeps me awake at night wondering how best to protect my little ones. And you are so cheerful. I am glad that you are. It helps people like me. Carl Roves come to power behind the faces of good old southern fried western buckos who simply want to do things right. And then when they get to power they say things like, "We are now the majority in this country." I despise ambitious imperialists. And I know all too well the tool of the military. It is the hammer of the people and we've let come down upon the sewing needle of Iraq. I've seen exactly what our military can do to other human beings and I don't feel good about it. I am ashamed and frightened that people could use their scientific prowess and ingenuity for the simple ends of killing other people. I hate what we've become. I hate our leaders and I hate Joe Lieberman for trying to save his Israel by supporting the Iraq war.
I don't talk to my children about any of this. My wife agrees. Itis good that you are cheerful enough for people other than yourself.
