From what I see I think we might got a bit of DnD influence to Homm5. I do not say that is bad, in fact I'm glad Dungeon is back. The Dark Elves (or perhaps Drows) might have a bit of better technological advancement, but I would not hestitate to say that's a rifle. Usually Drows are skilled in weaponsmith and crafting unusual weapons. Perhaps that will be somekind of unusual weapon... Who knows...
Ohh and I see that Elves got a bit of Warcraft influence.. Look at their ears

Sylvan just seems like another name for Rampart
And I Guess that leaves stronghold/barbarian out then...

Dungeon as a "new" faction with dark elves (if that's what they are) in it doesn't sound too good to me... I'll wait to see the creature ranks, but it may well leave out even more traditional creatures that we grew familiar with. That already makes me wait for the add-ons.
It's funny that with H2 and H3 I was waiting for the game itself to be released. Eversince H4 and now H5, I'm waiting (even before the game comes out) either for the expansion or for the next sequel.

The Dungeon seems the best town so far. True, some creatures are left out... but, for the first time, I'm OK with that.
Otherwise, I agree with your "crusade". LOL
