Fable - XBOX
Anyone ever played Fable for XBOX??
I rented the game the other day and now I can't stop playing it. One of the best RPG's I've played in a long time, exactly my type of game.
Anyone else?

when I first read about it, I considered buying a X-box for that game alone.
but once it came out the reviews were terrible. so I decided against it. aparently its really short. 
but can you tell me more about the gameplay?

well, the game might be short if you only do the quests and want to finish it as fast as possible. But that is not really the point of the game. There are so many options you can do like buying and selling houses, flirting and getting married, doing side quests, getting more renowned.
And if you finish the game, you can start all over and be of a different alignment like a theif. then the sets of skills are very different and you can sneak into houses, steal, assassinate people and take their money and even their shops.
I guess the game is short because it is so versatile. Can can do almost anything you want. Seen this way, you could set yourself a goal to own as much buildings in a town as possible. This alone will take you many hours to do. You can't just "buyout" everyone... if you know what I mean.

i played. very good graphics and good system for magic and battle. i only played he start and did the bee/wasp quest and i liked it. i just hate X-Box and PS controls. i feel much better at a desktop
the question is, why isnt it on PC?

I heard it was coming out on PC very soon... they talk about it on the Lion Head forums.

Nice game.
It is very short lived though, but while you're playing it for your first, second and possibly third time it is excellent. Great graphics, but it's missing a lot of stuff.
The reviews are harsh, but they do have some good points. I mean, theres like 4 types of armour and only one of them is worth wearing.

just went to EB games and saw fable. its coming out on PC soon. maybe i will get it. but it doesnt sound as though u guys are convinced

I finished Fable in I believe about 14 hours I think, and that was when I first got the game, I hadnt played it in stores, just got it and finished it in 14 hours.
Really good and easy game.
Everything you do will affect who you will become, and what other people think of you.
You can either become good, by doing good deeds like:
helping a man that is being bullied
defending someones property
finding a little doll for a girl (when your a child this you can do)
killing bandits
Donating money at the Temple of Avo
and many other things.
You can also become evil by doing evil things like:
Killing good citizens
taking over someones property
destroying someones property
stealing items from shops
sacraficing people at the temple of Skorn
and many other things.
By becoming either good or bad, your appearance changes.
If you are good your hair starts to become lighter, butterflies flutter around you, you start to glow a bit, and you get a halo above your head, your skin looks healthier, and your eyes turn really light blue.
If you are evil then your hair starts to get dark black, you lose some of your hair, you gain horns on your forehead, flies buzz around you, your skin begins to crackle and it gets grey and pale like, and your eyes turn red.
If you are vil then people will most likely run away from you, but if you are good and you have good renown throughout the land, then people will want to follow you, and if you are considered attractive then people will start to fall in love with you, and you can marry them if you like.
If you marry another man, then you earn no marriage money,, but if you marry a woman, then you earn money, and you gain renown.
At times your husband or wife may give you items if you have been nice and caring towards them.
They may give you really good items, like swords, axes, and other things, or they may give you stupid items like an apple, or a book etc.
You can buy homes, and you can kill people and then buy their homes.
You can also buy shops by killing the shopkeepers.
You earn money when you buy shops and you can also earn money by buying houses, but only if you are renting them out.
Your cloths give you an attractive and good/evil status.
They also provide you armour, and it is better to wear cloths than to not wear any at all.
The best armour in the game is probably the plate mail armour which has an armour rating of 333 if I am correct, and it is extremely useful if you want to win.
Hope this provided some use for all of you wishing to play or buy the game.
I will edit this when I have the time, and include things like spells and weapons and stuff.
