I think its really very good, I especially like the colours you've used - the cards as well look very nice in the manual.

Yes, I saw and played with the cards in person at Origins. Very colorful and clear in terms of the theme. All the fonts and artwork match Heroes IV the CG very well. I'm a big fan of III, but the CCG for IV has some very IIIish things in them as well.

The dragon in general looks great and colours are perfect. Only hind legs look somewhat grotesque.

The leg thing: it looks like a supermodel dragon because its waist and thighs look to be of the same dimensions - Upper legs are way too thick, disproportionate with the lower legs and waist. Also without closer examination it can appear that right foot is an extension of the left thigh, while the right lower leg is double length.

So I suggest thicker waist and a remake of the (thinner) legs. He's a cover dragon, got to be 100% pretty

that other flying creature in the background: i dont know but the limbs look too...human, and does it really have to be staring at the buyer, its kinda creepy

Dragon: i like the dragon, i dont mind the legs

Person in the dragons claws (i thing its a person): i dont think it sould just be there, i think u should get it to do something like squirm, or hold a sword and look like it wants to kill the dragon, or make the person look dead with the back acrhed backward or something

i really like the font Heroes IV is written in, it looks nice

but thats just what i think

I agree with Valeriy, the dragons waste should be thicker and the thighs should be ALOT thinner, it looks almost like a.. chicken leg, lol. Howver i love the genie being clutched by the dragon, upon reading Mr NG post, i noticed that it was trying to break free of the claws or at least loosen them which is what should be happening and its a genie not a person, doesnt have a spine (?) i dont think newayz, and it definetly wouldnt be holding a sword lol.

I must admit however that the creatures don't wholly match their HOMM counterparts, for one the Blackies head looks WAY different to that of the game..

but other then that, the cards look awesome, cant wait to see them in RL

I don't like it.

The Black Dragon is probably the worst rendition in the entire series. Others have already discussed its chicken legs, while I'd add the creature is too thin as well. It looks more like a wyvern, rather than an actual dragon. The worst thing is its head, which looks nothing like the Blackie we know (either H2, H3 or H4 variation).

On the other hand, if the artist wanted to present his own vision, he failed big time. The whole drawing is awfully generic, lacking in originality. To sum up, I have no idea what the author was thinking. I suggest he check out hundreds of beautiful dragons all over the web, drawn by professionals and fans alike.

The genie is too sketchy (what is the original size of the picture?), while the griffin (?) has the limbs of a monkey, not lion... Whatever.

I liked the contrast between the purple background and orange fire (dragon's breath). Nice touch. Other colors are fine, too.

In my opinion, the art present in this thread looks amateurish.

I understand the cards feature the pictures from the game, which is a good thing. The design looks cool and the whole game sounds promising.

Yes, the dragon's victim is a genie, and originally it was going to be reving up to cast a spell (ice bolt to be precise...) but then it was mentioned that Black Dragons are immune to spells, so we decided to have the genie trying to escape insead.

well, ouch....

Okay, so you don't like the dragon. I'm sorry about that. The art that i had to go from was only 72 dpi.... and i had to keep it as close to the original dragon as possible. Which the original isn't that great either in my opinion. I'm not going to make excuses and the dragon could have been done better if i had had more time to work on it... but as is, the game is already behind on it's release date....

Most of my time went into re-drawing the original spell, skill, and secondary skill icons for the cards which there are a couple hundred of them, and only one of me.... I am working on some other stuff as well, like posters and advertisement.

I want constructive criticism.... not to be cut down... but I guess i should expect that? There's always someone who  i won't be able to please at all.... And there's no way for me to please everyone. Thanks for your comments everyone and i will continue to try to improve on upcoming art. Sorry, I am an amateur and theres always room for improvment.

I don't think your art is ugly or something... Is very cool... well I'm just a Heroes fan and is a little weird for some people here see some art about a heroes based game that is different from the original art... I think you just need to get a little close to the original heroes art, and with your persona abilities I'm sure you will do something very cool

Nothing personal. I said I didn't like the cover art, not that I didn't like your art in general or you as a person. I thought it was constructive criticism, because I wrote what I didn't like and why.

I enjoyed your work shared in your "welcome" thread.

Thats fine.... and i wasn't just saying that quote you quoted for you.... but for everyone. It's nice to hear people telling me things that i may not have noticed... but besides hearing what one may have not liked and why... i like it when they also tell me what could be changed to make it better and what they did like... and everyone has been doing a good job of that... it wasn't an attack, just admitance that im not as good as i think i am... thats all. sorry if that was not understood... it's hard sometimes to get things accross via typing because for the lack of an actual person to person facial and body movments. Sorry again... and what about the other art for the game. Like the tiles and cards, has anyone had a chancce to see any of them yet?

It does look very similar to the dragon in the first picture in that.
And didn't you draw the cover art, Jaeme?

Thanks.... thats actually the dragon I based my dragon off of because it is the one that was drawn... not digitally created. Im glad you noticed.... and yes... i did draw the cover art... as well as the board for the game... and many of the icons needed to be redrawn from the original so i did that as well....
