I don't know how many of you other then Pandora live in the Winnipeg area, but if you do, there is a benefit concert coming up

Hurricane “Katrina” Victims Benefit Concert.
Sunday, Sept. 18, 2005.
At the Lyric Stage in Assiniboine Park.
The Winnipeg Musicians Association, Local 190, American Federation of Musicians, in partnership with producer Owen Clark and Clark Productions, will present a benefit concert for the victims of hurricane “Katrina”.
12:00 noon: Brian Chipney and “Starlight Jazz”

3:15 An Interfaith Prayer Service under the direction of Rev. Kolleen Karlowsky-Clark will be held with special guest Carly Wakula, who was in New Orleans at the time of the hurricane, talking about her experience

The producers wish to thank all those who have so graciously donated their time, efforts and talents to this concert: Peter Heymans, manager of the Lyric Stage; Long and McQuade Music for stage equipment; Audioworks for providing the sound system; Jazz Winnipeg for helping us publicize this event; Seven Oaks School Division & West Kildonan Collegiate; Chamberlyn’s Restaurant; Arctic Glacier, Inc; the musicians, singers, general stage helpers and members of the faith communities.
Various charitable organizations including the Red Cross and the Salvation Army will be on hand to accept donations and channel the money to the victims of “Katrina”.
The American Federation of Musicians, New York Office, President Thomas F. Lee, have established the “Gulf Coast Relief Fund”. Donations made directly to the Winnipeg Musicians Association (on site), will be forwarded to the national office and matched, dollar for dollar, by the AFM up to $100,000.00. This money will go to help musicians and their families affected by hurricane “Katrina”.
