That reminds me, this was after when I used to play Donkey Kong and all that but when I was at school we used to play these word games where you had to type in what you wanted to do.. like that Trogdor game, like
You stand in a field. You see some stairs with a loose stone up ahead and a cliff face to your right. What do you do?
goforward
You walk up the steps to the top. There is an old treasure chest.
open
The treasure chest is locked. What do you do?
goright
You cannot go that way.

Quote: First PC Game (prior to 386/486):
Ultima III: Exodus (Origin Systems, 1983) on the Commodore 64
This game is definately to mention here . No automapping of the first "3D"-Dungeons..hehe..i had a block with all dungeons drawn on my own..lol...hope u still live according to the avatars of Lord British...
My first "Computer Game" was actually a Game called "Tennis", which was nothin but one line on the left and one on the right, which each player could move up and down to block a point and give this point the reverse direction. Man that ruled
Then of course Atari: Frogger, Pac Man, Space Invaders, Meteor.
Commodore 64 and 128 +1kb extension: Raid over Gambling Bay, Raid over Moscow (was forbidden here) and of course Ultima.
PC 486: Castle Wolfenstein and of course: Doom
First Pentium P90: Heroes of Might and Magic 2
..nothin more to say..hehe

First computer game i ever saw was the one Xarfax mentioned, "Tennis". I guess it was about 1982. 1 year later there was a "similar" game called "Football". Same system as "Tennis", but each player had TWO lines (bats), a goalkeeper and 1 forward.
Next games have been Pacman, DonkeyKong, SpaceInvaders.
All these games have been played in some kind of "pubs /clubs" for younger peeps.
The first games on my own computer (Commodore 64, 1983/84) were "Hamurabi" (something like Cesar, but without any graphics), "Archon" (a strategy game with fantasy creatures on a chess field....i loved this game!), "Decathlon", "Summergames", "Wintergames", "Frogger", "Sammy Lightfoot" (Jump ´n Run), "Pitfall" (Jump ´n Run) and "Impossible Mission".

My beloved PC game
My first pc game yes, it was a co-op game we played it (me and my cousin the pc was his).
I’m talking about this because it gut deeply within me the game is: Lands of Lore: The Throne of Chaos .
The pc was a 386 one and we enjoyed it a lot.
Now when I got my own pc I bought a 486 one then later I upgraded to P 100.
I don’t remember exactly maybe it was Quake 1 or Stonekeep (an RPG game).
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/stonekeep/
Hexen, Duke 3d, Heretic, warcraft did exit on my pc but sorry don’t recall if they came first ore not.

DIGGER ! :)
Quote: Am I the only one who played the masterpiece DIGGER?
I think we are two from now on! I was a bit depressed like you as I was reading the thread, alas ... your post was there! By the way, I figured out that you can play digger on any platform (check out here) and not just in your old 8088 with that CGA card!
Quote: I especialy liked the R.I.P music when you get killed.
Indeed! However, I really enjoyed the music throughout the game (either background, shooting, bags preparing to fall, bags falling, collecting gold, ...). I think it was very addictive!
Perhaps it's time for me to go .... R.I.P. (in my bed ),
daaa, daaa, da-da, da-da, da-daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa ....

Quote: Could you please define PC game?
Also, as far as PCs, are we talking about 386/486 and above? For some of the old folks here (myself included) there were early PC computing platforms such as the Atari 400/800, Commodore 64/128 and the Texas Instrument 99/4. I know, I know...what the hell are they...but I just had to ask.
Also, from some of the responses above, I think that some members are listing console games.
[EDIT]
On second thought, I will just post the following:
First PC Game: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons (Collector's Edition) (Pool of Radiance, Curse of the Azure Bonds, and Secret of the Silver Blades) (Wizard Works, 1994)
First PC Game (prior to 386/486): Tales of the Unknown: The Bard's Tale (Electronic Arts, 1987) and
Ultima III: Exodus (Origin Systems, 1983) on the Commodore 64
First PC Game (early Console/PCs): Temple of Apshai (Epyx, 1985) on the Atari 400
First Console Game: Space Invaders (Midway Games, 1980) on original Atari gaming console
Hope this is a very slow jog down memory lane for some of you old farts still hanging out around here.
We're showing our age...my first was Tunnels of Doom on the TI-99A

My first PC game was on the ancient Apple II computer. It was the lemonade stand game.
That was back when they still had those floppy disks. The ones that were really flexable, not the diskettes that they just phased out a couple years ago. I'm talkin about the ancient, over 10 years out of date floppy disks.
