Riddle time!
The man who made it don`t need it. The man who bought it won`t use it. The man who uses it never sees it.
Two heads, one body. More it stands still the faster it runs.
Goes up white but comes down yellow and white.
No end, no beginning and in the middle of nothing.
Now in this place you can swallow me. But would I be more I could swallow you.
More is coming..... But what I demand is ANSWERS!

Someone...
has played Betrayl at Krondor too much!
You don't mind if I put something up also? I must say I know the answer for those riddles there so I'll pass and let others say...
Riddles from BAK are all time favorite puzzles for me compared to any other game or such...
Quote: The man who made it don`t need it. The man who bought it won`t use it. The man who uses it never sees it.
I remember trying to figure this one out in early morning 2 am and I couldn't come with an answer. Then I went to sleep and when I woke up I knew the answer...
In original form it's like this:
The one who made it,
didn't want it.
The one who bought it,
didn't need it.
The one who used it,
never saw it.
How about these ones:
They feel no pain,
No sorrow, no greed.
They have no anger,
No hatred, nor need.
----------------------
No visible flesh,
Nor blood, nor bone,
But given time,
They will walk alone.
----------------------
This old one runs forever,
But never moves at all.
He has not lungs, nor throat,
Still, a mighty roaring call.
BTW maybe this thread should be transfered to another board as this is really trivia...

Dead?
No visible flesh,
Nor blood, nor bone,
But given time,
They will walk alone.

uhmmm.... ehm..... hmmm? Shadow?
This old one runs forever,
But never moves at all.
He has not lungs, nor throat,
Still, a mighty roaring call.

Ok then........
Answers were all correct.
Except that time thing, it was supposed to be ring.
(that too was from Krondor)
Here`s one easy:
Brought to table. Cut and served. But never eaten.
No Sha_Men, you have no permission to solve this riddle
But none haven`t answered yet to Sha_Men`s riddles. I found those two quite difficult.
I will write more when I remember them

And the second one of mine is funnily...

But given time,
They will walk alone.

Some more Riddles...From BAK
You see me oft,
In woods and town.
With my roots above,
I must grow down.
-------------------
You must keep this thing.
Its loss will affect your brothers,
For once yours is lost,
It will soon be lost by others.
-------------------
You hear it speak,
For it has a hard tongue.
But it cannot breathe,
For it has not a lung.
------------------
You can count on them,
though some would rather curse them.
You can speak dear to them,
though well all know 'tis just in vain.
------------------
With flashing sword and booming cry,
With darkness staining land and sky,
The army comes, prepared to die.
Soldiers fall in glistening dress,
As battles are joined without egress,
Save comfort in the earth's caress.

My answers to a couple, and one to consider
Quote: You must keep this thing.
Its loss will affect your brothers,
For once yours is lost,
It will soon be lost by others.
Your Temper
Quote: With flashing sword and booming cry,
With darkness staining land and sky,
The army comes, prepared to die.
Soldiers fall in glistening dress,
As battles are joined without egress,
Save comfort in the earth's caress.
A Rainstorm
Now try this (it dates back to about the 9th century):
I haven't got one,
Nor do I want one.
But if I had one,
I wouldn't part with it for any sum.

Good...
You have the right answers.
Temper and Rain
That surely is hard one that yours, Unkahaakon...
Problem is that into some riddles there are many possible answers. I have to think about it more. But usually that kind of riddles answer can be traced through things mentioned that are opposite. And those are in that one: "I don't want one" but "wouldn't part from it". However it is strangely said that "wouldn't part" that is like he wouldn't part from it voluntarily or is it that he can't part from it? It could be only old language or the riddlemaker is in some state of mind that is hard to know. That's why it is hard one.
One of the answers could be "grave" I think. It sounds reasonable but I believe it isn't the right answer, is it?
BTW Does anyone know where to get historic riddles? I have been in some riddle sites in net but there are only some new riddles...

Hmmm ..now that's an answer I hadn't heard for that one before. It's "right', in that it makes sense, but the historical answer is something else.
I'll drop a post on the SCA newsgroup on usenet about your request, and let you know if I get anything back.

Wife and/or child?
Actually, Oldtimer, that's come to be one of the accepted responses to that riddle, but only if asked by a bachelor.
The "correct" answer is a bit less philosophical.
