For the record, I also got a "hello" IM and ignored it. Reasoning: I've had unfortunate IMs with people who are a little TOO friendly. This didn't happen before I revealed my gender on HC, nor has it happened in the female-majority forums I frequent. Just Heroes Community. I hate being hit on by strange Internet guys. Therefore, I avoid random friendliness from people I don't know. Better to stick to a specific topic, as Angelito said.
There are many reasons why someone wouldn't respond to a "hello" IM out of nowhere. Be careful in jumping to conclusions.

Khaelo, this was just a simple test, i do realise that there may be other reasons why one wouldnt reply to a strange IM. again just a simple test
