strategy vs necropolis resuscitation ?help
Undead always resuscitate his units (hero-animator).
During battle, i lose units when he can all his troop (e.g. dragons) resuscitate.
Pleas publish here, any good counterattack strategy.
Thx

Easy!!! Next time you start a game, keep scrolling through the towns until it says "Necropolis", then in the hero selection window scroll until it says "Galthran".
Another option would be to yell "NO NECRO!!!" as soon as your opponent selects it.
Good lick

Necropolis can be weak on small and some open medium maps because necro level 1-3 units suck and necro won't be able to get enough skeletons by this time. So, marksmen, elves, or master gremlins will rape skeletons, wights and zombies as they are making their way across the field.
If it is a large or XL map - the only way to beat is is by choosing one of the heroes that start with Diplomacy (i.e. Ryland+Rampart, Cyra+Tower, or Adela+Castle) they can get huge armies with diplomacy which and easily beat necropolis with those. Otherwise - the legions of skeletons are simply unbeatable. Especially - if their owner has animate dead spell (which unlike Resurrection is 1 level lower, easier to get, costs less to cast and does not require advanced earth magic to be useful).

Thx very much Russ,
I try use Your idea with diplomacy. The most ofen I play Tower so..Cyra ok. But.. what more bad i play frequently on
big/large maps. How ever, i hope when i collect
huge armies it is obliged be enough. Nastily that
, there is no any method vs thousands skeletons which Necro can be have very easy. Hmm only thousands my units? ;]

Make sure to get expert Diplomacy and Visions spell ASAP if you want to be successful. Visions spell will tell you whether or not monster stacks around you will join you and for how much gold (or free). Also, until you get visions, its a good idea to leave the creatures you want to join you for later on in the game, or at least to make sure you have enough gold to hire them and to have enough army to allow your grandma to kill them with her eyes closed. i.e. if you see "a horde of master gremlins" that you want to join you, you need to have enough gold to hire 99 master gremlins, which is what? 5k? and you need to have an army of approximately 6 nagas, 15 mages and 180 master gremlins - or a similar army that would normally make 99 gremlins want to flee.)

If u want to kill legions of skellies, all u need is an ammocart, tactics and some shooters. Get forefield and shoot them skellies to death...anti-magic on your shooters also helps a lot...

This post originally was intended to contradict the above post, but I decided to remove it since ruining the above theory is too easy
Just think of the fact that you will be fighting an entire necro army led by a hero. That should help.

Russ...
i know u have a response for nearly every possible solution anyone is making here. But the thread owner didnīt ask for the "ultimate, always working, winning strategy", but for possible solutions. The solution with forcefield AND shooters is one of those. And when i play with Thorgrimm and Tower and have 3 res. arties, your chances are not too high your magic spells will work...so i think Tower with expert archery and high resistance (tactics at the start of the battle would be needed though...) could have a good chance to shoot them skellies down.
Sure...IF the necro player has red orb or recanters....IF he has expert remove obstacle...if he ...if he........but that was not the question...

Im yet to see that forzefield tactic work in a real online game, Especially vs skellies who are only one hex creatures they can reach u anyway. To kill 2000 skellies + the rest of the necroarmy behind a forzefield is just not realistic.

If u have tactics, u just need to arrange your 3 shooters and the mastergenies in the topcorner. Only 4 hex space behind a forcefield. Place tough units at the bottom of the casted FF. So iīm sure u will survive some rounds till the skells will reach your titans and archmagi in the top row. Titans with expert archery and in range do some damage to your skells though....
Sure u can say u will teleport the skells directly on my side...next time clone them...etc.... No doubt there are always ways to counter different strategies....but to say there is NO way to kill legions of skellies is just not true. Always depends on arties and spells of BOTH sides...

Nerco may not have certain spells or arties, but unless your opponent is a noob or it is a medium or smaller map, he WILL have ghosts. And ghosts are faster than any archer in this game. As for this particular setup - Power Liches will do 6x damage to it. (And they are one of the best archers in the game IMHO, even without their special.) Althought even with "Thorgrim+resist arties" Meteor shower would do decent damage to this cluster of tower units, I will pretend I only have level 1 spells and no tactics. So, I'll cast haste. On turn 2 skeletons will kill the blockers and move inside the FF to kill the archers.
Yes, there is a slight chance that necro won't have expert haste (which I often consider #1 skill for necro, even more important than earth sometimes) and other possibilities such as necro having 0 mana when you attack, but I wouldn't count on it in most games.
Ok, another possibility to beat skeletons would be to have 20 hives/conservs (been done before - 56 wyverns + 20 angels killed my skels), or tons of level 6/7 dwells around you, or to find an angalic alliance, but when you don't have such luck, necro is pretty much undefeatable.
